It is disgraceful that the Leader of the Opposition (our alternative Prime Minister) is effectively undermining CAS's decision, without any consideration for the clean sportspeople that represent our country.

He clearly hasn't read the judgement so appears a bit of an uninformed dill!

    Distilled calumny

That is not the import of what I heard him say

    " Stalin was a hero.... "                               as a quote

" Stalin was a hero to many people "         as the full quote

Dog-whistle reaction to Susan Ley's ridiculous assertion that this mess is the result of Labor's "political interference"

  2. I'm actually not a huge fan of Leunig but there are two of his offerings that someone with more internet savvy than I could perchance link to

    you're all individuals : no I'm not

     and

the one where the pervert is thrown out of the strip bar ( it's an old one )

having typed that, I will now revert to the safety of groupthink to which I am inextricably and irrevocably wedded

Apologies to all : I promise improvement in the NewYear and that is my unequivocal resolution for 2015

Didn't he tip in a couple of mill of his own money?

Not a great President, but was there when we needed him, committed to the red and blue, and no worse than most presidents we've had.

Why the desire to bring him down?

BTW, who was the President who sacked Norm Smith and started "the curse"?

It was five and no one could be sure MFC would still exist without that contribution.

Like Brian Dixon, it would be good to see him included in the family once again ( never said he was perfect neither - I've read some of the court judgement summaries)

those that may want a refresher on the AFL charge sheet

    AFL charge sheet

    Fascinating document

surprisingly detailed and not leaving some of the players ( by which I mean the big guns in admin, not the ones wearing footy boots necessarily) looking too flash

    Thanks for the link

  5. Agree with you Dee-Luded as I'm sure anyone with a basic training in science and an associated concept of cause-and-effect will also.

But the current share price of Blackmores should serve as a sobering reminder that a significant proportion have disengaged the logical reasoning circuit.

All I really care about is that my coal mine shares yield above 5.5% and I'll be happy to let my grandchildren deal with the fallout.

  6. Jimmy wearing no. 37

Must say he showed a lack of discipline on a number of occasions in this game

Makes interesting viewing when you consider what was about to happen with Gary Buckenara

Melbourne were strong, skilled, determined and played for each other

That was a very exciting time

  7. Jake Carlisle potentially could have a serious drug problem and the AFLPA told his management to sweep it under the carpet instead of addressing the issue and helping the player.

When you asked me how I was doing

or was that some kind of joke ?

    R. Zimmerman from his song entitled "ALFPA"

  8. And nor should it. Said it before and say it again the players were insane to agree to including use of illicit drugs outside of match day testing. In any case he hasn't tested positive and for all Jake and anyone else knows what he thought was coke might have been talc

Talc being " possibly carcinogenic" , this story shows what a brave lad Jake is

  9. That's comforting!

i will never forget watching Matthew Richardson playing his first game.

    Awkward, slight, gangly etc etc

Shane Warne too - he bowled way too fast and flat for his leg spin to be of any effect in his first game for Victoria.

Hats off to those who can view the future through the thick glass at the end of a bottle

  10. His sister was on the news here earlier, she made a valid point:

"Wadya fink he's gonna do when people get all up in his face?"

To the eternal diminution of justice, the provocation defence has been abolished.

    ( in Victoria

    maybe not in WA ?)
