  1. As a kid I'd go with my dad and sister , sit up in the 1st tear of the grandstand on the outer wing .

Was a great spot for watching the game unfold . Sometimes I'd cringe when the old man got into verbal stouches with opposition supporters thinking that any minute I'd have to defend him and we'd all topple over the edge.

When I get to games nowadays , it's mostly still with the old man and sister accept now it's gone full circle , the old man is the quiet 1 while I find myself struggling to resist flying the flag against ferals bad mouthing our club  .

Usually sit in a pocket on the fence now (mainly due to my sister) , alot harder to see who has space etc. at the opposite end of the ground but I get a kick out've seeing and hearing the body contact and big goal square clashes etc close up . Gotta say I enjoy giving the opposition players a spray from close qrs too .

Living up the bush I don't get to as many games as I'd like anymore and tend to get rather tribal when I do . I love the crowd participation as much as the game , the oohs and ahhs , the roars of approval from our supporters when we are putting it together . I try to make my little patch a hostile environment for opposition clubs but often tend to settle around 1/2 time as my voice is just about shot by then , must learn to pace myself .

Watching the Demons on a roll is great for the soul . B)

  2. The 2000 GF thuggery was as much our fault as theirs .

I couldn't believe that we weren't ready for it ,for the previous 15 years they had beaten us up physically whenever our young side showed abit of dash . Then we meet them in the biggest game of the year and are utterly shocked by what happenend . Blind Freddy new they we're going to target the young fellas especially as Wallace position was kept by Sheedy for that exact reason . Hardwick and Soloman we're coathanger kings while longs Cheap shot was what you'd expect from a coward .

Blokes like Neitz and Schwarz shoulda been more prepared to do some skull cracking of their own as soon as the rot started .

Tho' I dislike all our opposition I save my hatred for

    Collingwood ,Essendon & Carlton .

  3. NOTHING IS CONCRETE, HAS BEEN CONCRETE, OR WILL BE CONCRETE UNTIL HE SIGNS A DAMN CONTRACT!!

Scullz came out today to hose down the rumours and give his side of the story on where he is at and what he is thinking - which SEEMS to be leaning in the direction of a future at Melbourne.

    The kids all class .

I'll take him at his word .

  4. I like Paul Roos as a person but I couldn't handle it if he gave us the Swans game plan .

Same with what Lyon did the the Aints , turned them from exciting to boring as bat5hit .

Gotta say , though I don't like the way Malthouse handles himself with the media , I like the way he seems to get consistant effort from the Pies . They've been round the mark for years with very few A graders .

Our week on , week off , pick & choose when we come to play which has dogged us for years drives me to distraction .

  5. He'll show up looking tired and worn out and declare to the football world that he's a "Total Fricken Rockstar from Mars."

Then be ushered away by twin buxom personal assistants Candi & Brandi before further questioning .

  6. In following the advice of the money men at Velocity Sports, he's walking a very fine line between acting in self-interest and holding the club to ransom.

Lets face it , at this stage in his development , if he signs for 350-400k per season he's acted in self interest any more and he's held the club to ransom .

  7. Good work and it is important - there drafts were 99 and 01 and they got it done in 07.

    That is eight years.

So if we were to follow - 2015 would be our year with a few years of being thereabouts leading up to it.

But here we are in 2011 expecting to be thereabouts already.

Many have been sucked into the Dawks timeline .

Got up and pinched 1 considerably quicker than Geelong .

  8. The thing I want to bring up is how poorly we seem to play Etihad stadium. We really struggle without the wide open wings and flanks of the MCG !!

I think other teams are well aware of this and choke the corridor intentionally . . . . when this happens we turn the ball over so often. North did exactly the same thing to us last year . . . Just a thought, interested to hear others thouhgts on the matter.

We need to work out a way to play this ground period !

When we get done this is usually exactly what happens and we go back into our shells pinned to the half back line playing stagnent football . Clubs like North see us coming and rub their hands together .

  9. Like many, I'm a massive fan of Sylvia but has he really found true consistency? Question mark still hangs for mine. He has the tools to mix it with the Pendleburys, Hodges and Cooneys but has not yet taken his game to that level. It's critical that he does.

C'mon Col, let's see a top 10 in the Brownlow and a club best and fairest this year ...

    Good post , I agree 100%.

Has the tools to be even more damaging than the 3 mentioned IMO .

Has skills , speed and power , question mark in application tho' .

  10. Kind of reminds me of our own supporters. We were touted top 4 after last week by quite a few. This week. Crucify. Own.

Only if it's the same ones that touted top 4 doing the crucifying .

Seem to think it was more media driven anyway .

  11. 1. My general mood during the week is massively influenced on how we perform game day .

    2. Watching Moloney charge into 3 opposition players thinking he'll be able to get out the other side drives me insane and he rarely kicks to advantage on the occasions he is in the clear.

    3. Without Frawley the backline is easily panicked and it's embarrassing to watch .
