I don't GAF about these players or their individual penalties, I just think it's been whipped up into a hysterical frenzy by the media and become more about revenge, perception and the bottom line (sponsorship, IPL, etc) and less about proportional response. Will this stop players ball tampering or behave poorly? Fat chance.

Really? What a lot of rubbish. Granted, he's not likely to play ruck or a key position, but with about 10 years potentially left in his career you don't think he could develop into a rebounding hbf or a high half fwd? I certainly think barring injury he could. But I'm sure we'd all like him to succeed in the midfield.

Yep, new ball more often and no 'manipulation' of the ball at all. No shining one side, no sweat or saliva, no returns on the bounce, only umpire to adjust ball. Min penalty 10 runs and match fee. I know you are having a laugh DAG, I just wanted to point out Pedo's centring kick to Max was textbook perfect. I'm sure they work on those plays at training, but it couldn't have worked out any better (except the score, of course). Pedo may not be quick or the most skilled footballer, and he's getting a bit old in the tooth, but he plays his role for the side pretty damn well

Oliver needs to round out his game with more kicking. He's a good kick and overhead mark. Can't be on his knees shooting out handballs for the next 10 years. I saw him move forward a number of times during the Geelong game, perhaps dragging opponent out of their comfort zone. More goals would also round out his game further

He has a point. Oliver, Jones and Lewie are all good kicks and don't do it enough, particulary Oliver, of course.

Actually, he did. There was video on twitter last week of Oliver doing 90 deg turns and repeat kicking on his left foot to a team mate. Goodwin might remind him of this during his weekly review
