PREGAME: Rd 17 vs West Coast
Yes all you need to do is score more than your opponents, but consistent scoring of at least 3 seems to do it. Bit like the "filth" last year winning games by less than a goal and in the finals, All you need is to be in front at the end of the game, but how you get there makes supporting them easier. I still have no idea of what to expect this week, though on average over the last 3 or 4 years we should turn up and win well.

POSTGAME: Rd 16 vs Brisbane
A lot of LEARNINGS to come out of this game. Good to see the young blokes yesterday playing like they belonged. Absolute shirty about how we played first and last quarters, but Brisbane played well in the 4th, I think I felt there was bias, did we get any free kicks from Brisbane grabbing our guys incorrectly or was it just our tackles that got us those kicks ? If this is shown to be true we should ask questions, don't be nice about it. Umpires should be paid more but have decisions reviewed by someone with no bias. And it should be transparent. the 50 metre against Petty was by the crowd reaction, pathetic, and Rivers running too far plain wrong. ANB did dive over, but heat of the moment, not why we lost. Our forwards try hard, and at least we came to play last night. BUT there does not seem any clear connection or plan about who to pass it to or where to run when bringing the ball into our F50. We did seem to do OK in the 2nd though. But 3 quarters for 3 goals, that's our problem. Not happy bring on 2025

If Pup knew he only had one week there is no problem. I see this as the long game. We are going nowhere this year without a lot of luck and Petty and Melky coming really good. So work out who can play and who cannot , different venues and different opponents equals different debut players. Do not mention The German afrika Corp and their Panzers. go Dee’s Hope to be proved wrong.

Still not confident of a win, very much the other way. But Lever back in solidifies the backs a bit. I see Tmac giving Max. Rest swinging forward it back where needed. so perhaps it will not be a 50 point loss, with the back line working. Monners in for pup I am disappointed but if they knew it might happen, not concerned re development. our mids will need to work better. Rivers to stay, he looked a natural in that position. I hope Sparra can come good. Viney is doing too much. And max, hit it to our blokes. our forwards is why I think we will lose , JvR to stay on the ground the whole game, fritta and petty do something. and Kossy cause mayhem just run anywhere and get clear. If no one else is contesting the mark. Go for it ! Go Dee’s 35-40 pints I think.

Understand a strong mfcss it’s a bit like long covid, just does not go away . i think the line should be 48.5. 2 goals a quarter, we can play better than that but so can they, Their ground, they are playing well, we are not, they have enough very good players plus Ashcroft back. I can’t wait ! Go Dee’s

Love your positivity I don’t understand it but welcome it. I truely truely hope you are correct. I think we are playing a long game, and looking to 2025. Losing Gus, Smith, then Oliver starting bad, Spargo out since round 1, Melksham missing most of this year. And persisting with Petty not contributing then Lever and Tracca. that’s one hell of a chunk of best 22 players our form in that light is understandable. after some fantastic form and winning rates it’s hard to come back to earth. we do have some great new talent coming through. That’s the positive to the negative but next year. but I do love your positive outlook

The betting line is 29.5 points if we get anywhere near that, we have played extremely well. I would think it should be 42 points or more. say 2 goals a quarter. With our side at the moment playing in Brisbane is about right. how many goals can we score At least one quarter will be zero. Like other weeks. 10 perhaps. Not enough. But I will watch the whole game cheering when I can. go Dee’s

Kynan (Pup) Brown Debut announced by Alex Neal-Bullen on MFC website.
That footage of pups game day. Just look at him. He looks about 16. So young. So much unlocked potential. He might or might not make it but all the best. Fantastic first 10 minutes. Go Dee’s

2024 Injury List
If your list is accurate and I do not doubt your integrity. Even if some of your observations are a little exaggerated (petty being 77) it is a disturbing list. our conditioning and medical team plus whoever picks the side each week should be asked some questions. it is the same as playing one or two players less each week, no wonder 2024 is so poor. Other years it has worked better, but not this year. As soon as Salem went off, our system could not cope.
