  1. I was critical of Lambs presser performance earlier this week. But kudos to him and whomever propped him for today's conference which I have just watch. In the face of relentless and mindless questions Tim stayed on message brilliantly. Well done.
  2. Likewise for wright. He was never going sideways career wise. Ready for ceo and smart planning by blues Board and Cook.
  3. Great call. The interview wasn't as diabolical as the Age's headline, but this club are ametuers when it comes to media management. Tim Lamb sent out to answer ovbious questions, fully unprepared by Media dept., where were they, and why do any media anyway. You're just giving the bottom- feeders oxygen. Communicate via controlled channels to members. Everyone else are just passers by to a car crash and don't care anyway. Big weakness in CEO's performance IMO.
  4. Me too. A senior afl staffers a friend was saying how the league are worried they're not growing the game at junior levels . Fewer kids becoming rusted on fans. Why he asked me?. I said night games. Kids don't go like we all did growing up to 2.10 games every week. Real issue for them apparently
  5. Your'e on the money IMO. Doesn't refer to ANB though- he's genuine in needing change
  6. Just had a long discussion with someone who knows and this person will drive Clayton down to GMHBA Stadium if it helps get the deal done for him to go to geelong. Tipping 900K by the Ctas and we throw in 400K ish. This chat was a second source confirming why Dr Laura resigned from the club last November. Clayton related.
  7. My hope is that it's a repeat of Dustys behaviour when he did the rounds and stayed at the times.
  8. Agree but the cats put in an effort with locking and list manager meeting him. Plus the farm offer probably. More than a testing the waters etc imo.
  9. Isn't that meant to be "..a rats toss bag.. ". According to Blighty anyway.
  10. Absolutely agree with you. But how does clarry walk back from yesterday's cats meeting. Just waiting for the spin that"... I was never really going to leave etc etc..."
  11. Not if the lobsters couldn't escape from their tanks it wasn't.
  12. If so, then this IS a circus and Pert should know better as CEO and given his marching orders. The Age has just dropped that Clarry met Rhys Stanley and Tom Stewart at Stanley's farm yesrterday arvo after meeting Hocking etc. Leaked by people close to Clarry but not to be identifed as they had no authority to speak on the record. Spare me! He's gone, in his own mind anyway, and this now can't be walked back. Move Clarry on, sadly.
  13. Who says we're shopping around clarry? The Age article doesn't. It simply says clarry thinks we are. So can somebody please tell me definitely we are or aren't.
  14. What's with the pile on. I was originally referring to the issue of playing on the G and how some postulate the G doesn't suit the swans. And yet the Gabba and scg are just about identical dimension wise. And lions coped ok in recent times. Selective meaningless stat's are irrelevant. 1-6. Hang on. Now they're Premiers
  15. So the Filth have solved their current racial vilification saga then?
  16. The Lions of 7 years ago aint the Lions of today. Whats their record since 2022? Way better than 3-16
  17. Yes maybe not. But possibly the recent work in winning multiple finals on the G (against us in 22 and this year against the Cats, plus other in season wins may point towards Fagans growth and rectifying the issue. It can be argued they were stiff in last year's GF also. The G problem for the Lions is now a rear view mirror issue IMO
  18. No your not. I am too as it opens up a much bigger re-fresh opportunity off field Providing we choose wisely.
  19. Might say somehting about Fagan and the Lions given the Gabba is very close to SCG dimenions. Only a metre longer and wider and they played it superbly. Lions cope with MCG . Swans maybe don't. This issue was raised as one reason the Roos beat them in 96. Couldnt adjust to a longer ground.
  20. Harry Garside because.........? He's got a book to [censored] I guess
  21. That back pocket plumber Kevin. And I can't type. Doesn't mean Basset can coach. Just as that type of history shouldn't preclude him
  22. Post of the day. Many thanks
  23. Some of the great coaches were back pocket players who the theory goes can see the whole field. Hence their coaching insights across the ground. Speedy jeans. Parkin. Hafey. Assets record at Norwood is second to none.
  24. Not if he's a yes man and doesn't challenge Simon. Buy hopefully he's not.
  25. Nicely said. Maynard will be foreever remebered for his act taking out Gus. Oh yeah - he played for collingwood too. Duncan Wright complained in old age how hard he was done by for the john sommerville punch. Stiff mate. Maynard will have similiar thoughts ongoing, and if he hasn't, then he's lying. Sleep well.
