Not doing either TBF I have a great daughter. I cannot decry her decision years ago to follow the Bombers she has seen way more wins and a number of GF wins However I will keep my powder dry till the "Essendon Player Problem" is resolved.

Topical My daughter just emailed a EFC membership request form. With the tag "Dad sign up at least we win games most weekends!" What a Darling, Wrong team but perhaps the right sentiment!

After an enjoyable weekend following the Hawks and pretending they were my team and trying to forget I have followed the Dees for 53 years I have thought long and deep about following one side in a team sport with so little success for half a century. The joy I have seen from most other team supporters over that period looks fantastic from the outside. Unlike a lot of others I have seen two flags but to be honest I can barely remember the first and the second and last is beginning to fade. That joy I have not seen for 49 years. I have asked myself numerous times over the last two years why I go on. If I am very honest it is that while the MFC exists I cannot leave. Strange to continue to put myself though such pain with almost no chance of getting the ultimate goal in my lifetime. Late last night I ask myself ( over a single malt or two ) would The worst thing be for the MFC to disappear? The answer for me is no. The worst thing for me would be to go on producing results like the last two years. So I will go on buying memberships and going to games with a forlorn hope of improvement. However too many more like the last two and I think I am done. But can the bloody MFC improve to the point Where I can look for to winter weekends with a chance of winning games? That is all I ask, not too much is it?

Glad to see we have added to your enjoyment TBF. A joke or two is always a necessarity I hope we have a small amount of success to discuss in 2014 mate.

I agree 100% with the idea DL But it is way down the list of priorities. Start winning games and plenty of them and all sorts of things will come to pass. But the most vital thing is to start winning First , Middle and Last at present.

Think next decade dee-luded Right now the MFC is in survival mode. It is something to worry about when we are strong on and off the field.

Any one notice the AFL has called all the Lions board and challengers to a meeting. I suspect they are going to end the war up there and run things similar to the dees. Do it this way guys or get out of town!
