  1. At least you know what you're getting with Joel Mac, and that is 100% effort for 4 quarters. We could do a lot worse than playing him.
  2. The Kings are definitely a team that plays their best hockey in the Spring. They'll be dangerous... I can easily see them hoisting the cup at the end of all this. Detroit and Chicago are currently tied 1-1 in the 3rd. I think Pittsburgh will easily account for the Bruins, and if anyone is going to beat the Pens, their goalie will have to steal a few games. I think Quick and Howard are both more than capable of doing this, but I'd put my money on the Kings knocking off the Wings (if they make it). I can't see Chicago getting past Pittsburgh.
  3. Boys were training the house down. Cale Morton stopped by and said that the standards were way better than he was used to at West Coast, and that he'll be requesting a trade back to the Dees in October in the hope that he'll be able to crack the top 15 runners at the club. Rohan Bail hit every single target laces out; Gillies looked agile, quick and made great decisions; Sellar was nailing every shot from about 60m out against the breeze. Then I woke up.
  4. I think that I might be the jinx responsible for the failures of the Dees, Blue Jays and Maple Leafs. Maybe I should give up following sports...
  5. Leafs win! Game 7 is tomorrow night (Tuesday AM in Oz) in Boston. The winner will play the winner of NYR and WAS, also being played tomorrow night.
  6. Leafs pick up another win in Boston! I think this one will go 7, but Boston will come out on top. Every game tonight was great; Anaheim came back from a 3-1 third period deficit to force overtime, but the Red Wings managed to come away with the win. Washington beat the Rangers in another overtime game on a goal from Ribeiro (can't stand him). Sorry about your Canucks, Macca. I'm sure you'll have the Leafs as company soon enough. I'm disappointed to see Ottawa go through...their fans are unbearable!
  7. I saw today that Boston are 11-1-1 in their last 13 home games against the Leafs; I'm not very optimistic about this one, and that's coming from a guy who thinks the Dees have a chance every week. This is a pretty good site that will stream all the games for free, if you're interested: http://atdhe.eu/
  8. Unfortunately I have to agree that Boston will be much too strong for the Leafs. They seem to be the team that we always struggle against. Here's my picks: Minnesota v Chicago--> Chicago in 6 Detroit v Anaheim--> Detroit in 7 San Jose v Vancouver--> Vancouver in 6 Los Angeles v St Louis--> St Louis in 7 New York Islanders v Pittsburgh--> Pittsburgh in 5 Ottawa v Montreal--> Ottawa in 7 New York Rangers v Washington--> New York Rangers in 6 Toronto v Boston--> Boston in 5 :'( Pittsburgh to win it all.
  9. He's been good the last two weeks; his first three weeks were garbage.
  10. I guarantee you that if he were in the side and not a rookie, there would be threads going around about how useless he is. Promoting Magner will not solve our problems.
  11. The scoreline does not do that performance justice. We should have lost by 10+ goals.
  12. BACK UP WHEN YOU'VE TAKEN A MARK SO THAT YOUR KICK DOESN'T GET SMOTHERED!!! FOOTY 101
  13. Letting James McDonald go and firing Norm Smith were worse decisions.
  14. They just open us up so easily through the middle. Why are we so unaccountable? How do four Brisbane players get clear in the centre of the ground with not a Melbourne player within 50ft of any of them?
  15. That's Rodan's first goal as a Dee, I believe.
  16. He does it every single game. That's the type of thing that he should be dragged for.
  17. When Hogan, Dawes and Clark are in the lineup, Watts will not be playing as a forward. At least not for Melbourne.
  18. Good quarter by Watts... kicked two goals when he had to.
