  1. That'll probably kill him!
  2. The original comment had nothing to do with PCness at all... it called you out for the comment being unnecessary; surely you've heard the expression "if you don't have anything nice to say..."etc. I suggest you go and take a look at the records of the mens' game when the comp first start way back when... the scores were pretty much on par with what we are seeing now in the AFLW. The main issue I can see with the AFLW is that in order to get the game a higher profile, they recruited "names" from other sports, meaning that many women who had been playing the game at roots level for a long time and who probably have better skill sets, are missing out. I don't know if that's still the case?
  3. Catering to the status quo.
  4. Given the fact that at the training sessions I went to mid to late January, Bennell was not even joining in with the rehab group, it is optimistic in the extreme to think that he would be joining in full training in two weeks time.
  5. But is classified officially as Kansas City Missouri; something one would think that the President of the country should probably know.
  6. Actually, the point here was that Kansas City is in Missouri... not Kansas.
  7. And then there was this ???...
  8. 5 actually, if you were a Geelong supporter. 3GL broadcast every Cats game.
  9. Or, if they really see a need to promote the game in the US, how about sending a couple of teams that will provide a good contest... possibly the match up between the previous season’s grand finalists?

  11. How much are we struggling for sport to discuss - American “foot”ball! Finding this post in the Melbourne Demons forum is like finding an anchovy on your meat lovers pizza. Surely it should be in the Other Sports forum (it only appeared here because of some very tenuous link to the MFC’s recent performance).
  12. Smith was looking very good before he succumbed to injury.
  13. Couldn’t agree more! I’d rather watch paint dry.
  14. That was the very first beer I ever tasted (back in the 60's)... at the old Mayfair Hotel in (was it?) Parkville or Carlton.
  15. Yeah, but isn’t he on the long term injury list?
  16. I get the feeling that his mental health issues are in part related to his inability to get himself physically right. I wonder whether there was possibly another setback in his recovery?
  17. DD... the comments being directed towards you have absolutely nothing to do with whether you or anyone else potted Hogan or not; they allude to the fact that you simply say the club got rid of him at the right time, yet not a word of acknowledgement re the personal hell he is obviously going through at the present moment. Maybe go back and re-read a few of the comments that preceded yours and then look at your own comment by way of a comparison... you might understand why you were seen as lacking in empathy.
  18. You are correct, but most of them don’t have their problems put out in the public space and splashed all over social media at such a young age. You showed zero sympathy with your comment re Hogan... I certainly hope you are a little more sympathetic with the people you deal with in your work as a volunteer.
  19. DiCaprio’s in town?
  20. Talking of insensitive... you’re suggesting that I go and check out Big Footy??!!??
  21. Possibly... I have no knowledge of what you’re alluding to, so I’ll reserve my judgement. However, it still doesn’t excuse the insensitive comments.
  22. In which case you should probably have been a little more thoughtful with your post.
  23. Apart from that, he’s been plagued by injury, lost his father after being on the other side of the country during his illness and was attacked in social media over his being seen smoking at a music festival (even lambasted for attending said festival while his father was gravely ill). The kid has been to hell and back... something that causes comments like drysdale demon’s insensitive remark, to make my blood boil!
  24. Empathy is not your strong suit it would seem.
  25. I hadn’t read about any of that (holiday mode)... you’re right (minus the alt) though, the club would be much better not associating themselves with him.
