As much as I am somewhat predisposed to being ‘peanut-happy’, and having recently been infected with a spirit of positivity and forgiveness a la binge-watching Ted Lasso, I find myself this time in excited agreement with the panel. I would however bring to the panel’s attention Mr. Brereton’s (or ‘Derm the germ’ as we like to call him) enduringly ‘naked’ sense of self-importance. Thusly, I would urge the panel to consider placing a rider on his single peanut award - that he may in fact be deserving of a NAKED PEANUT. No obvious subversive intention is meant by the two kernels on display, only that a single ‘peanut’, once de-shelled, reveals two nuts. Thanks also to the panel for iterating Prof. Sutton’s sound advice that all Derm-related content/contact be avoided.

Guess whose Mum’s been reading Demonland?

I would further submit to the panel a request for third peanut status based on the following: - Ms.Wilson makes her living from the game of AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL, a sport whose genesis, growth, survival and current popularity relies entirely on those who play, support, administrate and commentate the game being dedicated enthusiasts - passionate adherents. Ms. Wilson has shown a repeated and transparent lack of passion, dare I say even respect for our great national game. In her position as media commentator, she has consistently and unequivocally criticised the sport at every level, whenever and wherever possible and based too frequently on a lack of information and poor sources. Ms. Wilson’s obvious intent is to create controversial and destructive ‘news-cycling’ around the sport, the sole purpose being to foster her own reputation as an (faux) insider, investigative authority. I put it to you that Ms. Wilson’s ‘journalistic’ career (to date) has exhibited a subversive intention to harm the game of AUSTRALIAN FOOTBALL. And this despite said career being wholly dependent on the game. Ms. Wilson simply wishes football ill. As such, I invoke a plea to the panel that Ms. Wilson be anointed with NO LESS than a third peanut.

PODCAST: PREMIERSHIP PODCAST LIVE Tonight (27/9) @ 8:30pm
Webber replied to Demonland's topic in Melbourne Demons
Just made it through your Ben-Hur podcast, boys. Top stuff again! -
Dees supporting nephew went to a wedding recently where BBB’s partner was the celebrant. Said she was fantastic.
-
Almost certainly, Andy.
-
And we’re all asking why?!
-
I’ll be getting the one on the left, ‘M’ and ‘C’ in navy, the ‘F’ in red, and with a slightly bigger ‘red yolk’ below the bottom of the ‘C’ as per the newer logo on right. Getting on left calf. I know, classy.

Thanks Jeremiah

When did the tears start watching the grand final?
Webber replied to Cassiew's topic in Melbourne Demons
Beautifully expressed. -
It staggers me that he is now and ever was the regular ‘comments’ expert on ABC radio calls. His prematch previews are embarrassing for their simplicity and lack of analysis, not to mention the nonsense he spouts in his quarter by quarter summaries. The sum of his critical thought is to only ever assess performance as a product of player/team motivation. If they’re going well, it’s because they want it more, and are ‘harder’. If they’re performing badly, it’s because they’re not united, disinterested and/or soft. He has no other takes. Basically, anyone could spout what he does, and with zero knowledge of the game………. Rant over, I feel better now. It’s been such a relief to read some real journalism post-GF this week - Greg Baum, Jake Niall, Scott Gullan, et al.

Injuries or otherwise, lack of wingers or not, Goody has admitted it was a mistake to play him as anything but a forward. Not my words, they’re his. I imagine they did so because he is such a natural mover and beautiful, long field kick. Wanted to use him as a defence to forward distributor, as Salem/Bowey now do. As to his versatility, he’s a natural ball-finder, as Goody has also admitted. He moved up the ground well this year when called for.

Hello, Mr. Maclure.
-
The worst mainstream comments person on radio. Just one of so many times he’s shot off his irrelevant mouth. The truth is his Dee-bagging has always allowed him to feel better about his Blues. That’s where it comes from. The old Dunstall maybe. Completely turned around now. I have face to face experience (just after round 23 game) of him lauding this year’s Dees. Also, watch him with Whateley on Monday’s AFL 360. He’s never been so enthusiastic about a team’s performance.
-
Btw, @DeesignerAU, brilliant website, perfectly suited to this week!
-
Yep, he’s the flip-flop man, seemingly unaware we can see him doing it.
-
Never was. Frustrated the hell out of me that he wasn’t played forward in 2018. I love that Goody has publicly owned this as ‘poor coaching’….humility is a big part of his coaching brand.
-
He turned 180 in mid-air ready to run into the goal with the crumb…..outrageous, but just what Fritta does.
-
This is part of the ‘good vibes’, Lord Nev. Processing the reasons we’ve stuck fat with this club involves looking at the opinions and analysis of those who have said we shouldn’t, or had no reason to. It’s an essential part of the reward for loyalty and belief - another jigsaw piece in the now complete picture of our investment and faith.
-
Which he determined were just a bunch of ‘nice guys’ - prognostication tainted by an old and ignorant narrative.
-
Not just fabulously wrong, but so sure he was right. I’d also love to hear how other perennial ‘Dees haters’ feel about this premiership - Leigh Matthews, Mark Maclure, Mick Malthouse immediately spring to mind. And how much I’d love a compilation of David King’s ignorant mis-readings of our qualities and our chances through the year. Mr. Weekly Reactionary himself.
-
And then he went and potted Gus for not looking at the goals as he was walking back for the kick he ….…..PUT STRAIGHT THROUGH THE MIDDLE! Pointless, stupid commentary from a pointless, stupid commentator. (Sorry, not a quote).
-
I think of him as a pure footballer. Which is ironic because I also think Bailey Fritsch is a pure footballer. Totally different, so I guess the point is that they both make the most of very necessary but opposing talents in a complete team. The extraordinary thing to me about Jack is that post-suspension, I don’t think he’s been caught with the ball once, at least not then free-kicked. He’s also received a disproportionate number of free kicks. And yet he remains the inside uncompromising bull, but his game in this finals series has simply gone to another level - playing to his strengths, understanding his limitations, and not only trusting, but facilitating and being in synch with his teammates. He, like all the team, and the reason we are PREMIERS (I still can’t believe I can actually say that) is that he’s recognised/been taught to be a perfect role-player. Son of a gun gets him extra love of course.

There’ll be one in blu ray Cass, always is, but it’ll be even later. Sellers want you to get the first release, then have to go again when they release the better version. Be out before Xmas though.
