Demons won't win the flag in 2022.
We don’t have a home ground. It may say so on paper but we are just co-tenants amongst several. We have played 11 games there this season to Collingwoods 13 plus due to the size of the stadium more popular Victorian clubs will always have more fans and more noise in our “official” home games. Still we have more than enough familiarity and is a major concern we cannot play the ground to a satisfactory level. We should do much better.

New Rule of the Week
Yeah it was a sling tackle on Langdon. I could see his head bounce off the ground. Then all pile in and pummel his head. There should have been a free + 50 metre penalty. The umpires should have been aware this was likely to happen. Set a pattern for the whole game, umpire to the hype and blood thirsty mob.

POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Agree with your comments expect for the “easy games” coming up. Not easy but winnable assuming we are up to the challenge.

Bump. Again our sub unused and an important player as well who could have made a difference in the last quarter.- POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
The cracks look bigger this morning and some new ones too. Was there an earthquake overnight?- POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Dismayed again we couldn’t get our Sub on in the last quarter. Harmes could have made a difference given the several passengers we had.- POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Need more from CP5. Has provided nowhere near the drive of last season. Contested possessions, marks, tackles and scoring way down on last season.- POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Our last quarters have been a huge frustration. We surrender to pressure, concede the lead and we absolutely can’t do anything about it. No spark, we lose shape and panic, give up more easy goals and can’t push forward to give ourselves a chance.- POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
They had all the hunger and we had the full belly after half time.- POSTGAME: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Hope pies won their GF tonight.- GAMEDAY: Rd 21 vs Collingwood
Collingwood always going low inside 50. Doing a good job cutting out interceptors.- Eddie Betts opens up on the weird camp
When the issue first arose there was some talk that some non indigenous Adelaide players also took offence but that line was never fleshed out in the media. Perhaps players were reluctant to speak up.- Strange quote from Freo coach
Mundy is getting more of the ball than his career averages this season. Would not be surprised if Freo have made another monumental big name recruit stuff up like with Hogan and McCarthy.- Eddie Betts opens up on the weird camp
As board member and from some of his past comments it appears he has some responsibility to how this debacle eventuated. Perhaps he’s one that should ‘move on’ as well.- Eddie Betts opens up on the weird camp
The funny part of the whole debacle.- Eddie Betts opens up on the weird camp

Creepy cult like stuff. And we nearly did the same. https://www.theage.com.au/sport/afl/a-knife-a-harness-and-the-power-stance-eddie-betts-reveals-cult-like-training-camp-20220801-p5b6ej.html- How Geelong Stays Competitive
Due the large size it was hard to see the action at the other end sitting anywhere behind the goals and if sitting at ground level, the action disappeared below knee level on the other side. Made for fast open play but lacking in atmosphere amongst other problems like location, parking and poor public transport as well as rotten weather especially during night games. Football Park in Adelaide which was almost a carbon copy of AFL Park had a similar terminal fate. I don’t miss it.- Welcome to Demonland: Country Road
Not what I wear but if any good deals are on offer I might look at them.- How Geelong Stays Competitive
Despite it odd shape and being the longest AFL ground, Kardinia Park is also the smallest current AFL ground in area at 15,355 square metres. By comparison the MCG is 17,719 square metres, Docklands 16,211 square metres, SCG 16,556 square metres and Optus is 16,847 square metres. The largest ever was Waverley which was around 20,000 square metres. Surprising really as this fact is never on the radar. Most people believe the SCG is the smallest ground.- How Geelong Stays Competitive
When they redeveloped the west/southern stands and could have reconfigured the playing surface to conform to AFL standards. That would also have allowed the eastern side stands to have more room for expansion away from the road. But in their wisdom they decided to keep it peanut shaped to maintain their unique advantage. Surprising the AFL signed off on the current layout knowing full well that it does not conform to AFL ground standards. Not only are wings distorted but the pockets as well.
