  1. I am not one for predictions. We've turned this sort of stuff around before. But until we bring some real physical pressure, and target them at stoppages, and hurt then, we will not win this.
  2. We have no mongrel. Apologies to Bernie and Lewis. Norf are trying to hurt us with every tackle
  3. Tmac needs to go back. We need to slow it further a bit
  4. We need Lewis... Hope we can breed our own hard nuts with a streak of mongrel. Watch Lewis on afl 360 last week. Scary individual
  5. Yeah, agree. I guess he might be an "action louder than words" person?
  6. Just watched Lewis on AFL360 Talked about running through the Crows' midfielders at the start of the game, and letting them know they would be targeting Sloane - bit of a shove. Said they went out to target Hawthorn last week, but failed utterly, so he took it upon himself to lead the way, 'cos that's what leaders to. Over the past years, Hawthorn had a few players who would do that - Mitchell Hodge Lewis Roughhead Rioli Burgoyne for starters. I'll be interested to see a similar mindset develop at the Dees, Lewis is scary.
  7. Petracca - knee/cramp/ffs/mfcss Any update on this?
  8. Re TMac. Yep he was a forward, and I think his position in defence grew out of Roos banishing Frawley to full forward.
  9. I can assure you, 64 was the greatest Melbourne have I've ever seen
  10. As the great Butch Gale (nearly) said "I tipped that". TMac forward Go Dees
  11. Some old German bloke. Beethoven. Nippy small forward. Plenty of tricks. Hard to tag.
  12. Stuck at a concert. Really appreciate the updates, Dlanders.
  13. Lagavulin. "like drinking through an ash tray", says Mrs Frankie. She's not a fan of the smokier Islay malts. But does have other redeeming features.
  14. I suspect that all of us make Old Dee's point ("We don't win") at some time. We see "the improvement" - and clearly we are better than 147, 186. We see the talent We see the good off field stuff - PJ is the saviour of this club We see the membership rise We see brilliant play. But we don't win. I'm just old enough to remember when we were feared like Hawthorn - there in 64 as a young bloke. We haven't been feared since. We don't win. No memberships at risk at Maison Frankie. But there is a quiet desparation.
  15. Just saw the reply and in the last centre bounce Hawthorn had 2 forwards. 2. All the rest packed into the backline That would have won us the game agains Free. Why can't we have leadership / coaching like that. again, FMD
  16. JKH out, Kent in. TMac to CHF. I dunno... fmd
  17. Though fearing for the safety of the computer, I watched Clarkson's presser http://www.afl.com.au/video/2017-05-07/full-postmatch-hawks Interesting.
  18. Height is deceptive - Watts is tall but, ahem, 'not strong' overhead. This is just the sort of game where his nice stuff (the tap to Hogan) is not adequate compensation for poor tackling (I know, he tackled Hodge when Hodge was stationary). He's tried his guts out and done plenty so far this year, but in games like today's, all the 6'5" blokes need to take a mark in a pack. Goes up with one hand.
  19. The perennial call from Dlanders. On Field Leadership
  20. I know. He's done good things and worked his guts out. But that non tackle by Watts...
