Woul we want him? Definitly looking for a 2nd ruckman, and i think PJ would be delisted if we found a suitable candidate during the trade week. if not, they'll retain him
As a centre square tap ruckman, yes. Anywhere else, no. So...nope.
-
I would play Presti for Goldsack. Goldsack was only average and didn't grab his chance with both hands on Friday.
Saints to win by a few goals, Lenny Norm Hayes.
-
In no way what we need. He is far from the big, tall, contested marking bail out option that Bails has been speaking of. Just another lead up forward, and we have 4 better than him in this role as is.
-
I can vouch for it. Was in Hun, either online or printed, can't remember
Gist was MFC offered 1 year and pay cut
GC offered 2 years and about 450k extra (presumably over 2 years, i.e. 200k approx more per year).
Doesn't mean it was accurate though.
Correct. Was in Jon Ralph's online daily piece called 'The Buzz'.

Thomas won't be missing the GF, mate. Both went for the pill but the Cats player was down lower and received the head-high free-kick.
Thomas is proving ALL his doubter wrong and has had a phenomenal 2010. Many believed he would be a mere plodder in the Finals series as it was thought that the guy can't step up when it all counts.
- 32 possies (career best!) and a goal in Qtr Final vs Dogs (arguably best on field with Swan).
- 21 possies, 9 marks, 5 tackles, 1 goal in Prelim Final against the greatest team in the modern era in Geelong.
Lots of people are eating humble pie over the man many despise because of his hair and "girly" appearance. But his footy is now doing the talking AND he's a lot tougher and stronger around the ball and willing to do the hard stuff.
I'm very pleased I stuck with him this year in my DreamTeam as he averaged me close to 100 points.
The pick no. 2 is close to most improved player this year.
I may be an avid Dees man and I DESPISE Collingwood... but I'll say things how it is and one Dale "Daisy" Thomas is looking the goods going forward as is, unfortunately, Collingwood.
Exactly right, Taylor was lower and first to the ball, and was hit in the head from front on, exactly what the rule was brought in for.
This has nothing to do with it being Thomas, I know he has been excellent this year. But I'm sure he appreciates your defense, mate. If it was any other player I would say the same, because we have seen much lesser hits suspended this year.
-
Didn't notice that, but speaking of Thomas, if he doesn't miss next week through suspension for his front on hit to Taylors head then it is a joke. Exactly what the rule was brought in for.

Settle down..?
It's a valid question.
I agree, very valid. Cant see what you need to settle down about either E25...very interesting response indeed.
-
I wouldn't be surprised if we offered him a chance. Although not of the same quality as Aaron, his defensive pressure is just as good. Not a necessity, but I wouldn't be surprised.
-
Oh.
Sorry, I couldn't find it at that stage.
And one of the Hun articles I read gave the distinct impression the Hawks were getting more than any other team had received as compo so far.
But obviously not.
Ta.
I also read that Hun article first and got the same impression you did. I couldn't believe that would be right so I searched further to find the afl had announced it.
-
Compo hasn't been officially stated yet for Brown, but if you believe the hun, they seem to think he'll get a 1st round pick, rather than an after 1st round pick.
Compo was announced by the AFL yesterday as per my post above. End of first round, which is still officially a first round selection as the Hun are saying.

Liam is up there right now. He is safe. It is a very tragic situation which has erupted there, but Liam has shown incredible courage and strength of character in trying to calm everybody down.
Thanks for the update RudeBoy. I am sure we are all relieved to hear that Liam is safe and well. Liam is a credit to his community and I for one am very proud of him, as im sure everybody else associated with the MFC is.

melb has no cash to attract big name players....
Just wondering how you come to that conclusion?
-
That's right, Tappy signed a 3 year initial deal. Bruce 2010 expiry as you thought
-
IS TOM SCULLY SIGNED????!
Seriously?? Initial 2 year deal

Besides Jones, how many more are out of contract?
Bruce is one off the top of my head

Mundy has been very impressive in the Freo games I have watched this year. He will be in high demand so will cost big dollars and I am not sure we will have room in the salary cap next year with all our front-ended contracts in place.
They were speaking about him on triple m last night. He is on around 500-550k a year at Freo, so won't come cheap. That would make him our highest paid player for sure.
-
Bock and Rischitelli compo is pick at the end of the first round (after the premiers selection in their chosen draft - anybody know what happens if teams choose to use this pick in the same draft? Who goes first?)
Krakouer compo is a second round selection (directly after Ports second round selection in their chosen draft from now to 2015.

Glad you are intelligent enough to recognise the surname..may I ask why this thread has been "moved"?
I'll tack a stab at that one. Probably so it can be on the appropriate board, being drafting and trading. Not that hard is it?
-
This may seem an odd question, but what is the basis for this thread? I've been looking at the papers and the AFL site, even Jones' twitter page, and there is no mention of him being traded. Has this all come from one poster's fevered imagination?
It has come from a stupid rumour by Damien Barrett on the footy show Thursday night.
No proof or anything of the like, just a comment because he had no other real news.
During the same segment he said Andrew Walker was out of contract and looking gold coast bound...turns out he isn't out of contract at all. Quality journalist that Barrett.
-
Was moved to where, thought it was relevant, non abusive and important, can an admin person please explain?
Its on the drafting forum...the same place this thread is...
-
Jobe???
Matt. Talking draft here, not trading.
Vic Metro/Calder Cannons.
-
Is there a minimum number of draft picks that a club needs to utilize at the ND?
I believe its 3? Correct me if Im wrong anybody.

I was thinking of a way to free up Jack Grimes to go into the midfield next year while also having someone damaging and a great kick off the half back line and my thoughts drifted to nick malceski from Sydney. Thoughts people ? is he worth pursuing?
Would cost a bit. Important player for the Swans and in AA contention this year.
Can anyone help me with Grand Final tickets?

Nope. Membership is non transferable and I.d checks, although rare, do happen. The ticket itself, because purchased with the afl membership, is also non transferable. Too big of a risk for someone who has waited 8 or so years to become a full member.
