  1. Was going to the Amos today and then suggested I might go to Essendon tomorrow. No.1 wife gave me a rather angry look so punted for tomorrow. With my luck that will mean Willie win today and Casey get a bath tomorrow.
  2. Way more dc the other two have been consigned to the "red and blue print " disaster bin.
  3. I agree Redleg.I just get annoyed that many think all we need is a priority pick and all will be well in the world. In case you have not noticed in drives me crazy.
  4. WJ I am one that believes we should get over this " a priority draft pick will fix everything" attitude and I still believe it. Now that does not mean I don't think we deserve one or need the help provided. It is the attitude that annoys me. The MFC has bought us to this point the point. The MFC chose the last two coaches and FD"s, we chose poorly at the draft table, we chose poor management. It has taken us a decade to grind down to the worst list in the competition. The competition owes us bugger all we have bought 95% of this on ourselves. IMO it is going to take us at least another three years ( including 2014 ) to become even competitive with the top six sides. The AFL will only put up with us until the end of the this TV contract as they need the games we provide. If we have not dragged ourselves up by then we are in serious trouble for our very existence. How many people will watch the Game tomorrow on Foxtel? I suggest a few thousand. The broadcasters probably already see us as expendable. The future does not look good to me. Now you can say I am negative but in my opinion we are at deaths door
  5. Only 1/18 DF
  6. Sounds like me at the Amos on Saturday Melbourne who?
  7. That should not be that hard DF Anyone who can actually play 100 minutes week in week out will give better value at probably half the cost.
  8. It is effectively happening at the start of the season DF Cannot get on the park has the same effect on results
  9. Sounds like a good day coming up jazza Where is it played?
  10. An extremely good question DF the only answer I can give is It cannot. The only way forward is the replacement of at least a dozen players IMO. Also add Clark and Dawes who are not physical up to AFL level stress. That is going to take another two draft periods. I hate to say this but last years draft selections are going have to take up more of the slack in 2015 than they should or the last two years results will continue. However things are looking up I am having a banana and peanut butter sandwich for lunch. Off to an amos game tomorrow. Good weekend ahead I expect.
  11. I am confident that the only remedy is winning games.start winning in 2015 and my attention will return. right now I am in the dwindling phrase. Sad but probably over due.
  12. There is no doubt that I have over the last two years been slowly disengaging from the MFC I no long have any expectation of winning, I went to less games in 2013 than 2012 I have been to one game this year and will not go until round 6 as I have other engagements and an interstate game this week. I do not get angry with losses any longer. This morning I turned on the computer and there were two emails from the MFC, as I was deleting them it occurred to me a seldom read emails from the MFC any more. The human brains ability to block out painful things is a wonderful thing. I suspect that if this year continues to follow the trend of the last two I will have stopped the hurt completely in six months time.
  13. Him and 30 000 others DF
  14. I could handle that DF. Ten years between drinks would mean we have 16 flags now and another this year. No I have not been drinking but it sure does look like it.
  15. I had coffee this afternoon with an old friend who happens to be a dees supporter for almost as long as me. Said he has completely disconnected with the MFC after the 2012 season and then AFL at senior level goes to his local Amos team. I ask would you come back? He said doubt it I am now used to a non AFL existence, just so much easier and more fun. He enjoys following a team that wins as many as it loses and he always feels his side has a chance. Interesting that he said he no longer worries about the financial problems, does not take millions to field his side. Running costs are low and generally has a good time. Lost him I think barring a possible GF appearance I doubt he would be back. In general conversation he said would never be a member again. If we became a good side he might be persuaded to go to the odd game but it would be a GA if at all.
  16. I wish I could afford to do that H_T Seems like the perfect solution. Trouble is I would still want to sneak a look at the scores etc.
