Sorry, constant night games are rubbish for taking kids to the footy. Particularly when most with young families live towards outer suburbia these days, your looking at 12:00am - 1:00am until you get home. Doing that with pre-teen kids every week isn't fun at all.

That said, early Sunday afternoon games aren't that great either, because they tend to clash with Jnr footy, which is typically played on a Sunday.

I am so over the AFL constantly scheduling games to suit whatever their TV masters desire as opposed to the real fans. Please give us back more of our traditional Saturday 2:10pm time slot.

Sorry, primetime night games are where the eyeballs are and everything else flows from that.
Sponsorship and advertising dollars while your team is front and center as often as they can be which keeps the membership and kids attention flowing.
Sunday arvo graveyard shift are death.

People have to open their eyes.
This is the TIK TOK entertainment era.
People can't their attention span for 45seconds without scrolling on.
You reckon they're going to watch 2hrs of monotonous defensive footy on a sunday arvo.
    Forken .... NO.

I prefer Sunday afternoon to Saturday evening.

Maybe cause Saturday evening is past your bedtime.

If we want this club to survive into the future we need to be able keep the Mobs attention (especially kids).
Play fast entertaining footy or die.

That is the result of finishing 14th 2 years in a row.

And a boring as Bat sheet game plan.
We're in the entertainment business and need to play a brand people want to actually watch.
Until we prove we can ..... Sunday arvo it is.

    Correct decision has been made.

I am just grateful he didn't end up at Geelong, that would have the bitterest of pills.

I won't begrudge him a flag at the Giants. Go well Clarry.

IF Oliver can help Hogan get a flag I'm all for it.
Just as long as Hardwick doesn't get another one.

I'd rather be boring and win a flag than be entertaining and watch teams cut us up every other week.

    Could be just me.

You wanna fill the MCG, get prime time games, sell memberships, attract sponsors and inspire kids to follow Melbourne and build the supporter base.
You don't bore them to tears.
    You play fast exciting footy.

    We're in the entertainment business.

  6. Ya know when the season starts and 2-3games in you realise all the pre-season talk of a new faster gamestyle has all been BS and you're just watching the same stale stuff that didn't work the year before ....
Well it's not going to be like that this year.
Yes there will be teething issues no doubt but at least we're trying to head forward.
I'm excited to see something different to the boring gameplan Goodwins been dishing up.
Hope King brings what he's been selling.
Looking forward to it being far more entertaining.
Cáuse we are in the entertainment business.

Maybe, but Bedford was on our list for 3 years, then exploded for GWS.

Maybe cause Goodwin only gave him a game here and there to come on as a sub.
We were crying out for genuine speed yet he kept playing Spargo.
He hobbled us and blew a chance at least 1 more flag being stubborn and boring.
Shoulda got rid of him 2yrs ago.

Personally losing Clarry hits harder than Petracca, I really thought he was coming good towards the end of the season and would have a spot in the team moving forward. Sad end for a guy who will always be an MFC champion and one of the best players to ever wear the red and blue.

Not expecting us to get much at all for him.

    100%
    He's my favourite player.
I dunno what he's like around the club but it pains me no end a 4 time Bluey winner, 3 time All Australian, 2 time AFLCA player of the Year and 1 time Premiership gun has found himself on the outer somehow.
And looks like we're willing to cough our Champ up for bugger all.
    Speechless.

What? And be like Snott? Goody had many shortcomings. But one of them was not making a complete [censored] wit of himself at every presa.

    C'mon man.
He talked of learning for years at pressers but refused to learn.

All the close losses we've had recently suggest maybe we do think were losers.

Well, makes me think we're losers.
And the clubs capitulation since the GF certainly doesn't help things at all.
We flashed in the pan during a year we played in empty stadiums and then won the flag in freakin' Perth.
I couldn't even watch the game with my old man and we long suffering supporters couldn't attend the festivities at the G straight after the game.
    Would have been forken Epic.
    How's them sour grapes 🤨

    But back to Cameron.
Clearly a clash of heads, should have been assessed but rules go out the window on GF day.
Especially when the player concerned is an AFL/Geelong/media darling.
And Stanley should be insulted that the coach thinks a one armed Cameron would be more productive than himself.
    Should look for another club.

Also noted we didn't have to listen to Chris Scott whining about playing home finals this year.
Reckon the President told him to pull his head in as he come out and said they we're happy to play their games at the MCG.

  11. Nah, stuff Chris Scott and the Cats.
Sick to death of 'em in finals.
    We played 'em in '19.
Again in '21 and we've gone to sheet and they're still there.
    Pizzzes me off.

    Carn Fagan and the Lions.
I only know 1 lions supporter and he's a good fella.

you're the bro who raised stats.

    Ahh ... No I didn't.
I asked for marks and bags.
And forget the uncontested marks Pendlebury might accumulate.
Let's not forget Flower played 150games less.

Comparing each players career stats would not work out for you @Fork 'em. So I'll STFIH 🤣. And i already acknowledged in my original post that Tulip was a better mark.

Couldn't care less about your "Stats".
Flower spent his career as a Wingman, Half Back Flank and Half Forward and played 150games less.
