He’s played two and won two. Not all toys are shiny. He’s the future, the alternatives to him are probably not. Invest in him and it will reap dividends. One thing you know about Kolt, he brings energy and maximum effort and that is infectious in team sport.

Someone suggested this and got shouted down. Rarely have I seen such an ordinary game talked up last week and a similar game tonight talked down. Reality is there wasn’t much difference other than he got a longer go at it so people noticed.

It was a good win but don't get too carried away, Richmond were worse than terrible. A good game to get out of form players into some form. Difficult for Jeffo, he didn't do anything wrong but AJ and JvR just go everything.

It will be interesting to see Fullarton again. He didn't get in the way in the forward line last week because he was rarely there. He only played 60% game time with much of that in the ruck. His rucking was against Oscar Mac so that really wasn't a serious test. I'm struggling to see so many positives in a six possession six hit out game and I worry about Max having to do so much rucking. But he was part of the winning team so deserves his second go. Really the choice between Tom and Tom isn't going to define the game.

Is it possible to have an opinion that isn't "personal"? Anyway I agree with you re Campbell. If Nank gets Gawny, which he always tries to do, we have Fullarton as back up. With Campbell we have a real ruck, Campbell is a much more "belts and braces" approach. My reading if Fritta comes back that was the plan from day one. Why would you only play him for a half at Casey when he's out of form? This, coupled with Goody's comments in yesterday's presser suggest he's a good chance of coming back. If he does come back it suggests his demotion last week was a penalty rather than form.

If he wasn’t fit enough surely you’d play him at Casey to get a full game. The most sensible thing is to start him and sub him off if he runs out of gas. But really, they wouldn’t pick him if he couldn’t play 4 quarters.

I didn't want to start a new thread but do Casey have a practice match this weekend and if so, where and when? Thanks for any help.

I don’t think 12 disposals and two goals against Howes is killing him, Green is a fantastic player and Howes is still learning. IMO he’s becoming the new whipping boy much as AJ is becoming a fan favourite. It will be interesting to see how the FD react. Only forced changes this week I’d suggest unless someone really played well for Casey. May and Turner come in if fit.

I know this will be howled down but TMac is too good to not have in the 22. If May comes back I’d be moving Petty forward. AJ was poor in the ruck against Brown and JvR is much better. Jeffo has no intensity and I’d prefer Turner and Petty to AJ and Jeffo. If Spargs is ready he’s a class above Hendo. Wont happen, but that’s my take.

I have a different view to many on DL and think Howes was quite good against Freo. He had one howler in the first quarter but did well after that. He had 9 possessions in the first quarter when the game was hot and he beat Walters one on one on three occasions that I saw, unlike Salem who got turned around when Walters kicked a goal. His 15 possessions, 5 contested, were from 74% game time. Further Switkowski and Frederick didn't kick a goal so their small forwards were kept well under control. I think too many expect him to shoot the lights out whereas the FD probably want him to play solid defensive footy. To me he's a lock in the best 22 because he's tall enough to play on taller forwards and agile enough to go the the crumbers. Time will tell but I do think he's getting a bad rap from many here.

Windsor trained fully and looked good. I’d be surprised if he didn’t play Sunday. Spargs pulling on the boots for tomorrows Casey hit out.

I have a different view but I’ve only seen him in match sims at Gosch’s not in match practice at Casey. From what I’ve seen he looks very comfortable back. He reads the play well, he’s involved and his kicking and decision making is good. Others I been with have been similarly impressed. He’s a strong boy and very strong and competitive one on one. I’m not suggesting he’s pressing for senior selection, but he doesn’t look out of place.

At training today Spargs did the entire session and whilst you never call spargs animated he was just loving being out there albeit in a pretty bruise free training session. He was really involved, plenty of the ball, clean and great delivery. He’s now fully fit in terms of his body but you’d think he’ll take some time for match fitness. If he’s not best 22 he’s certainly really good depth but my guess is he plays plenty of AFL footy this year, injury permitting.

I agree with much of what you’ve said but whoever we pick must have the potential to be a valuable AFL player, not a stop gap to fill in for a few rounds until Kossie, Spargo and Kolt get back. If that’s Henderson then fine but if George or Culley have AFL potential and are better bets than Henderson for the long term then take them. We shouldn’t use a spot to fill a need for a few games. I’ve seen George at training often and he’s got lots of skill and tricks. I’ll not be disappointed if we pick him and he doesn’t play until next year.
