Fritsch Out for 2 Weeks with Fractured Hand
La Dee-vina Comedia replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
I don't understand the argument that says Mitch Brown is the logical replacement for Fritsch. M Brown is 196 cm and 91 kg while Fritsch is 188 cm and 84 kg. I accept he could be a replacement if we thought we needed to go taller in the forward line, but, equally, we might decide to go shorter, perhps with someone like Chandler. For what it's worth, I think playing Melksham (186 cm/84 kg) in the Fritsch role is the most like-for-like option and it's what I would do. That opens a spot in the midfield which can be filled with any number of options, including Sparrow or even Brayshaw (although I like Brayshaw's game in the backline after May went off - perhaps he should stay there). -
Nice pun. As you can see in these boots belonging to former Collingwood player Bruce Andrew, boot studs were produced by riveting. Photo source: https://www.collingwoodfc.com.au/news/904708/bruce-andrew-s-remarkable-football-life

FLASHBACK: Rd 20 2016 vs Hawthorn
La Dee-vina Comedia replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
crying or vandalistically ripping up items on the train? -
Also short enough for a headline and for online posts. Not convinced a Collingwood supporter would understand it without pictures, though. You can add "jab" to the list of horribly overused words purely in use because its short. What's wrong with vaccination (or vaccine, depening on context), injection, innoculation or even needle?

Back in those days I suspect nearly 100% of Melbourne jumpers had the number 2 on the back. I'm a traditionalist and prefer the navy blue. But I want to shift gears a little. I find the current red has a touch too much orange in it. Having said that, it appears to be very similar to the colours Barassi is wearing in Sir Why You Little's avatar, so perhaps I should accept it as it is.

Did Stan Alves win a premiership with North Melbourne?

Thanks for this. Pleased to see we don't need to find an excuse after all.

Exactly. I'd go one step further and point out that the author has created a story which doesn't even pass scrutiny. It's utter tosh.

...within inner metro Melbourne..." We don't want to be in Seaford, Dingley, Craigieburn or Casey, all considered to be within metro Melbourne.

The only justification I can think of for not having a focus on kicking previously might be that there were so many other even worse deficiencies to concentrate on. Fitness levels is one that comes to mind.

I'm guilty of both these errors, but which is worse? Jordan for Jordon? or Swallow for Sparrow?

Unfortunately the world is full of people who are doing jobs for which they are manifestly not qualified. Chief football writers who can't write; world leaders who cannot lead, etc. Nevertheless, I think the club was wise to recruit Daw as insurance, particularly as he can fill a number of roles. However, I don't expect him to play unless we are struck down with a lot of injuries.

You've progressed a long way from someone who came up with the identity of "Dee man".
-
Are you sure? It's possibly there but perhaps you have to click through 17 different places to find it. I no longer bother with the AFL's own website. It's just too hard to navigate. I get all the news I need right here.

On the contrary, he'll be the leader of every stat possible for people called Gryan. Probably forever.

Match Scores Differential - 2021

I suspect you meant "you miss, you're dead", but your wording is also true. Just not on topic. -
He's not too far away. Saw Jack Watts yesterday in Flinders Lane in Melbourne. He looks fine.

I am reliably advised that St Kilda's Brad Hill and Brad Crouch have broken the AFL record for most disposals by players called Brad for a team in an individual game - they both had 26 disposals last weekend combining for 52 in total. This breaks the previous record of 50 held by our Brad Green (32) and Brad Miller (18) in round 13 2004. As additional useless information, the record by two players with the same name is held by Collingwood's Tony Shaw (50) and Tony Francis (30) who combined for 80 disposals in round 5 1991. And, St Kilda holds the record for most disposals by one first name for a team in the same game with 151 held by six Jacks in Rd 16 2017 being Billings (19), Lonie (18), Newnes (25), Sinclair (28), Steele (28) and Steven (33). I don't know about you, but this is the essential content I come to Demonland for.

Nice work, Col. I'm loking forward to the sequel based on Demonland characters. To get you started, I assume it would be written as a satiric con?

Unlucky just getting two votes?

...and, on average, by bigger margins than we have been winning so far.
