I think you are confusing most poster's respect for the victim's privacy as to mean we do not care. For us to not know the name of the victim, the circumstances surrounding the AVO or it's breach is a good thing, and more than likely what they want. Not one person on here has said they do not have sympathy for the AVO victim. Of course we do.

No one is denying that. There are two important stories here. One, that he is accused of the things you mention, and second that Laidley's privacy was illegally breached by police officers (two have now been suspended). A third story is of a life spiralling out of control apparently from drugs/mental health issues. There are only losers in this whole situation. I would've thought it good for the victim's sake that little has been leaked about the charges Laidley is likely to face. If not for the alleged offender, then privacy for the victim and associated families should be paramount. It may also affect the integrity of the case against the accused. In this case, the image of Laidely's mugshot from Vicpol database has his MNI on it, which would make Vicpol furious. Vicpol do an valuable and unenviable job, particulary during current lockdown, but the person within the force who leaked these is truly dumb and deserves what they get.

So if they are not getting paid, are you ok for them to do no training or any other work with the club? And accept they'll be completely underdone when games resume? I too find their position annoying, but I do not believe they should hand back all their contract, I'd think 50-70% would be more likely. This may well be the case if the players opt out or the season is cancelled altogether. The AFLPA have talked about further contract cuts if delays continue beyond the date agreed upon (whenever that is)
