  1. Losss still possible. But a win would also have still been possible. There would have been 14 seconds left on the clock if he had kicked that goal. 6-6-6. Any score wins. 14 seconds is plenty of time to score from a clean centre square break - particularly given only a point is needed and so anyone kicking inside 50 could choose to kick as deep as possible (ie not to 20 metres out to maximise the chance it is not just knocked over for a point by defenders)
  2. No. It was a terrific game. Hard, fierce contest from go to whoa. The suns were impressive. And our accuracy reverted to the mean But Maxy, tracc (how about thst goal?) Oliver and Viney stood up and won us the game. Worth watching just for that. Generational stars. We won another last quarter, meaning we have yet to lose one this season. Kozzie did some brilliant things in the first half. And brodie roved Max and snapped a goal. The last minute was pulsating. They had a shot to ensure at least a draw. I won't tell you what happened next (note to self: what was may thinking?). It would have been no shame to draw (the most likey result if that set shot had been a goal) so to get four points is a fantastic result. A lot to like. Or you could watch a couple episodes of MAFS instead.
  3. He was massive in the last quarter. Particularly after the injury break.
  4. There's Robbie. Then the rest.
  5. Just listened to dew's presser. I'd suggest he'd agree with all these points. Was at pains to say how well they played and how highly he rates us. And was effusive about Anderson, noting that in addition to his crazy numbers people might not notice how much work he does off the ball. They will beat ANY opponent up there if they bring that contest and heat. Their contested ball game plan is perfectly suited for the slippery condition they so often play in at home.
  6. Arguably the best ever full stop. And I don't say that lightly.
  7. He is a machine. You'd have to have blinkers on not to see his impact. Finished with 28 disposals, despite having a hard tag (ie not a defensive mid like Dunkley's job on Cripps) on him all game – something that doesn’t happen much anymore because the oppo is basically giving up a player and coaches can drag a player doing the hard tag away from contests (which are the reasons I’ve heard goody give for not using a hard tag more often) And despite having less disposals than he normally would, Oliver had the third most metres gained (behind tracc and maxy) for us and on a night we got smashed in CP, the most contested possessions (he was two ahead of trac, four ahead of Viney – and equal second with Swallow for both teams, behind only Anderson). And top all that off he had 9 score involvements – two more than any other player on the ground. Oliver doesn’t play, we don’t win. But sure, he didn't have much infleunce. Sheesh.
  8. Both stars. Surely no one could fail to see that.
  9. Damn. Didn't even think about that.
  10. I hope I wasn't out of line with that crack about there being zero chance Spargo not getting selected if fit....
  11. I'm a extra-large or xx in shirts and tees but my current dees jumper is 3x. And it's a pretty snug fit. So, when choosing your size for the dees jumper, i'd consider going up one size
  12. Mmmm, fair to say i'm at the otehr end of that scale.
  13. Snap. Just posted this on the pre game thread: What's the deal with the VFL team yet to be announced, despite the game being in less than 24 hours and the players will have already flown up there. I've searched everywhere - including the Casey demons twitter account and nada for both us and the Suns. Seems very strange. Any insight you could share @KC from Casey?

  15. On the New Balance website the jumpers are referred to as 'unisex' so maybe there won't be an AFLW version?
  16. Dark blue long sleeves locked and loaded
  17. Every chance. Time's passed when clubs take any risk with concussion. But we'll see. If he plays in the VFL game on Saturday prior to the one's game you'd assume concussion is not a concern.
  18. Just finished listening to the interview. Terrific job Andy. Genuinely interesting from a footy perspective, with lots to unpack. And some laugh out loud bits (eg not being paid to develop young defenders) - he is a funny bugger, and a natural story teller.
  19. I am on DL on a lot, but often only engage in and/or read two or three threads at any one time. Which means that sometimes a thread such as this one pops up that has been dormant for a while and when i open it, I land on where i last read it, which is often yonks ago In this instance my last read post was immediately before the one quoted above (which was posted October last year). I hadn't read this post and just wanted to quote it because one it is a fantastic post (as is the very next one, also by godwindees) and two, everything i learned about Brodie since he has joined the dees says the post is spot on about him. Yet one more big tick for the club - what a brilliant pick-up Brodie has been.
  20. A big advantage the hawks have in this game is they are under little pressure. So can play freely. Freo players and coaching staff on the other hand are under massive pressure. Imagine if the lose this? Docker fans will lose their collective minds. And as you say their game plan is all over the shop and the players look confused. I think they will win still, but all those factors mean a loss won't surprise.
  21. Managed? Right, because it is vital their players are in optimal shape come finals time.
  22. Or alternatively, why haven’t we been doing so this season? Followed up with a question about him taking fewer kick outs.
  23. I listened to that live. It had a kicker – Horne queried whether that level of accuracy is sustainable over a very long season and into finals. And wondered whether it might, paraphrasing, cover some sins, so to speak. Cornes loved that, and was quick to say that’s one for the watch list.
  24. 100% agree with all of above. Reallt important player for us during that period. And beyond too really because clubs need heart and soul players when things are tough. They help the stages of development connect. Maxy and Jack in particular really had a long period of being in rubbish teams. Steve may too given how poor the suns were Not much chance of those boys easing up.
