  1. Saw the Fyfe incident on TV. Penalty about right. Mitchell is more interesting. Deserves 3.
  2. I reckon we have a good argument for our membership to be tax deductable. We are a basket case in need of charity.
  3. Our wins this year. GC. The worst team in the competition earlier in the year. Should be a top 8 side but internal issues and a shock coach replacement have ruined their season. Have improved in recent weeks and no longer easy beats. Richmond. Played them at ther lowest point of the season during a period where their form was bad and experiencing a crisis in confidence. Got their game back on track and a chance for top 4. Bulldogs. Came to play us with no respect. If they were a top side they could have bluffed a win like Hawthorn and WC do who never show us respect. Where we both started the season about equals they have now surged miles ahead of us and are genuine finals contenders. Geelong. Not as good a as they used to be but the arrogance is still there. They showed us no respect and were distracted by the Enright cellebrations. On previous form an average performance with minimal effort would have blown us away. Likely to miss the finals for the first time since 2007. Still, this game was our best for a long time but we only win games when the opposition let us. If my membership was not on automatic roll over, joining up again would be the easiest thing for me to forget.
  4. We are better than them but if they come out pumped up and really want to win, then we will lose for sure. We get intimitdated far too easily in a big fight no matter the quality of opposition.
  5. We are are a mentaly fragile side. Seems like the only requirement to beat us is their will to win is greater than ours. We don't have the capacity to withstand sides that are fairdinkum no matter where they stand on the ladder. It is arguable that all our wins this season have been against sides that didn't come to play or burdened by distractions.
  6. Surely not when he played for us.
  7. Like when Garland went forward a couple of years ago when we upset Essendon. He did well but it never worked again afterwards.
  8. The only thing an opposition side needs to do is just want to win more than we do and they will. No matter where they are on the ladder or problems they are dealing with. All our wins this season have been against sides that have been distracted for one reason or other. We just haven't got the mental toughness to take on any team that plays to win.
  9. They were more desperate, hungry and courageous. We were reactive, panicky and led to the ball. Long bombs are OK as long as forwards pressure to follow up. Also too Hogan focussed coming forward and he ain't ready yet to dominate. Sooky signs were there last week from him and again today. Our forward line looked heaps better against Geelong when we didn't have to worry about him. Howe was his partner in crime.
  10. Hogan needs another precautionary rest like the Geelong game. We can win without him. Don't need a Prima Donna.
  11. We got hit in the face by the dead cat bounce.
  12. They just want to win more than us. We also just saved Hird's coaching career.
  13. 3 possessions between Hogan and Dawes. WTF
  14. Isn't it about time that you ask this thread be closed?
  15. It's a mystery to me, but most if not all fellow travellers except the good doc have already left the club. It does look like though that his oily tongue is starting to lose its lubricating qualities.
  16. This guy is always lurking waiting to seize the high moral ground as a chance to vituperate against fellow posters.
  17. I heard the answer as a short not too emphatic "yep".
  18. I can't remember a game day thread so pre-occupied by the weather. Is this an omen?
  19. Listened to SEN this morning where Xavier Campbell was interviewed. Robbo not in typical manner threw in some curly questions. It appears there are many seriously [censored] off players there at the moment.
  20. Yep heading South East. The heaviest rain should hit Geelong and Mornington peninsula.
  21. Tend to agree, the worst may be over by the time the game starts though drizzle may persist during the game.
  22. I am putting my self in the nervous group too. This game will say a lot about us as it will of them. Do we have the capacity to taste blood and go for the kill? Given all the background dynamics of the past few weeks, our form and the benchmark set by St Kilda I expect a big win. But history says we are unpredictable when we are expected to win well and it's hard to shake off the fear we may be embarrassed. This game reminds me of the game where they beat us by over 20 goals in 2013 and Schwab got the sack straight after. Only this time it appears the precursors are fully reversed.
