  1. I can further this story.. Remember a friend telling me he alleged Brown told him 'he was a sh*t c***, and that he wouldn't waste his spit on the worst player on the field.' Along those lines.. Think the guy has issues
  2. Don't understand how that can be seen as accidental.. It is completely inhumane that when lying on your back you kick your foot out.. when you should be trying to place both feet on the ground to enable yourself to get up.. This is a very important moment for the match review panel and if this isn't even looked at, than I'll be banging down the radios further than before. If this happened to a Collingwood player it'd be all over the news. Campbell Brown is a dog.. I don't like the word, but once is an accident.. twice is stupidity, three times is thuggery however, this would be close on Brown's 5th or 6th offence of this nature. Kick him out.
  3. I implore you to watch more.. He's actually a brilliant long left foot kick. I could understand you saying his right lacks some precision but his left foot goal from one step outside 50 showed his kicking class. Over short he hits targets too, I think you've misjudged that. As for the pace, certainly is his concern but the theme I've found watching him and even reading about him around the traps is that he has enough pace in the first 3 steps to get himself out of trouble.. At the end of the day that's all you really need. Mitchell, Selwood, Boyd, Kennedy, O'Keefe all aren't quick, but they known when to turn on the jets just to get time and space. That's how I see Sheed. I'm only a semi young bloke myself and have coached Jack billings a potential high draft pick in both footy and athletics so last time I spoke to him I asked about Dom.. Couldn't speak higher of him and said the only reason they beat WA was the coach had set a plan to double tag him all week.. Interesting I thought.
  4. Haha if they are averaging 35 I'd be guessing they position themselves well.. But I do get your point. I watched each champ game, obviously living in Vic unable to watch his club games but as good as I could view on the TV I was quite impressed with Dom.. He is a player who understands his limitations.. I'd say his pace is probably his one main 'weakness' but he trusts himself to have a bounce and not get caught.. He doesn't just run aimlessly.. Reminds me of Selwood smarts. I found him to be quite excellent on both sides of his body which was surprising given I see him more as an extractor of the footy than a receiver. Another thing I quite liked was his ability when going forward to impact the scoreboard. He seemed quite competent on the lead or crumbing and Marc Murphy is showing how having no forward ability as a mid can be a huge detriment if you're getting tagged. Obviously aware of the Larke curse, but I see the intangibles you speak of as Sheed's best assets. I think he is very smart both with his positioning, his use and if you watched the game he hurt his collarbone against Vic Country, he had copped a tag the whole day and had the ability to beat it through hard running and footy smarts. He finished off kicking 4 goals and having 29 touches that day. For mine definitely a player who would suit our needs. What are your thoughts on him out of curiosity BH?
  5. Bad kick, inaccurate kick bad decision maker.. It doesn't matter. In the end it means the same result poor skills. It's named football for a reason and for way too long the most important skill in the game has been ignored.. Jason Dunstall wasn't an athlete but in 2013 I still believe he'd the best forward in the game. Jason Taylor will buck this ridiculous trend of drafting a player for leg speed or endurance or subcharacteristics of football because at the end of the day, watching our ball movement is embarrassing with our lack of skill. It begins now Jason, fix this football club.
  6. I feel sad for all the parties involved in this now. Sorry for the players, their unparalleled support for Hird after the documentary came across as a united front, but I'm a similar age to alot of their players and there's no way they're not questioning what's happened to them.. And reconsidering the effects that these anti-obesity drugs could do.... You can't help but feel sorry for Evans, Robinson the other night crying over a job that 2 years ago he probably thought made his life perfect, and even that absolute [censored] Hird. At the start I loved seeing his golden boy smile broken but it's beyond that now. I'm sorry for AFL and what's it's become. This year for many is a farce.. Will there be a number 9 in Finals.. Will Dons win the premiership only to get found guilty in the following season. If this teaches us anything, the AFL cannot allow this again and if we received 500,000 dollar fine for thinking about tanking and bringing the game into disrepute this sagas ability to push me away from AFL even as an avid lover of the game surely proves no fine will be ample for the damage done.
  7. Who's in form KC?
  8. I kicked 14 in a game once. Tom Lynch kicked 10 this year. Fitzy kicked 4 this week... 3 goals doesn't make you a good footballer especially given the opportunities he has been given. Andrew Walker is a great footballer yes he's done well in 2 positions but the whole argument that because some have done it well that we'll load up on a team of hybrids is stupid. We're not even competitive when everyone plays their best position let alone the one they're learning. I appreciate that I sound like an old die hard, but sadly my eyes are young enough to have seen enough finals to count on my two hands. Ones I actually remember, just my left hand will do. Still playing, I understand better than any the requirement of modern day footy. Troy Davis could be a good defender.. Currently he can't get a spot as a defender, and frankly that's great. It should force him to keep playing well to knock the door down. I cannot fathom why we waste our time playing him forward? Few questions: Is he closer to getting selected playing down forward? Who's spot did he take down forward? If he plays AFL next week where does he play? Is this a short term or long term move? As you mentioned with Carlisle, all his forward line work was done as a junior.. Did troy play there as a kid? Is that simply enough to get by.. It was for Jake. I'm not whinging about everything but like both you and I if we don't perform at work, questions get asked. For the coaches down at AAMI Park, enormous questions can be directed their way. Whatever relation you have with them may blind you into a state of comfort with our direction, but in the last 10 years there hasn't been a worse non expansion side in the league. I make no apologies for questioning every decision they make. Had they done the same we may not be in the position we are right now.
  9. Please. What a croc. Watts benefiting from the positional changes is a laugh. He was drafted as a key forward, he would be benefited if we'd let him develop there for 4 years instead of confusing the lad. He's changed 3 times this season. The above players you mention if anything show the contrary to your point. Hurley is a defender and Essendons persistence with him being a forward is ruining his career. Henderson is a poor forward and a worse defender. Walker is a natural midfielder, lining up on a back flank doesn't make him a defender. Loosest man marking I've ever seen. As for Carlisle, Hard admitted he'd never seen Jake forward before throwing him forward the other week. There was no adding to his bow. Melbourne have made terrible development decisions and trying to over coach will be another. The following players have changed positions this year: Sellar, Pederson, Nicholson, Watts, Dunn. Add trying to change Byrnes to be a midfielder, playing Kent as a mid in the VFL and a forward pocket in the AFL and it gets pretty clear to me. Instead of switching deck chairs, either pursue them in their best position or move them on for not being good enough. Neeld made a mockery with his Rivers going forward and the likes. He is now proven to be a pathetic coach, so let's move forward. Franklin doesn't try and be a backman, Frawley a forward. You've been sucked in for too long Sat, just because the players tell you trainings great and positional changes are good doesn't mean it's the case. 5 wins in 3 years show us it's the case. Think for yourself we won't judge you.
  10. Bloody soft. Alot softer than you sitting behind your computer. This soft kid was so weak that he was seniors football at the age of 16. What a bloody [censored] putting his teenage body up against men!! Now at 18 backing into a pack against the biggest bodies in the comp, knowing us with no voice from his teammates he lowered his head slightly.. Well holy [censored]. Josh hunt weighs 100 kilos and is built like a brick out house and he did a deplorable head drop last year. A three time premiership player. I love posters who came out with lines like this because it allows me from now on to ignore every post you make. Thank you. Hope your courage behind your desk is in top form also..
  11. Please Nasher that's PC gone crazy. If you think that's the most derogatory nickname in the AFL. This is a sport where it's 44 blokes who need complete trust in each other. If that joke is considered fine I'm gonna turn up to footy Saturday morning and tell the fellas to be very careful in the rev up speech. This is not racism, Harry needs to understand that understanding is a two way street. Just because he's doesn't take a liking to something he doesn't need the final say. I am incredibly firm against racism but at the end of the day Football clubs whether you like it or not are glorified blokes clubs and where you let off some gas where you cannot do at work or around the family. Cannot disagree with you more mate.
  12. Buckley nicknamed Paul Seedsman 'Lez' after Lesbian because of his horrific haircut. He said it in a team meeting and apparently Harry spoke up and said don't say that he said it again and all the players cracked up laughing. Harry went off at Bucks and the rest is history. Just be bloody glad he's not at Melbourne. For someone who's plays AFL and supposes to have ideal views I personally think he's so far off he doesn't even notice it.
  13. Hahahah. This is classic. Thank **** Jackson isn't my boss I'd be [censored] bricks every morning I came to work. Pathetic basketcase no longer.
  14. If he doesn't who does Clint. We've bought in players who have had AFL careers and played in premierships and Grand Finals, in Byrnes and Rodan, and we are so defunct, these veterans are completely unable to help. How supporters expect 18 year olds to come in and even dominate in such a terrible team with no old leadership is beyond me. Stop comparing him to Joel Selwoods first year, and look at his assets and just think about how they'll help us in the future. I can't cope with the negativity so for the love of mercy, stop spreading the word to the idiots who actually have no football brain (you're not in that category) but they read this and start threads saying should we have picked Wines.... Jimmy will be a jet. He'll break lines not like we've seen this millennium in the red and blue. Just give him time.
  15. Seriously though.. Be quiet tona. Comparing people who actually sacrifice their life for our country to people who play sport for excessively good money is far far worse than someone criticising a player. Get over it, it happens at every club because everyone in the world is passionate about sport. We get you want MFC to be back up there... We all do!!! But your current campaign makes you sound absolutely stupid.
  16. I can tell you now all players have a 'keycard' that gets them into AAMI Park at all times. They may have been locked out of one room but the pool weights room and all the main components would be assessable. Just another Dermott storm in a teacup story.
  17. Respect you getting back into posting, need more reasonable people back on here. DL is turning to shiat. On your topic, Moloney like Shane Warne was always a great leader.. Loud voice and clearly a good motivator. Sadly for both of them just because they thought they were good leaders didn't mean they deserved the top job. Warney was the smartest cricketer to ever live and his brain far exceeded that of Steve Waugh's but his actions didn't match the requirements of a leader. 10 years later he was given captaincy of the Melbourne Stars and this year as captain threw a ball at Samuels showing he still doesn't get what actually is the role of a captain. You can't be THAT guy. Moloney is similar. The year we were planning in changing captains after Green had been poor he was embroiled in a urinating on the wall incident. Sure not murder but as the head of a football club it's simply an unacceptable act. I'm not sure if you've heard this story but Gary ablett owns a 2 story house in the GC. In his first year he gave the young players his number and said if you get too [censored] call me I'll pick you up and we can finish the night with a few chilled ones at mine.. That way you won't do anything stupid. His bottom level was a pad for the boys to go back and chill out together instead of going home at 4am after fights. Supposedly it became a tradition and this off season the players enjoyed going back to Gazzas sitting round playing pool more than the going out. That there is leadership. The two Jacks may not be as vocal or even bleed red and blue like Brent but they're are light years ahead in modern day leadership skills.
  18. Bump.... Apologies this is a thread from a while ago.. My point remains. To all who thought Moloney leaving, and was playing so well for Brisbane.. Last Friday night was the perfect reminder for me of why we let Brent go. Actually cheered up my weekend. For all the Neeld bashing going on, and I am currently very much in the pro-leaving side.. It proved to me he made the right hard decision on this one. Nothing more than a front runner and subbed out at half time after copping half a tag was just hilarious. Well done Mark, you've done something right.
  19. God its frustrating to read. He hasn't been back.. We all know you have some relation with the coaching panel, good for you. Doesn't mean you don't know what goes on behind closed doors. Ox reached out on radio and said I will coach Melbourne in any way possible to help this club when Mark was asked about it he was very passive with it. Ever since ox has knocked Mark so safe presumption is he turned down schwarta's help. Fair enough too.. We get you know people at Melbourne. It's good for you. It doesn't make your comment any more right than the next persons though..
  20. Tom Scully: 'I won't leave Melbourne!'
  21. Everyone talks about the captaincy as Neelds biggest mistake.. If I remember correctly they gave Jones the captaincy against GC and unfortunately for him it was by far his worst game and his body language that particular Sunday was terrible.. Jack and Jack are leading maybe the worst team since Fitzroy, Brett Kirk couldn't lead them.. I think we just give them time!
  22. Those 6 disposals were far more effective than Dan Nicholsons 12. Other than Nicholsons goal he is horrendous by foot, and a blight to the team. Both he and Jetta shirked going back against the flight against Richmond and Nicholson also did it against Gold Coast the week before. I've heard the intensity debate and I don't buy that for a second. He spanked Nahas, and beat Aaron Hall the week before. Last year he had the best disposal efficiency for the team.. I'd say in this shambles of a team that's good enough by itself.
  23. I believe he will be first emergency Ralphie, but that sort of makes it worse in my opinion. We've dropped you.. but come for the travel and sit on the side.. Oh #ByeNeeld
  24. Name more than 5 players who played AFL standard last Sunday DavidNeitz9. Also, thankyou for your incredible insight into the conversation.
  25. Are you ******* kidding me Mark. You are absolutely useless . Last Sunday, I left the ground with a reoccuring theme of disappointment. Melbourne had been spanked again.. Gawn ruined my supercoach, Jones tried (both) yet this time we at least had a dip. One player I paid particular attention to was James Strauss. Alot gets written on here about James.. A disappointment at pick 19 I'd have to agree with, but after going to a few Casey games this year and seeing him get 20+ touches at that level I wanted to work out what wasn't happening at AFL level. For 120 minutes I watched James place his left hand on the jumper of Nahas, King and Edwards and not let up. Later in the week we'd find that in a 60 point win, Nahas got given such a bath by him that he got dropped. I would consider that a win in a team full of losses. For anyone who was there, when he gets the ball (and going off on a tangent, he's 'elite' skills get spoken about pre-season and often quoted) but for the first time on Sunday I saw them in full flight. Had around 10-15 touches and they were the best 10-15 touches coming out of our back half since Jack Watts was the only bloke who rocked up against Sydney last year. The guy has the best kick in our team. I'll stand by that comment. I left Sunday with him in my notebook as one of the few pluses, as regularly his teammates regularly pushed forward off their opponents to attack and leaving themselves vulnerable on the counter for countless goals. Beauty, I thought. One of our 'middle-young' brigade pushing through to cement his spot. Well to my shock-(expletive)-horror, Mark has managed to do it again. If not potentially going down as the worst Match day coach Melbourne has ever seen, Neeld has managed to malign the only bloke to beat his opponent on the weekend. I'm sure for his own justification he will cite that he did not do enough offensively, but upon seeing the teams on Friday night I've been lost for words since. Please someone tell me they see James as a better half back flanker than Dan Nicholson.. The guy does not defend, and when he attacks he turns it over... Am I missing some big joke at AAMI Park? But than I thought more about it, and realised he's been dropped this week for Jack Watts. What career comparisons. Jack spends 3 weeks out with a hammy and walks back into the poor bugger's spot, while he's worked his way back from a broken leg, played through Casey deserved his spot, and than been dropped in a team of cones. This is one rant on one player but it shows a much bigger picture, James getting dropped this week displays everything that is wrong with Melbourne. I love JW, but I mean we all see he's a forward now.. and his form as a backman before going out with injury was poor.. What gives him the right to walk back into the team, I'll never know. Mark Neeld you're dead to me.
