  1. I heard Drew Petrie on radio talk about these specific games from last year.

North built themselves up big time to beat us both times, because we got all the good press, and they were struggling to pay the bills and felt cheated.

We must Murder North next year.

Definately , Brad scott was saying the exact same thing when they beat us the 1st time . " We haven't had the top picks or press they have but we think we've rucruited as well as them ." type of thing .

They do seem to have recruited a stronger bodied midfield but their clog the corridor game plan works well against us . Harvey always manages to do a number on us aswell , gotta shut him down .

To tell ya the truth it sometime gives me the eeries thinking about it .

Reminds me how Thompson used to whine in the papers how St.Kilda was getting the accolades instead of the young cats .

    Look what happened there .

A case of ... What is it , MSPS ??????

  2. That is a great dream. I've had a few dreams of being in the team. It usually starts off with me getting a kick or two but then I start running through quicksand...but it always ends well anyway. Dream on!

Funnily enough I too get those dreams at times .

And usually am running my guts out in the backline for little result .

The last 1 I woke up when it dawned on me that I was 40 and I couldn't possibly be getting a game .:(

  3. The half split second I thought Petterd had that mark - it kills me to think of, but reminds me why we love this game.

Gotta agree with this 1 .

I haven't let out such a primal roar in years when I thought he'd taken it .

Scared the kids , dogs and neighbors and left me shaking for 10 minute after I reakon .

Jamar running hard into the forward line leaving Fraser in his wake for mark and goal late in the QB game .

    Frawleys chase on Jetta .

Any one of Joneseys long bombs from outside fiddy .

Any of Jurrahs stuff that just makes me let out a little giggle of amazement that he's ours .

Watching us carve up the opposition with speed and precision while going coast to coast .

Watching Sylvia unleash his speed an power .

How can the championship team be overrated?

Probably when the magpie hordes talk about their resident dynasty.

Exactly . If you listen to the ferals the next 3 flags are sewn up .

They are an even side with a game plan that has caught many on the hop .

That game plan will now come under more scrutiny from opposition coaches.

IMO we have the talent and speed to beat it and look forward rubbing Malthouses & co's face in it in a final . B)

  5. My 5yo son is a Melbourne member (through me) and a Crows member (through his grandfather). He is free to choose which ever team he likes in the future as long as it's NOT Port or Collingwood. Anyway, Melbourne has again done itself proud with our junior package at least equalling the Crows, if not surpassing it. My congratulations to the Membership Department. We are out there competing strongly for the hearts-&-minds of the next generation.

At this moment you are the greatest influence in your young blokes life .

If he turns to another club there is no-one to blame but yourself .

  6. Just some interesting tweets. Not something to take too seriously, but I like to know how the opposition (or football public in general) regard us.

And this one particularly took my fancy:

@craighutchy think your call on the dees is right on. As a pies supporter they r the only team that genuinely worry me in 2011.

This MoFo should B worried , we've got their overrated number and they know it .

  7. Yeah Mate , without belittling your time & effort ,just watched it again and I gotta agree with 'em .

Be better with just the commentating and crowd noise , the footage is great .

    Anyhoo , bring 0n 2011 , we're in for an exciting ride . :) B)

  8. Can't understand how anybody honestly bought this candy, over $50 for a piece of rubber with aluminium on it? Must have been an exceptional sales pitch...

I think they managed to get a few onto big name NBA players .

Again not noted for their intelligence but got a few Aussie rules boy's to follow the craze all the same .

  9. A wife, young kids can change the priorities of a young man. When these things come along the all mighty dollar speaks awfully loudly....

Was interested to read in Barassi's book that Norm Smith went for young players purely for this reason .

He didn't want their minds clouded by too much other than football .

  10. i think the main idea behind them is for them to be worn at night matches.

If all members did wear them, that would be a pretty cool effect through the stands.

Yep , mine will be getting a run for this exact reason .

Always thought our official caps should've sported horns anyway .

    Let your Demon out
