Happy with Picken, he complements my side nicely. I have enough ball winners in my backline, i needed some grunt.
High tackling backs are pretty rare too (Picken was ranked No.2 last year). With a new coach, maybe a new role, i think he could have significant upside as well.
Those settings all look fine....the bye weeks will even the playing field a bit.
The one setting i don't like much - In season player position changes. I think if you draft someone as a forward or back they should retain those positions for the whole year (like in DT/SC). It could really mess up a teams structure if one of their forwards becomes a back or vice versa, especially with, dare i say, a smallish bench.
Oh and Magner....pick 300 is my tip...you would be nuts to draft him any earlier
Honestly with that ^^^^^ draw i'd be disappointed if we didn't make top 8. I think the youth excuse is wearing pretty thin - we've got enough quality in the 20-25 age bracket and these players should be ready to take their games to a new level. Collingwood had a relatively young list last year remember.
Their youngsters are a tad overrated methinks.
Ziebell's a plodder with just OK skills.
Guys like Greenwood, Atley, Cunnington can find the pill but have kicking deficiencies. And i dont rate Hansen at all.
Essendon have some tall timber down forward Hurley, Ryder, Carlisle, Cramari,Gumby - not sure we can contain them all with Frawley out. Hurley especially looked powerful against bris, StK.
