His mettle and sanity has been tested over the 3 years, but what a job he has done. To think there were people actually calling for him to hand over the reigns to Goodwin just weeks out from round 1... David King in particular was very vocal about it from memory. What an arrogant piece of work that clown is.

A lot of us have been very critical of our backline at some point this year. How happy I am to slowly be proven wrong. I just have so much faith in the development of our young players to take us up at the ladder, that Landing that elusive 'big fish' come trade week would just be the icing on the cake.

It's players like Max Gawn that help me forget about the past. It's threads like this that remind me... Why bask in the glory of all things currently going well for the club, when you can have a discussion about who did a better job of doing a bad job, however long ago.

Seeing what Brisbane are going through really does make you realise the progress we've made the past 3 years. Because my god, they are miles behind us.

I dare say the players would be all over this. (Being a mathematical chance of making the 8) Obviously they'd never admit it publicly. But it at least means there's another incentive to perform well these last few rounds. Ending the season with a wave of momentum would be massive for the club. Imagine the hype over pre-season and what that'd do for the membership tally? In terms of finishing the year strongly and what's at stake, playing finals (this year) is the smaller picture. Really hope the team puts on a show for the rest comp over the next month.

It's amazing that in this day and age we don't have the option of muting the commentators and just listening to the "sounds of the game".
