Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
Watching some of those introductions it occurred to me the Smith would make a good replacement for Nibbler with a higher ceiling.

Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
I think we are beautifully positioned to win another flag or two over the next 3-5 years via the combo of youth and very talented premiership players. Similar to the Pies and Cats of recent years, get the blend right and it can be unstoppable.

Gary Pert Quits as MFC CEO
Are there any former MFC players with the skill and experience to step into the CEO role?
-
Tim Membrey
You are a curious cat Picket with your love of Jefferson yet no faith in our forward line talls… Membrey adds little and would only stymie the development of the talls we have. Hardly us “sitting on our hands”.

Could we tempt Port for Houston with pick 9..?

Oliver Trade Rumours
My view on the Oliver situation is that we, the MFC management, have decided to take off the mollycoddling gloves and call him out on the behaviors that continue and are problematic. That part of this process is to let him know if he doesn’t like it, he can look elsewhere and if he can get paid the same and the MFC are fairly compensated (picks) then we’d be open to parting. But not at our expense (I.e. we’re not paying his salary elsewhere nor accepting unders). The point being forcing Clarry to realise how good he has it at MFC and to light a fire under him to take more responsibility for his behaviour. Pert has the role of bad cop in this, others I’m sure are playing the good cop role. it’s an internal player behavior issue that has, unfortunately, spilled into the public space. Which may be a good thing if it gets Clarry back focused on footy, and more mature in his interactions with club and players… just speculation :)

Oliver Trade Rumours
Reckon that Trac has requested this. Explains his decision to go overseas for the B&F, so as not to be called out for demanding “Clarry goes or I go.”… just speculation, but the pieces are not disconnected…

Expectations for 2025
Top four and in mix for flag. Shove it up the doubters and media.

Season 2024 Over for Clayton Oliver
With Clarry there is the correlation vs causation question..? When he’s in best form we win flag, when his form drops our form drops. Part of our recent success has been due to our midfield being so good we could play one less in the middle and still break even… with advantages elsewhere. Clarry was a huge part of that. So if he can get back to his best, he’s one bird in the hand that you’d never trade for two in the bush (even high picks). Trac similar.

A poor man’s Spargo. 😉

Dan Houston
The fact he had a brain fart and outed himself from Port’s finals campaign means his papers may be stamped, bridges burning and there’s a deal to be done…

With all this great press and attention with many chapters to go. Maybe the Petracca’s genius plan is to build the MFC into a “Big club!” So he can be sufficiently adored. win win Go Demons- Trade Targets
I'd say we've added Rivers, Tholthrop and potentially McVee to our midfield stocks this year... Darkest before the dawn i say :)- Christian Petracca
Tracs not going anywhere. i don’t know the details of his current contract, but he struck it at his high water mark, and NO club is going to offer a recently seriously injured 29 year old gun player a better five year deal than he’s on now. And there’s zero chance the MFC would pay part of his salary to facilitate a trade. It’s all smoke and bravado.- Christian Petracca
… and don’t call me “ Shirley”. 😉- Christian Petracca
Apologies if this has been noted (I skip pages…) but it would seem unlikely that Trac at 29 and coming off a serious injury would get a deal at another club that comes close to his current deal. As such I’m treating this as part petulance, part media beat up and trust that saner minds will prevail, and Trac will be there for Round 1 2025. Go Demons!- Welcome to Demonland: Pick 5
Can we trade up? Getting another champion midfielder as Trac, Viney and Oliver age is essential. Best we can. - Christian Petracca
