  1. I think we will finish about 10th this year. I don't care about the rest except, I HOPE the Pies drop from the sky...
  2. This will be my second year as a Presidents, now called Legends member. I really enjoy it there, the supporters are friendly and welcoming. It was suggested to join the Legends by my mate that I go to the footy with as a trial for one year, we both enjoyed the presidents lunch day which is part of the membership package and this is for two people for a Demons home game, he takes me and I take him so we get two lunches (this is the only time his wife is interested in going to a game). So we rejoined again this year. Like alot of others here going to the footy was a family affair for me for a loooooong time, but now my mother is to old to go (she will be a 50 year member next year) and my sister has moved to the Sunny Coast. Very glad I met Tony and we have a great time at the games. Good luck at the footy JT. Go Dee's
  3. Excellent post I was getting really tired of the bickering here and had stopped posting because of it.
  4. After all the club has been through, for some Melbourne supporters to be saying they believe they get no value from being a member of the MFC. $50 if your already a MCC member, this arguement to me is unbelievable. in the last 15 years we have almost lost our club twice, to own a membership gives you a say in the club as you have a vote, so feel I have some ownership of my club because I am a member. I also feel that supporters should do there bit for the club to help keep it viable if they can. I know that some people just simply cannot afford to buy a membership and I totally understand this as living expenses must come first for stuggling individuals and families. However to those that pay $450 for an MCC membership and don't pay an extra $50 to support the football club, this is a poor excuse as far as I am concerned. A poster to this site wrote about a brave club, which we have, seems we need a lot more brave supporters. I am a full MFC and MCC member, and this is my opinion on this subject!
  5. Well what I am saying is this. If like me you hold a full MFC membership and: If you also hold a Melbourne Cricket Club membership, it helps the MELBOURNE FOOTBALL CLUB if you use your MCC membership at MFC home games at the "G"
  6. 1. I am only quoting what I was told. The money made by the MCC is apparently overall, including expensive beers and food, I was just pointing out that the MFC in there approach to the MCC quoted this fact to again start working more closely together with the current management of the MFC. (Overall gate attendance is not MCC attendance numbers.)In any case as I say below money is paid to the clubs for people going through the MCC members gate. 2. I have two tickets to go to any home game and I use them, the MCC pays the MFC for every MCC member through the MCC members gate. So I do as much as I can to help the footy club.
  7. I am a MCC member and a Legends member of the MFC (donation to the club.) I was talking to one of our board members at a Presidents lunch last year and we spoke about dual members like myself that scan in as MCC and also scan in on my MFC membership on Melbourne home games. I asked the question, was it worth me doing this as I was under the impression that the MCC paid the MFC for the attendance for the day. I was told this is correct and that part of the club renewing its ties with the MCC is that the MCC makes more money on a Melbourne home game than with most other non blockbuster games played there. EG: If Essendon has a home game crowd of 44K and Melbourne has a home game crowd of 30K the MCC make more money on the day with our home game. So if you are a dual member like me I suggest that you might use both your memberships on home game days to help the Demons!
  8. He is a life member of the club and he walks with no compensation for us after being on huge bucks for 3 years, very grubby if you ask me.
  9. Awesome year for a really nice bloke. Well done.
  10. Well, we all get to live by our decisions and now he gets to live by his. Goodluck with your future career Chris.
  11. A great year by a great player. You don't get a 4 year contract unless your in the elite catagory. Corner stone of the clubs tilt at a flag/s this decade. and only 21 years young, no doubt he can get even better as a player and leader of our club. He is a great example of why being patient while a young player develops to there full potential is vital.
  12. Two things that I would really, really like to see... Thanks to the link posters as I missed recording the show. Not a fan of it though, Sam Newman
  13. On refelection I believe I get where your coming from Redleg, in that we need a power forward BIG TIME. HOWEVER this bloke is POISON. Look what has happened to the Lions.
  14. 6: Jurrah 5: Dunn 4: Green 3: Junior 2: Scully 1: McKenzie Appologies to Jared Rivers and Chip.
  15. Ooop's. Make that In: Bate, Sylvia, MacDonald. Miller for a farewell game maybe, at the expense of .......?
  16. Out: Newton, Warnock, Bennell. In: Bate, Maric, MacDonald, we missed his run big time.
  17. 6: Bruce 5: Jurrah 4: Scully 3: Junior 2: Rivers 1: MEH........ To many passengers. Moloney needed the run. Newton to the VFL for the rest of his football career, alot of the guys looked flat :S To many easy shots on goal missed. Let's all turn out next week for Juniors last game.
  18. I confess to being biased towards Bart's. It's easy to see the errors players make and remember them for it but it's worth a look at replays of some of the games this year to see the stuff he does off the ball. He seems to have a massive engine this year which is a plus as well. Running to space to recieve the ball in the last quarter against the Hawks then to kick that point, (I so knew that was coming) when most of the other players were tiring. He has had a great year I recon and good on him. For the record. I like every one else that supports Melbourne, want a Premiership, and with that wish the players to deliver it, whom ever they may be. I am fortunate to have seen Melbourne win one as a kid but i think i would appreciate one more as an adult who has supported the club for nearly 5 decades. Go Dee's.
  19. I agree, the club should keep the momentum going as much as it can in all aspects on the field and off. At this time in last two seasons my mate and I were saying only two more weeks of pain to go. This year we are both sorry the season is about to end. At the start of the season my expectations for this year was to get genuine hope for the future. The club has ticked all those boxes on and off the field. GO DEE'S!
  20. 6: Sylvia 5: Rivers 4: Frawley 3: Bruce 2: Bail 1: Jamar
  21. I agree with your delistings, pity about Junior, but he still could stay depending on who if any decide to go to another club, this factor has to be taken into consideration.
  22. Jeff.gone. A second time. Might be good.
  23. 6: Dunn 5: Frawley 4: Jones 3: Scully 2: Davey 1: Jurrah Sorry to J Mac, et al.
