  1. Where are our midfield setups? It embarrassing
  2. Fritsch out of the square, pretracca wing. Hes fresh
  3. I still think this is completely winnable, we were ontop for large parts that qtr, need to hit targets coming out if defence, then take the risky kick with less pressure.
  4. Hes good drifting down intercepting from a wing, disposals good coming out by foot.
  5. Wtf gawn a one on three with lockhart being the one? We're predictable going to that flank? Did anyone else see players flock to gawn when lewis was good enough to hit brayshaw?
  6. That hurts, we've been ontop and press4tge tigers more.
  7. Why isnt anyone standing up for stretch?poor.
  8. Anb's front and center was perfect then didnt hand it off but still, signs.
  9. Hunt and petracca were poor that qtr, but with richmond all over us its hard as a forward, weideman needs to work hard, if he not getting it needs to work hard creating space and being an option further up. Anb, runs, at least he hasnt stuffed up yet. Harmes should be a bonus this half

  11. [censored] off simon, we tried your "let the forwardx out number our defenders zone" Dont be coming on here trying to convince us it wasnt the fault of the structures. We got outplayed most of that qtr and only gave up 2 goals. 2 GOALS. GTFO our forum goodwin, you have half time coaching duties to do.
  12. That qtr was poor, seems like our backs pushing back when the tigers do to even the out number(watching on tele) so it didnt cost us 8 goals. Liked us showing that we can hit a target and stop the repeat inside 50s, tigers are great at that and it was a better concentration. Our setups got shut down a bit and got sucked in, hopefully they adjust and we get back on top in general play and we'll get better i50s for the forwards to implement the structures and leads they did in the first
  13. Are the umpires scared of dustys dad? They will not pay a free against him.
  14. Commentators complaining but we were stuck in a cycle of pressured kicks out, slow play and a throw in is better than turning it over
  15. Looking for better setups and handballs out of congestion to allow the directed kick. Oliver needs to stop the 1 meter instant handball and team mates need to be an option for it. Also be able to pressure opponents if we lose or quick turn over. I think we'll end up closer than many think.
  16. Our forwards need to be on the move at centre bounces and contests (which trac, melksham and weid normally are, pruess also jogs from square). Our midfield structures are set up for full attack win contested ball, but forced quick kick forward(chaos), defenders dont respect or forwards and peel off early. Originally all our forwards would run to that 35-45 quick hack spot, after the second round the players i mentioned started offering leads and dummy leads, when in general play we try to hit them. When on top like 2 qtr against saints, these forwards were used, but out of stop play and pressured movement we are sorely lacking. Long reply to the 45m drop spot, we already do that with the hack out of the middle. Our problem is it rebounds so easily, its such a dangerous spot. If long bombing it in, which we should stop immediately, it should be to a pocket where we can corner them in easier, hold it, get it out or defend half the ground. If the bomb diesnt happen every time, they wont have players peeling off early to help out.
  17. How did you feel about Adam Yze and brad green cheering for us against geelong last years final, or david neitz singing the song when we beat sydney last week? Ive been asking about chaplins influence and coaching since he arrived, what ever hes been involved with has gone backwards under him If brad scott gets sacked and we pick him up, and he improves us, i couldnt care less if he's seen cheering on brissy in a finals match or cheering on his former players at nth.
  18. Viney, brayshaw, harmes and oliver will be fine in the same team, set ups need to be better, oliver needs to stop the instant handball unless its attacking or to a player in space and try to get in a better position to release a team mate. We look better with fritsch on a wing, and he looks better than when in defence. But would look better with him up forward and a 2 proper outsiders. You mention port and geelong adding dangerous speedy forwards, we've lost kent, hannan and Vandenberg. Defenders all had to pay respect to, so far this year we've been slow and straight moving forward and defenders just peel off and cover the hotspot. Clear the ball while our players are pushing up or moving into zone but easy possessions mean they get over our players or cut the angle and make us look slow. The set ups are horrible. The quick kicks out of contest or centre clearances are predictable and easy to read. Once we have clean possession we never seem to work the angles and try to use all forwards to make defence accountable. Its always on the head to the forward straight down the line.
  19. We've got a core of oliver, brayshaw, viney, harmes, salem, may, lever, tmac, weid, petracca, gawn. Our setups all over the ground are horrible. I cant see how its players when they are setting up at stoppages allows clear paths for opposition. Positioning would have to be where they're trained to be. Its all or nothing, no defence. and when we do win it, we have been worked out and easy to pressure that quick kick which is turned over for easy un pressured kicks which opens up the high press. But we'll continue doing it and the players will put in effort for a little bit then fade away. Frostys speed is the reason tgey did stuff a couple up. Its not the 2018 game plan, its a higher more attacking zone, with full attacking setups. Its obviously been drilled into the players to get it into the 10-25m hotspot, its so frustrating watching capable players 35 to 50M out have time for a shot but look for a short kick to a contest or a dicey handball because he's not in the hotspot. Sure goodwin looked at the stats and thats where most goals are kicked and accurately, but not when we're outnumbered or turn it over trying to get it there. Take the shot, stop being so predictable!
  20. Hasn't lived up to the hype but you've got it in for him, you want him dropped but love spargo, petracca provides heaps more both ways than spargo, melksham, tmac, weid and preuss. Our structures are forward killers, petracca's opponent at least has to stay with him, because he makes himself an option, all the others allow their opponents to peel off and clear the 50 with no pressure clearing our half forwards stuck in that 25-35m dead zone. Our defense is horrible to watch, their so high and the ball comes in so quick because of what i said above that they just cant defend. Its designed for the quick pressured quicks out that either are a turn over or hold the player up allowing the zone to push back and repeat, but its been found out. And when we do somehow stop the forward attack, we are either outnumbered or equal at the contest with our players spread out trying to cover loose players everywhere that a quick kick is forced, to another outnumbered contest, while our midfield is still trying to run back to help and out of position. Hore was ok, looks better than some other options, but his kicking is horrible. When he doesnt butcher it, his kicks are very loooy, allowing for the forward play to be cut off or slowed down, a switch kick in the 4th demonstrated this perfect, loopy kick didnt allow for the quick play on, and the allowed saints time to shut down the switch.
  21. If he plays this week it will be interesting how st kilda play him, he's not going to be wearing his defender out presenting on the wings, he's also no going to be chasing his opponent up the ground. When they run off, if our defensive running and positioning is good, we could get some good miss matchs on the turn over.
  22. While their midfield has the type of players that can hurt us, like florent for sydney, they run into the contest with pace and dash away, they were made to look better by a hawthorn midfield missing mitchell and o'meara, and copping injuries didnt help. we need to structure up right, when we dont win the clearance we cant leave clear avenues like we did in rounds 1 to 3 and florent took advantage of as well until we tightened up.
  23. You put dangerous marking forwards in the fwd 50 and they lead to different areas, defenders cant float off as easy to intercept or have numbers at the fall for easy rebounds. When pruess or another marking target come out of the goal square, and a weid tmac or melksham types lead hard elsewhere, either their defenders float off and we hit them up or we have more chance against less numbers, quick smalls like hunt nean his opponent will stay down to cover him. If the ball spills, the defenders dont have as much help to get it out cleanly, its easier to pressure one or two defenders than a wave pushing forward. Then our press works when the balls banged out. I am a bit worried about his lack of endurance, but after the shoulder, he still got to some contests, just didnt impact them. I was wanting keilty in as he can cover more ground, but pruess has him covered in his aggression at the contest
  24. Our defense has been a shambles except salem. He's put in more than solid performances, he's stepped up again this year, the way he just puts himself in spots where he is going to crunched and just gets up should be inspiring to his team mates, then when he has the ball even under tackling pressure is more reliable by foot than a lot of his team mates. For pick 2 back in 2014? We now have salem hunt and preuss. If pruess can gain some endurance and impact games for longer, thats better than tyson hunt and salem.
