The only question for us is do we trust the Club. I trust PJ - 100% Goodwin - not sure yet I don't know what PJ thinks of how this is playing out. I wonder if the club will say anything else? "Last drinks" - wow. I remember the QB match where he played game #1. Went up in a pack at the city end, and didn't put his hands up for the ball - used them to protect him. Since that moment, I've been torn... can we afford to have someone who won't contest hard every time (nb - not saying everyone has to be Viney), but can play a bit:
-
Serious question: some have said that there is more to this. Do you think that's the case? What is the "more"?
-
I'm not a Watts fan, but this is the dilemma - the best person in the club to have the ball in hand. The worst senior player to kick it to in a 1:1 I feel really bad for Jack if he's being tossed out. But that's why we have a FD - to make unemotional decisions in the best interests of the Club. Hope they get this right.
-
Because he's not very good 1 on 1. When he's out on his own (like QB, and he worked <really> hard to get space), he's our best player, but he's not reliable 1 on 1. Of course, there are exception (taking on 2 and kicking to Tyson in the forward pocket), but many more times, he's beaten by smaller, less talented players with more appetite for the physical contest.

I'm a bit worried about the same thing - Viney is nowhere near out of the woods with his foot injury. We know how bad they can be (ask Trengove) - and I know that there are many different types of injuries. Not sure if we have a higher rate than other teams.

Could help noticing how upset Trac was when walking off the ground.
-
This is the most important issues facing the club. It's all about leadership. Saw Trac going to everyone - him, Viney, Oliver, Brayshaw - a few others - they are the future
-
I agree completely. Viney plays the last 2 weeks - we play finals. Our kids are fine - Trac, Gus, Oliver, ANB, Hannan, Hunt. Even Wagner, Strech. They're just talented kids. Our leaders (excluding Viney) are poor . Jones - love him, but cant seem to inspire. Vince - nuff said. Lewis - useful organiser, but not a leader. Tmac - should be, isn't. Pelo - doing his best. Hibberd - great, but not a leader at the moment. Nev - wonderful, but not a leader. That's the issue, and the answer is Viney. Get fit, kid!
-
100% agree - opposition are putting a hard tag on him (second season, 20 years old!), and I only saw Trac giving him a chop out. Jones / Tyson / Hannan need to sacrifice their game and look after this bloke a bit.
-
I think the QB match ended up with Watts in front of the Coll. cheer squad - he gave them a bit, I seem to remember

I have stayed away from the keyboard after getting home - concentrating on the red... I remember Watts lamenting "where are our leaders" in an after game presser some time ago, and I got to thinking: "who has the talent + will to get us over the line Viney - all the will, and enough talent Trac - all the talent, and getting the will Hogan - see Trac Oliver - see Hogan Gus - not yet Jones - nope Watts - never Hunt - talent + cares, but limited opportunity ANB - cares, works hard, but never going to get us over the line TMac - both, once OMac - please... I'm trying to be serious HIbberd - yep, with others up the field Max - once upon a time Lewis - in years gone by And I compare this list (incomplete) to the good teams - and it's no wonder we don't win. Only rarely can I remember someone from this team getting us over the line - Viney, Tmac once, Max once or twice. We're not good enough, and the leadership today was beyond bad.
-
Tried his heart out. He cares. That gives him a few credits for me
-
Hibberd was ok. Trac was good. Jones was disappointing
-
And why isn't tmac at CHF
-
Frost > omac and maybe tmac
-
The kids aren't to blame. It's the "leaders "
-
Not the umps. We're doing this to ourselves
-
It was easier when we were [censored]. Looking for improvement. Trying to find a highlight. But this is serious, Mum. I feel sick
-
Footy does bind us together. Generation to generation. Go Dees

The great man ... RIP And the Pies: "Will I ever see your face again? No way, get fcked , [censored] off"

Foot injury - ugh Not a good track record, those injuries. Could be one of many - hope it's not a bone
-
Might have missed it. What's the Viney diagnosis?

There have been Pedo > Watts threads for a while.... usually met with scorn. But it's true. Go Dees
