  1. Would still like us to have a crack at Wallis from WB. Think he might be gettable
  2. Speaking of selection of players to travel to Darwin, I have heard that Demonland's very own cross dressing royalty will be in attendance at the game. Rumour has it he/she will be part of the half time entertainment, perhaps involving music and interpretive dance....
  3. Surely you jest. I've read some silly comparisons to Rioli on this thread, but Bayley Fritsch has to take the cake. Time to take the rose coloured glasses off mate.
  4. Aren't we forgetting that Garlett has been very underwhelming in the magoos? What happened to rewarding form at VFL level? Inconsistent selection choices yet again imo
  5. If GCS and/or Adelaide hold firm, match or threaten to match any offer, they should be able to trade for Lynch and Sloane. GCS could possibly get a good compo pick if they let him go for nix. In short, what have Hawthorn got to trade with? I don't think they have many picks after the Omeara deal. Can they still trade more future picks under AFL rules? They'll probably have to give up quality players to get quality. Shiel isn't a FA and he's in contract. They would definitely have to give up one or maybe two 1st rounders for him I don't think it's that easy for the Hawks to achieve. But I also thought that about Omeara and Impey
  6. Iirc, he started as a mid but became more of a goalscoring forward as his career progressed. Didn't he win the Coleman once or twice and nearly kick a ton one year? But as you say, it was a different game back then with much different roles than now
  7. 915 goals at 3 per game as a midfielder is astounding dc!
  8. Great training report again Kev. Much appreciated. Look forward to reading more of them from you in the future
  9. My Hawthorn mates are certain Lynch and Sloane will be wearing poo & wee next year. Sizzle $650k, Vickery $500k, maybe Silk on $400k gone as well. That's a truck load of salary cap space And for those thinking Jeffy is close to the level of Rioli, I suggest you look at the AFL website '10 best moments of Cyril'. All of those highlights run rings around anything Jeffy has done.
  10. Bang on Chazz. Get the best available. Loyalty in AFL is an illusion
  11. Maybe we should take a leaf out of the Boomers book of fighting back
  12. He could be in an induced coma and still know this stuff!
  13. I've got a 2004 Corolla for sale too.
  14. To be accurate, he did get a penalty ($1500), but no suspension.
  15. We have a few who are quick, but have average foot skills or just don't get enough of it. Hunt is a poor kick, Stretch goes missing, Baker is apparently a poor kick as well. Then we have a number who aren't quick but have good foot skills, e.g. Salem, Jetta. Unfortunately, Lewis and Vince now struggle with both. Would be ideal to pick up/trade for someone quick off the mark who can use it well
  16. Dunny chose to break Roosy's defensive set plays by kicking a torp down the guts after a behind, only too watch it sail back over his head for a goal. He didn't play again for us. If you're going to defy the coach's instructions you'd better get something special out of it. He is a battling servant and by all accounts a ripping bloke. But I always thought he played the percentages to cover his man only, which suits another era of AFL. I recall him doing this repeatedly at Docklands vs Saints. It hung teammates out to dry everytime because he wouldn't leave his man to help. Different team and coach, different game plan, different player. Hope he recovers quickly. Long term I'd much rather have Omac, Lever and eventually, Petty. Small, skilled defenders with pace are what we need going forward.
  17. Nothing like an ugly loss to bring out the angry illiterates.
  18. Thanks, I forgot he was the coach.
  19. Gaff is just ok, but only if he won a B&F or finished top 3 in the Brownlow or was an AA, then I'd want him at the Dees
  20. How dare you let facts and reason get in the way of childish defiance!
  21. The industry they are in is football, not a share price, dividend driven market. And yes, they still do the equivalent to meat raffles, eg. Silent auctions for wine, jumpers, president lunches, etc. CEOs in real business don't do that. Missed the point again. Keep going if you wish. I'm out.
  22. Missed the point again. Let's move on chap
  23. Sorry chap, you missed the point, which was that I was surprised PJ wasn't involved in any way. Not sure which bit you are struggling with, unless you don't trust him or disagree with his opinions. The admin is part of a football club, which is not like a "normal business". Comparing a footy club with a normal business is a mistake, otherwise we would've folded years ago Caro has better intel than you could ever hope to salivate over. Sour grapes
