You’ve got to love Lethal calling for police involvement. Wonder if there is a statute of limitations of the McMullin incident?

Is that the one where he ran past a first game Melbourne player who never played again?

    If so pot kettle black

Ridiculous, especially considering Andrew's the best looking of the bunch!

From the looks of this photo, the mouth guard has done its job and the lower jaw which is not covered by the mouth guard has been broken.

Teeth involved in the fracture line (apparently) have been removed.

It’s a shocking injury and I think that’s why some people (but not others) become slightly emotional

This time next year brayshaws teeth and Jaw will be fine.

Sorry to say this is not your finest work.

    (a)

At what point will bone be added to replace post extraction/traumatic bone loss so that implanted teeth can be placed?

    (I’m guessing Dec 2018)

    (b)

Could there be spiral root cracks that might take years to manifest?

    See (a)

What on earth would happen if a similar blow - accidental or not - was delivered in the future to this sophisticated repair work?

Totally agree with your initial assessment but.

This kind of action needs to be eliminated from the game

Geelong game is worth 8 points to us in the run home. It's gives us 4 and takes 4 away from Geelong who should be going in as slight favourites gown at Geelong.

Beating them is so important to our finals chances.

Just remember Geelong starts with a five goal umpire advantage which consists of two dubious frees in front for the Cats and three not awarded to us.

    It’s a rabid atmosphere there

  6. Sorry

    someone gots to say it

Isn’t it amazing how a team full of players who don’t deserve a game because they are VFL standard

    are now completely in control

Maybe they’ve all had what BC had at half time in that GF

  7. What a strange game

we had it won inside 15 minutes in the first.

so we relaxed and let them back  into it.

The umpires seemed to me initially to be on a mission not to allow the brand not to be embarrassed,  but then unashamedly pursued a reversal of the natural order agenda as a brand-enhancing upset became a possibility.

You do seriously have to question whether there is any accountability for the absurd decisions that seem to be being served up to us weekly because our club is regarded as polite and therefore accepting of whatever shisen is dealt out to us.This sadly just won’t happen to a power club and I suggest this more out of sorrow than anger.

Was there any examination of that Melksham free last week? (I don’t know - I’m asking)

I understand that the game is a difficult one to umpire but there have been so many examples of umpires bending to the will of crowd pressure (not saying that was today but) and making crucial mistakes that surely it’s time for this to be front and centre for public discussion

I actually was disgusted today at the frees ignored, overlooked and not awarded to MFC but awarded each and every time to St Kilda

Back to the first point, the killer instinct that we displayed against Adelaide seems to have evaporated into the ether

Northey is no nong ADC..he would be astute sufficient to note things we need to address and how.

I wasn't requiring the entire solution just his view.

    Sorry BB

we didn’t go there and he wasn’t giving free advice to the peasants  -  possibly would have if asked.

He might also have said that we had had a bad day

  9. Going home on the tram after the game on Saturday, my wife and I started chatting with a guy about my age, with his brother.

Friendly bloke, interested in the game and like us, a bit subdued about the day.

I commented to him that the game reminded me of one in the Peter Daicos era, early nineties , one to which we had dragged all five of our children and with the same thing happening  outplayed, outscored and the icing on the cake as we walked up the aisle afterwards was to have Collingwood supporters looking down on us yelling

‘it’s like having all your worst nightmares come true innit ?’

This chap in the tram said ‘ I remember that game

                                                     I was the coach ‘

He offered me a selfie and a Kleenex

Thanks John Northey -   a real gentleman and a pleasure to talk to.

Just wish we could have met under different circumstances .......

I watched 3/4 of that game, the umpiring in parts was disgraceful. Crows lost a couple of early goals because of it.

If the AFL wants to benefit from gambling then punters should be made aware of which teams will be favoured week to week by the umpires.

What we need is a third umpire review system for general run of play decisions

Whoever gets dropped next week will be unlucky.

Let's wait and see how the Casey game unfolds tomorrow. 5 goals or more to Garlett could pose a fascinating conundrum.

We need to start thinking outside the box

the Rules of The Game Committee has already come up with numerous interesting changes to the game and it’s time they considered 19 players on the field to make the spectacle better

  12. With Jack having apparently visited PA to view the facilities it's looking increasingly like he's out the door  and I must confess to feeling disappointed

I hope that we win in the trade rather than simply farewelling him with no adequate recompense and that list management with a view to improvement is the motivator as against a see-you-later decision which will probably see the new club do way better than with the Sylvia deal ( trade coup of the decade?).

One thing Jack can do is deliver a precision kick in the arms of, for example,  Jesse Hogan and this is a skill our team does not have a lot of  -  we have great ballgetters in Viney, Jones but it doesn't seem like laces out is on their resume.

The injury he had this year was likely related to the fact that we played him as a ruckman when Max went down, and he did his best and uncomplainingly.

Hopefully we won't have the same sort of injury list next year and unless we get real good compensation I am in the one year extension camp.

But the die is cast it seems and the question will be asked ultimately: how could Jack have been managed more effectively?
