I'll bet it was. I imagine it was hand knitted for him by someone he loved. I doubt there were any mass produced Demon scarves in those days.

More premierships and more money.

It should be. The figures are for the club's financial year which ended 31 October so, obviously, after we'd won the GF. Whether the cash was received by then is a separate question.

Now you've got me singing "Dreadlock Holiday"!

I'm thinking more soft pop from the 70s with Max as the Captain and Demonland as Tennille. "Do that to me one more time Once is never enough..."

Always appreciate your work, PF. But please watch out for snakes. Seriously. -
Quite a few years ago, Leigh Matthews allowed his moustache to be shaved off live on TV as a fundraising exercise. One the mo went he looked extraordinarily like Homer Simpson. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find a photo of him sans moustache. The closest I've found is an article which imagines what famous people with moustaches might look like with their moustaches gone. Leigh Matthews is in there, as is RDB. And while I'm comparing people with characters from the Simpsons, who agrees that our Prime Minister looks like Chief Wiggum?

I've always thought that Brett Ratten was a dead ringer for Alfred E Neuman

For a moment there I thought you were going to suggest Jake Bowey = Princess Fiona

*Bump Has anyone ever seen Max Gawn and Twitter founder Jack Dorsey in the same room?

There were murmurings towards the end of the season suggesting that the concussion/injury sub would not exist next year or, at least, would evolve into something else. I fear that will mean a fifth interchange player. Has there been any announcement as to what will happen with the 23rd player in 2022?

Nice, direct response. But do we know this for sure? If the question is about a reaction to the vaccine based on zero evidence, we should also include all the other possibilities with equal likelihood of being the cause, including: lack of sleep brought on by young children insufficient fluid intake pollen allergy dodgy egg and bacon roll carbon monoxide poisoning from a fault in his car running too much or too hard minor throat infection etc -

I couldn't do either of them. However, I'd be interested in the views of those who do this sort of thing. Is a 4 x 1km routine more or less nasty than a 3km time trial? -
2021 Player Reviews: #31 Bayley Fritsch
La Dee-vina Comedia replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Not quite. It was 7 against Adelaide in Round 22. He kicked 2 in the Prelim plus 4 against Brisbane in the QF. So, 12 goals in the Finals series. A very fine effort indeed and showed that he can stand up in big games. -

I think you're mistaken. That's Lever, second from right, but in his Adelaide blazer. -
Presumably the word "improvements" is missing from this sentence, just before "made to existing fencing and lighting". If not, I don't think it's actually English. "In conjunction with the Victorian Government, Melbourne and Olympic Parks and the AFL, Gosch’s Paddock will be resurfaced and enlarged to MCG sized length and Marvel Stadium sized width and made to existing fencing and lighting."

The first year players are so skinny in the arms and legs. It's amazing that first year players get to play in their first season given how much they still have to develop physically. -

It's not that hot today. It was probably only about 24 degrees at the time the fun run took place. -
The intangibles that won a flag
La Dee-vina Comedia replied to The Stigga's topic in Melbourne Demons
Add character to the list. As far as I know, we don't have any players who get into trouble off-field. That means the club doesn't have to waste its time media-managing tricky issues and, more importantly, the players can trust each other on and off the field. I'm not going to name bad examples here, but look at how much work other clubs have to put into managing just one troublesome player. -

Jon Ralph's big early predictions for 2022
La Dee-vina Comedia replied to FlashInThePan's topic in Melbourne Demons
If it is true that GWS are considering Toby Greene for captain, it suggests to me that GWS doesn't understand the important roles culture and selflessness play in making a premiership team. If Greene is appointed captain, I doubt GWS will even make the eight. -

I seem to recall that some of those inner urban vaccination rates in Melbourne may not be accurate. I'm sure I read somewhere that due to the reduction in international students, the figures used for inner Melbourne overstate the actual population and therefore understate proportion vaccinated.

Jon Ralph's big early predictions for 2022

It's fair to say that I find the discussion around the word "frank", Charlemagne and the Merovingians to be far more interesting and definitely more informative than Jon Ralph's article. -

It seems that every footy writer has just discovered the word "frank" and has to use it as often as possible.
