  1. Good call
  2. Because it seems you revel in the negatives... witness your most recent comment in the Scully thread.
  3. What is the point of this?
  4. After completing the survey, I would actually be interested to hear from DemonsHQ just what it is they hope to get out of the results. To me it just seemed to be an exercise in profiling of the types of people that inhabit these and other (not necessarily sporting) forums and unless DemonsHQ intends to actively participate in these forums (or create a forum of their own), I honestly can't see how the results will be of any use at all. Could DemonsHQ please explain here, the point of this exercise?

    CHAOS

And here I was thinking there were 22 players in a side.
  6. Nope... in the first quarter I think we led the frees 10 - 9; that was when we were playing attacking football and going hard at it, often first in the contest. In the last quarter we were behind in every play and the ratio of frees against reflects that fairly accurately. But, I do have to say I get a laugh out of the conspiracy theories that abound in these umpiring threads.
  7. No offense was taken at all. I was merely stating that I believe he will have what it takes and that it has added benefits.
  8. Yes, you may well be right, but what Demitriou said was nothing new or particularly revelatory and nothing that hadn't been discussed in the press and on these forums before in relation to Scully.
  9. Yep, as they say, the grass is ALWAYS greener! We all wanted Sheedy... how do we all feel about him now? Now everyone wants another veteran in Malthouse,,, do you really think he is going to do better than Bailey? Do you really think he could have taken Collingwood to the position they enjoy now with our playing list and budget - how long do you think it will take him to get us to that position? Based on the fact that Malthouse is a seasoned premiership winning coach and Bailey came from virtually nothing, you will all be baying for Malhouse's blood if we aren't in the top 4 by the end of season 2012. I suppose the treatment meted out on these forums is the price Bailey must pay for putting development ahead of results... never mind the fact that like our playing list, he could be good for a premiership in 2013 as well.
  10. I am saying that he has the attributes that would more than likely make him a good captain down the track, so it would not be an offer made simply to keep him at the club (but could certainly be an incentive); and in case you didn't read closely... provisos were stipulated.
  11. Maybe it had something to do with the central theme of the initial post?: "I reckon that while Scully is as an exciting player I have seen come into the club in a long time, if he was to go, pick 2 aqnd 17 would soften the blow significantly."
  12. My thoughts are: FFS, why start yet another Scully thread????? It offers nothing new as there has already been plenty of discussion about compensatory picks.
  13. For me it has to be Scully. He is the only player that seems to be 100% focused on his football and always gives 100% regardless of whether he is training or playing (look no further than his return match for proof). I expect that one reason he is polling poorly here is that many believe he will be gone at season's end. Well, and I know I many will disagree with this, I am of the opinion that the club should be making some sort of guarantee of captaincy down the track (based on performance criteria of course), so that he is encouraged to remain at the club.
  14. Thanks guys... I might just hide the long lens at the bottom of my backpack and go in with the shorter lens attached to the camera. And EGD, I took your advice and did a Premium upgrade (section M14 Row O - in the pocket area) - may as well feel important for one day of the year :-)
  15. I really do like the way Bailey takes the conversation so that rather than feeding the journos by offering up speculation, he deals with the mundane aspects regarding the number of turtles and fish caught :-)
  16. On Monday someone also reported on Demonology that training is at 10am Sunday at Gosches Park
  17. The only change I could see might be Evans out for Bartram. Everyone has talked about the way Scully and Trengove compliment each others play and combine well, but I can also see a bit of that happening with Bennell and Jetta, which seems to bring the best out in both of them. Would be ludicrous to drop Jetta now that he is on a high. The only player I would not object to being dropped would be Robbo, so that My Friend the Chocolate Cake can have centre stage in the entertainment stakes (hoping they perform Jimmy Stynes).
  18. there's never an "infinite loop" emoticon around when you need one!
  19. Thanks Rogue... greatly appreciated. I'll be hauling a bit of photographic equipment in with me, so I'm wondering what will be the best part of the ground (will check out that seating map as you suggested)... maybe I should just try to locate Chris Connolly at practice on Sunday and remind him how he helped me out at the Shanghai game :-)
  20. Hey, when they first started playing together, that combination took us to a grand final game, if I remember rightly.
  21. in a way, their combination reminds me more than a little of the 'chemistry' that seemed to exist between Green and Bruce when they both first started playing together.
  22. I'm just wondering what the deal is with upgrades for members. I noticed these were available when I somehow inadvertently followed a link that took me to Ticketek or some such site and saw $20+ dollar upgrades for general members. Can someone enlighten me as to what an upgrade entitles you to, whether and where they can be purchased at the ground, and where the seating is located. Sorry if this sounds like it's something everyone should already know, but sadly this is my first visit to a game at the 'G' for many a long year. Thanks in advance.
  23. Surely Todd's reached puberty by now :-)
  24. Sorry... I'm blaming it on the subliminal effect of those Google maps satellite images from Waikato.
