  1. Fritsch is horrible in traffic. Everyones getting sucked into the contest again and not allowing better delivery.
  2. Get to reset from the center now. Need to throw fritsch forward for petracca, salem wing, and petracca back. Need to make they're bqcks accountable again
  3. Is wagner on ryan? Terrible. Umpiring cost us 2 but we have cost ourselves more. Umpiring hasnt been terrible. We need to get control back
  4. Looks like hes been given a role and is focusing on that, i know yeo's had a bit of influence and harmes moved to him at some stoppages that qtr, but viney seems to be holding a defensive position at stoppages and not getting sucked in. Its what we've been crying for all year.
  5. His kicking has improved out of site, i criticized him early for loopy kicks which were getting cut off, while still not darts and can shank one, picking better options and no where near as much height.
  6. Hes lost all confidence, the play there was use pace take a bounce draw the player handball to hunt. How far off is hannan?
  7. Not going to argue because i agree, he does lack those things,(but what full back would turn west coasts small forwards?) thats why i thought it was his best option. tonight he attacked the ball in a pack of eagles and took the mark. So far he has done a lot more good than bad, and his tackles have stuck. on his performance so far tonight i wont be checking for his name in the outs next week.
  8. He hasnt. Hunt was manning McGovern a lot for the first qtr n half and dragging him up, they allowed it for a bit trying to do McGovern things but hunt was going to dangerous positions so he had to follow, when he didnt hunt was getting easy ball and we were able to deliver inside away from him. Now he's tried to push onto smith, while smith is going to the contest he put himself behind or to the side for the spill. Hes impressing with leading patterns and forward craft. T mac has suffered from bombs again that qtr, over his head or to the advantage of their 2 on one.
  9. Last 10 games of last year, plays better head to head, i wouldnt call it tagging.
  10. Not at all, had no options due to eagles closing him down, high rish of smother turn over, looked boundary side and salem was smart enough to get it over without infringing
  11. I thought they were giving jones more time inside which pushed brayshaw out as he's the more versatile out of jones, viney and oliver. Melksham in the midfield has been a failure as his disposal drops worse than our other mids. Perhaps utilize melksham on tge wing instead of pushing brayshaw out.
  12. Langdons out of contract and if he asks for a trade then you generally get away with paying less. If a club chased salem, offered as bigger contract while under contract, i would expect a later first round, same situation as above and you'd be getting an early to mid second round pick. Players have to much power, who other than kelly for geelong hasnt got thei r own way when asking for a trade under contract recently? A player says i want to be traded to x club, x club offers what they want, stand off, then the club normally accepts less than they wanted from said club. Unless its melbourne, then we blink first and pay more.
  13. With everyone suggesting we are struggeling with no runners allowed on the ground during play, runners were not to be on the ground coaching, they made a rule years ago that they were to deliver messages direct from the coach and straight back off the ground. Not to be filling space or coaching. I think its Nick Maxwell for gws was the worse i saw at this, continually stragecically placing himself in a slap in the face to the game. If we were staying on field and runners were coaching players then we were part of the problem. Now runners are place around the ground and run on after a goal with a drink, my question, do they have communication with the box and still run messages out and if they do, why cant they be up and down and yelling messagrs from the boundary, like the interchange trying to get melkshams attention to come off for oliver for 5 minutes apparently.
  14. Would be great, every role at hawthorn that area has improved, goal kicking, development (credited for improving disposal skills and gameplan) and backline.
  15. What a load of crap. When collingwood were down and it was essendons home game, essendon supporters outnumber the majority and vice versa. It was richmonds home game and only limited ga seats. If members wanted to reserve a nose bleed seat it cost more, why pay more when the clubs shown what they have? Queens birthday we turned up to watch us get pumped for years. Every club get better attendance when going well. Soft supporters? Your kidding. With what we put up with, everyones entilted to an opinion, yours is [censored], but you're entilted to it.
  16. The drafting of the last few years has lacked.... risk. Our early picks no one would change at the time, hindsights different. What i dont understand is we filled our midfield with competitive ball winners. Nothing wrong with that we have very good contestef players. Early pick on weid which hes not a jonathon brown, development and better "connection," will see him more productive. Trades we've bought high and sold low, may really high, he's 28 alreadt isnt he? So jason taylors had second rounders and later. What he's picked have been safe players. Spargo, sparrow. Just safe picks. Once you get to this part of the draft, normally you could throw a blanket of a bunch. So why not pick the kid that does something really well? Might not be as rounded but have something the safe ones dont. Howe and his ability to read the ball and mark, elite disposal as long as they have good contested numbers too, he selected oscar baker who fits this, kicking can be a bit floaty, but has above average speed. He may or may not work out, but if they do, you end up with a point of difference to the safe not anything special pick.
  17. If it were just fitness, our game wouldnt be so easy to play against all game, our defensive set up was better for 3 qtrs. We have individuals that can do elite things. Our gameplan and different coaches have based our setups on these individuals doing elite things. Watch a stoppage set up at either end of the ground, we set up for each player to do something elite to win the clearance. And often steal the ball off ourselves doing the elite thing. Creating congestion and pressure on ourselves. We dont even set up a release player, so when elite act is done, no ones set up to move firward. And we turn over and our players just jog back watching the ball fly down again. As the other team floods forward and setup a press. While our forwards jog down, not in a space where they could lead and mess up the zone, create options, create space for other forwards just jog down and pick a spot to stand, flat footed letting them setul just like training. Is it 22 players refuse to to listen to setups or are 22 players doing what theyve been told. Tweak it and setup as a team and fitness will be less of an issue. Its easier to run when its not chasing when systems fail.
  18. The seasons done, leave him in and develop better structures and leading patterns. Work up and be an option. Keilty should have played today. Preuss needs to work on fittness to also work up more and be an option, multiple options from multiple forwards. 3 talls is a must, petraccas not fulfilling that role, his better games this year were with 3 talls, couldnt understand why he wasnt put up around the ball earlier. Keilty or preuss to help ruck. We also need to use these options instead of ignoring them. Because we are predictable opposition just zone off. Same as setups stoppage setups. Coming out of defence is the same, always the same flank on the boundary, gawn even went to a 1 on 3 with the 1 being lockhart. Another example was lewis, gawn was in the go to flank 4 tigers flocked to him which is what we always do, lewis hit brayshaw up which let us relieve the repeat 50s.
  19. So he had nothing to do with the high press being put back in place at the start of the last? Hes not in charge of the midfield setup coach? The players effort lacks when the games gone. The jogging after they waltz through our setup hurts from certain players, it wouldnt make any difference to that play, but they could effect another contest. It would be hard giving opponents such a headstart every time.
  20. Olivers a bigger problem. Wont block for a team mate steals balls off team mates in better spots and handballs to said player 1m away. Jogs when we dont have the ball. Brayshaw does that too. Probably learnt from jones.
  21. Wasnt that a block on fritsch not in the back?
  22. Jack viney back on. Tuff, hope its something he cant damage more.
  23. Look at our defenders having to run off leaving the spare. This is under 9s stuff.
  24. Our setup at the contest in our fwd50, why???? It has to be coach driven, if it were the players they wouldnt be in there. Its a joke.
  25. Why are we playing the high zone [censored], more forwards than defenders so close to goal.
