If he made those comments, he is a dead set [censored]!

MELBOURNE TEAM FOR ROUND 1, 2014
Bitter but optimistic replied to felixdacat's topic in Melbourne Demons
You seem to imply that Watts will be lucky to get a game, if so you are incorrect. I imagine he will be pencilled in early - in a suitable capacity. JW certainly has the skills but he is not ready to put his head down and burrow into a pack. I don't think that will ever be his game but he can be outstanding elsewhere. I'm a bit pizzed so spelling. -
Tried to present my other beautiful sister to the world - and now am unable to present anything!

MELBOURNE TEAM FOR ROUND 1, 2014
Bitter but optimistic replied to felixdacat's topic in Melbourne Demons
Back. Frawley, Garland,McDonald,Grimes, Terlich and Watts. There maybe other plans for Watts but I like his disposal and athleticism in defence. Middle. Spencer, Viney, Jones, Vince, Tyson and Cross. Forward. Clark, Dawes,Hogan, Howe, Evans and Trengove. We have plenty of potential firepower forward and thus could leave Watts down back. There is some doubt, however, as to whether say Evans and Trengove can do the crumbing forward business when the ball hits the ground. And it will hit the groung a lot as our big forwards will not be outmarked very often. Bench. Fitzy, Toumpas, Michie and pick 9. If you include our new players and everyone is fit (unlikely but we can hope) then selecting a side actually poses many dilemas.(eg Matt Jones and Blease not in my side) Not a situation we have been familiar with in recent years -
Just back after a big night on the Reds 'deeman. So maybe my headache is making me shitfull. However, this is a silly bloody thread!!

I reckon that record would have Essendrug chasing him!

Good post moonatic ( who wrote it for you?). Fitzy has really gone from zero to hero through hard work - he looked a dud when he started but certainly showed me up as a poor judge.I rate his kicking higher than you do and I look forward to watching him next year. I just wonder what his role/position will be.

Sorry old mate - I cannot unload

Now wanted - quick handball recievers?
Bitter but optimistic replied to TGR's topic in Melbourne Demons
Handball receivers!!!!! FMD!!!!! Let's first of all sort out some blokes who can actually get a hold of the pill !!! -
The best footy I have seen Grimes play is out of the back. He can mark, he can gather, he has shown that he can run and deliver. It seems a no brainer to me.

I like the one year deal. -
Yes, know the place thanks DC. The lads, however, are retiring types and consider it a little ostentatious.

Sylvia certainly could do the business. Unfortunately he only did it about twice a season.

MELBOURNE TEAM FOR ROUND 1, 2014
Bitter but optimistic replied to felixdacat's topic in Melbourne Demons
(Censored offensive remark) We will have to review this difference in 2014 Stuie. -
Come on Song - man up! Just think of the long break. And if you are still living with that filth supporter, hide his false teeth.

MELBOURNE TEAM FOR ROUND 1, 2014
Bitter but optimistic replied to felixdacat's topic in Melbourne Demons
Fair point about the tackles Stuie but an average of 2.5 over 2.4 is hardly compelling. Further we can all select stats to suit our purpose eg Spencer averaged 26.6 hits to Gawns 18.6 and 10 disposals to Gawns 8.9. However, my observations were that Spencer looked a vastly improved player and was slowed down by a suspension just when he was looking good. I hope both succeed but across the games I saw live I felt Spencer had placed himself ahead. -
I realize my mortality. ( sorry to be maudlin DC but the reds are kicking in).

MELBOURNE TEAM FOR ROUND 1, 2014
Bitter but optimistic replied to felixdacat's topic in Melbourne Demons
Given equal preseasons Spencer will ruck in front of Gawn. Jamar is a question mark - does he get a game on seniority if fit - or are they going to march him into the sunset in some sort of development role. Anyway to Spencer. At the moment he is a much better and more frequent tackler than Gawn. Neither are great kicks but I reckon Spencer is ahead. Also Spencer is more agile and can win the ball when it hits the ground. Both need work in pack marking. Hopefully they both develop into into top line rucks and give the selection committee a headache. -
And the one in the Dees outfit looks the skinniest!!

Round 1, 2014. Who do you want?

WELCOME TO THE MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB - DOM TYSON

That's the first I've seen of him. Looks skilled and a nice mover. He's taller than I expected (haven't seen his stats) and I imagine he has added some muscle since that clip. We just need good luck with injuries and we could see some revival in 2014.
