  1. Surprised that one got through the censors bitty.
  2. Lumumba is contracted for next year. He cannot go into the PSD. We must do a deal with the Filth, who will most definitely try and screw us. But Paul Roos is a very smart man, do not underestimate his ability to play the game, and Taylor knows first hand how the Filth work.
  3. Is sveldt a Swedish cousin of yours BBO?
  4. Nice thought. But reality says players mainly want 2 things, big money and premiership medallions. If he comes to us it will be because we offer him sooooooooooooo much money he's prepared to accept he may never get a medallion.
  5. You're back? That's a quicker dinner than my kelpie can eat. He's probably neater too.
  6. No different from Adelaide ATM.
  7. She'll need to drink a sht load of Barossa red to kill the germs from your filthy hands mate.
  8. Is that you Schwabby?
  9. I bet she's freekan out at the thought of eating something you cooked.
  10. Better than waking up with a hangover next to a badly wrapped kebab Biff...
  11. That would be Dangerous.
  12. You must eat kilos of tomatoes and cheese every morning then...
  13. Could've started a chat about Viagra though pdees!
  14. Would also be happy with Sheil and Brayshaw chook.
  15. Hopeful he goes elsewhere?
  16. You'd have won the race comfortably Biff, if they put a white line at the end.
  17. How many of us would be so negative if we were in Hawthorn's situation? I'd be loving it. Sure the comp is bias, sure we lose players to big clubs, but truth be told, ours is a situation of our own making. We should be consistently in the top 4 with the opportunities we've had. Extremely poor decisions have cost us dearly. I don't begrudge the power clubs, I'm just very jealous. As a Melbourne supporter, however, I took little interest in today's game. Helped a mate move a couch.
  18. I hear you Sue, you don't want all our eggs in one basket and you don't think any one player will be the messiah, both of which are simplistic clichés which cannot really be applied to something as complex and considered as recruiting and list building. Melbourne rarely (actually, pretty much never) gets the opportunity to trade for a fit midfield superstar at the very peak of his career. If we need to give up picks 2 and 3 and get Danger and a second rounder back, or Pick 2 and Toumpas I'd be satisfied. We will also get the opportunity to trade for other players, perhaps pick up a DFA or two, as well as select a couple of young players in the draft (eg, Stretch). And we get the same chance to further build our list in next year's draft. Imagine this year if we got Dangerfield, Stretch, Frost, Lumumba, Gwilt, one or two second round picks and a smokey late in the draft. If we gave up The Toump as part of the Dangerfield trade, you could possibly throw in Brayshaw as well. That sounds mighty tempting to me. I'll agree to disagree with you on this. It sounds like the Dangerfield discussion is moot anyway.
  19. Hawks clearly getting the better of the umpiring decisions. How often have they allowed Hawks to hang onto swans without the ball?
  20. demoneyes, you should not venture onto the GF day thread. Remember last year!?
  21. I can't believe my eyes... a Melbourne supporter saying that they don't want Danger because he might get injured, despite rarely missing a game in the last 5 yrs! Now I've read it all. So how about the 2 good players you mention don't perform to expectation and we missed out on a chance on a fit and firing Dangerfield? Basing recruitment upon 'what if he gets injured' is dumb recruitment. Clark had significant injuries at Brisbane before coming here, we knew that, took the risk and lost. But yeah, sure, GAJ was a big mistake for the Suns. Don't know why they went for him. Haha. Now that's a risk I'd love Melbourne to take: GAJ vs. possible injury. Hmmmmmm.......
  22. Correct Sue, the past does not predict the future 100%. Because if it did, we'd be far better trading for Danger than developing a couple of kids that "may" step up to his level. Our development has sucked big time. We need established players now, Roos has said this, and Danger delivers that in spades and rarely misses games. It's a no brainer, really. If he chose us to move to, we should move heaven and earth to get him. Star player Dangerfield vs. a couple of players that may step up. I know which one if take!
