  1. Azz apologies not into point scoring normally. Just wishing for plenty of goals this year. TC
  2. As once written ‘brevity is the soul of wit’ Big William
  3. According to the ‘sensitivity readers’ this term is now subject to immediate revision. Henceforth to be known as the ‘enormous side kick’ Yours truly Augustus Gloop
  4. Effectively second year as his first year was virtually a write-off with injury. That game at the ground formerly known Kardinia Park was oddly memorable. Heavily rain affected, Casey dominated in the first quarter 6 goals to zilch and consequently went missing allowing the Geelong side to dominate the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Last quarter Casey seemingly awoke from its lethargy and kicked 5 goals to swing the momentum massively and take the win. Bailey Laurie was the match winner IMO, given the conditions a most impressive all game wet weather performance.
  5. Here’s hoping some malevolent buzzards are ready to clean up.
  6. AFL whilst in this mood for restoring principal and prestige. Should amend the brownlow as being awarded to ‘Best Farce’ rather than Best and Fairest in the competition.
  7. Dangerfield going for Olympic gold in the high dive. He attempted a reverse triple somersault with a forward pike after the merest suggestion of contact, but only managed a belly wacker. The umpires were suitably impressed and awarded him a free kick.
  8. Andy Moniz-Wakefield and Will Verrell adding those young fellas to my book of potential debutants for the season. Has Choco repeated his ‘21 pre-season ritual of burning their birth certificates? That was some voodoo worthy of Papa Doc!
  9. “There was a public house way down in ? They called South Side Six It’s been the ruin of many a poor boy And God I know I’m one?
  10. Demonland is such a broad church from the sacred to the profane. Scientia potentia est
  11. Yarra Park looks more like ye olde Australian bush, wonder if Edward Kelly is lurking nearby? (Closet demons supporter gawn to hell). Classic J Taylor smokie from back of Mansfield way. What a physique, surely a ruck, KP prospect with plenty of mongrel to boot.
  12. Chandlermonium as a derivation of pandemonium? According to 'demons' Wiki "Pandæmonium" or "Pandemonium" stems from the Gk. "παν", meaning "all" or "every", and "δαιμόνιον", a diminutive form meaning "little spirit", "little angel", or, as Christians interpreted it, "little daemon", and later, demon. It roughly translates as "All Demons", but can also be interpreted as Παν-δαιμον-ειον, Pandemoneios or "all-demon-place". So if our little angel Kade doesn't make it this season it could be paradise lost?
  13. Yes we’re waiting for Benny’s new snap without the sideshow ‘Bob’.
  14. Kev, Richo had a valid point when he suggested we started the game with a winning mindset and often established a decent lead. But after halftime we went into our shells and attempted to save the game resulting in being dumped by the opposition's momentum wave by the final siren. If we can ride the wave this season with a whole game winning belief as exhibited in '21 we can bounce back decisively.
  15. G man that analysis of Essendon's chances for season '23 was a good read, articulate, lucid and giving the boys at Mongrel Punt and Zero Hanger a run for their money. Perhaps you should go independent too! PS Your avatar image is a bit of a puzzle? My take some poor bloke is struggling to get his prosthetic leg from under the director's chair in a movie set.
  16. Odds appear to be shortening on Judd McVee to break the duck and be amongst the first of the young uncapped guns to debut. Exciting times ahead! Go Dees.
  17. There's a 'few' lurking at other clubs including Karl Amon, Josh Battle , Aidan Bonar, Andrew Brayshaw, Charlie Constable, Luke Davies-Uniacke, Jack Gunston, Hugo Hall-Kalan, Max and Ben King, Connor MacDonald, Hugo Ralph-Smith, Jack Scrimshaw, Liam Stocker, Cody Weightman, Marcus Windhager and Josh Worrell.* Austin Bradkte was on the rookie list briefly, Jack Bell once listed at St Kilda, played with Casey last season. Paul Hopgood, Stefan Martin, Laurie Queay, Tom Scully, Tom Lynch and Stewart Loewe are Old Haileybury-VFL/AFL alumni. Scott Pendlebury and Nathan Jones will join Matthew Lloyd on the coaching panel this year at Haileybury. So it's not unreasonable to expect more AFL class recruits from this school's footy program.
  18. Yes. As long as he’s got a wicked curved beak, talons and can pick up the crumbs :)
  19. Don't think BBB is quite the liability some here believe when the ball hits the deck. As with Big Max its a long way down but IMM they don't disgrace themselves when contesting for the ball and deftly moving it on to the team's advantage when the opportunity arises. Of course the opposition defenders are going to have their say on proceedings, amongst the 'giraffes' are more agile 'gazelles' and 'wildebeests' who can quickly sweep the ball away giving the impression the big guys are lumbering in their wake. A few 'leopards' and 'cheetahs' might be required to redress the balance.
  20. Modern list management maintains the cap admirably.
  21. Are some of the DL silks amongst the track watchers?
  22. Prefer that to navigating Aguirre (Klaus Kinski) down the Amazon River!
