  1. I think Max's comments were brilliant but are as much about putting an arm around Luke and showing that he supports him either way, as they are about trying to sway his decision. Great leadership, but I don't know whether it changes my view on the situation all that much. Last time the media were so sure about a player leaving us Tom Scully had just held a press conference telling us he wanted to be a one club player.
  2. Brayshaw going to the middle allowed Salem and Rivers to play more familiar roles - I saw this as a huge positive for the team. Where do you both see Gus playing out the year, and if Harmes is cleared to play, does he automatically come back in?
  3. Binman speaking to his disciples: '..and on the eve of the 20th round the great curse will be lifted and we will be triumphant once again'
  4. Flag hopes finished? Did you watch the game on Friday? Destroyed a legitimate contender on their home deck. Weid didn't get the ball, but he didn't get outmarked - halved alot of contests and played his role in the conditions. Sometimes that's enough.
  5. Not sure how anyone can say he's finished. He's not in great form and is potentially destined to always be more of a backup 22 player, but he's needed on our list IMO. Our other KPF stocks are aging and injured (Brown and McDonald), young (Roo) or on the way out (Jackson). Unless we somehow flush ourselves with walk up 22 quality tall stocks Weid is not finished imo
  6. I assume it's the AFLs obsession with being like an American sport. Meat head commentary and all.
  7. How good was Rivers?!
  8. Hibbo appreciation post. Having a stellar year. Essential that he remains fit for our finals chances imo
  9. At the ground I thought he competed reasonably well all night. Played a role but will be replaced by BBBB
  10. Entire team = great team effort
  11. Still Wowoden 🔴🔵
  12. You going to the game mate? Sounds like the after party is at yours haha
  13. Anyone that is still potting Gus can GTFO. Heart and soul, arguably won us the flag thanks to his 3rd Q, and brings class in whatever role he's put into. Will retire as a club legend.
  14. Yeah. I don't watch much freo games but Young is a jet and needs to be given the due respect.
  15. 100% I love his work.
  16. Good pod. Says nothing about loading- just tailoring programming for players and roles and a strategy to go hard at training to replicate match intensity
  17. CLOSE THREAD!
  18. Ask him about a correlation between training loads and our form, then call into the demonland podcast to reveal the answer to @Demonland and @binman live on air 😅
  19. Indeed. I can only presume he expected a long/lucrative offer after a premiership year and our original offer was lower/shorter than he thinks is reasonable. It's the only way that he goes from that interview to assessing his options imo
  20. Yeah, and the same bloke who has parents that take in players every year too. I think that's why there is such an emotional reaction on this thread
  21. I get it. I was more musing out aloud than really suggesting anti-loading theory. Carry on
  22. Totally get it. But for me the change in intensity in training seems at odds with the suggestion that our form has been effected by loading. The opposite almost seems plausible- ie. The harder we train the better we play, and you can't train super hard all year so we leave it to the end of the season haha. I assume loading is more about gym work and km's in the legs, but it's an interesting contradiction
  23. This seems to be at odds to what I'd have thought was the case? (unless the sessions are short and sharp). Intuitively I'd have thought intense match simulation sessions would cause more fatigue than other training styles.
