WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - TOM GILLIES
Mad_Melbourne replied to dazzledavey36's topic in Melbourne Demons
Could see clint Bartram going to the rookie list or this because logically we would probably take him with pick 53 -
Would have been better to steal a few wins instead of the draws in the last few matches, but can't complain when sitting 4th, especially when we have been such slow starters in most seasons. Although it's still quite early on in the season. Yes westham have done well, Kevin Nolan is always a danger around goals, and hopefully Carroll will be able to break his duck sooner rather than later, just not against us haha! And jaaskeleinen had a ripper against Newcastle. It would be good to see the table stay a bit different to usual, champions football calling my toffees and it would help us get a bit more cash flow and would be key to help us draw a few more quality players!

After reading lots of your posts I wonder, did you watch any of the footy last year? -
COYB, any season above Liverpool is a good one, but with Fellaini being arguably the most improved player in the league, and jelavic being dangerous up front a much improved team, could be looking at champions league!

Clearly it's the people who don't watch any Melbourne matches during the year and just read the papers -

I'm not sure if it was very well publicised but he broke his leg early on in his first season, and has only had one full preseason behind him, of course he isn't going to be at the front of the pack with the other players who have had multiple preseasons! The good thing is he is catching up and actually going to do another full preseason with the group! -

This season watts when playing in the backline took several marks backing into the pack! Tynan never played kpd as a junior, no doubt he took marks overhead, but he definitely did not play on talls. It would be an mismatch putting him on a third tall/resting ruckman Sure if he grows 5 cm and puts on 10 kilos then maybe -

He's a small defender half flank if anything. 6cm and 10 kgs off rivers. Gillies, Davis, Dunn, watts and even sellar are more suited for the role. Rivers played on the resting ruck an half the time, good luck getting tynan to play that role, no doubt he will be a handy player, but surely not a kpd -

Not a bad thing, would be ahead of Davis, and maybe even jmac, but still has plenty of years and is out of a good system! Won't cost us much to draft pick 50-odd -
Julian lane on this weeks episode of tuf loses his marbles, it's hilarious. And Chaney bit Manley while he was being choked out. Anyone have much interest in gsp and condit? I can't see condit losing, just gone from strength to strength, a real tacticians fight!

I think it's more an ex-Melbourne player, and the jokes are just playing fun, I fail to see why people would be offended by it! Much worse has been said about Melbourne players! The bottom line is gysberts has no muscles, he still may be a player, but he definitely would be hoping to put on some sort of weight in the preseason with north. Wish him all the best, but I fail to see him breaking into norths midfield which is built around hard bodies -

Which delisted player would you pick up before ND/PSD
Mad_Melbourne replied to GawnWithTheWind's topic in Melbourne Demons
As soon as I said that I was waiting for that comment. I agree if we want him we would have no qualms picking him up, I just don't think that he is anything special, having said that I've only seen little footage, and now I've said it what's the bet he turns out to thrive under a new location -

I agree that blease will be well advanced, but the 150-200m would be more suited to his burst of speed you would think than a 400m hence his competitiveness with bail. I think bail is more of a 400-800m runner with sustained speed. None the less if blease continues to work hard he will build on his ability to sustain this effort over longer distances. Be interesting to see who was in what group, and I thought watts had reasonably good cardio? Interesting -
Wow...what a load of drivel, give it a rest, smoke a joint or something!
-
My new plan will be to ask my old man, and see if he knows haha! Always keen on a bit of mfc history! Good work on setting this up
-
I feel I will not have much of a chance at many of these questions, at best I have memory of 1998- onwards haha

Bottom line is he just likes the attention. He is like a peacock, without the flashy feathers to draw the attention and without the pea. Each to their own
-
Rory Taggert could give it a good dip, if he can get his body right! Jack watts will have a year which makes us realize why he was a number one draft pick. Tapscott will cement his spot In the side also. Would love to see big seasons from Strauss, Jetta and Evans
