I can't recall the incident, but if the above is true, what the heck is all the fuss about? It is perfectly reasonable to protect your body after you have done what needs to be done for the team. Or are people saying he should have marked it (and then ducked) rather than knock it down? Anyone have the vision?
Great effort in his first game.

I don't get the hope he fails. He could have done better but he also had bad luck injury wise and was here when we were in our cups. Good luck Col.
Agreed. He was no Morton/Gysberts/Cook etc who did SFA. Col gave us 10 years of service albeit inconsistently.

Their full best 22 was:
BEST 22
B: Colin Garland (25, 101 games), James Frawley (25, 118 games), Dean Terlich (24, 20 games)
HB: Jack Grimes (24, 68 games), Joel McDonald (21, 39 games), Lynden Dunn (26, 117 games)
C: Dom Tyson (20, 13 games), Jack Viney (19, 13 games), Jack Watts (22, 73 games)
HF: Jeremy Howe (23, 56 games), Chris Dawes (25, 83 games), Bernie Vince (28, 129 games)
F: Sam Blease (22, 10 games), Mitch Clark (26, 97 games), Jesse Hogan (18, 0 games)
R: Mark Jamar (30, 133 games), Jack Trengove (22, 79 games), Nathan Jones (25, 157 games)
INT: Viv Michie (21, 1 game), Daniel Cross (30, 210 games), Jimmy Toumpas (19, 14 games), James Strauss (23, 6 games)
Blease 10 games? That can't be right either.
edit: same goes for Strauss' 6 games.

Port has geniuses coming up with their slogans

Neeld should never have dropped him after that round 1 incident..
Neeld never should have played him round 1 (or traded for him for that matter)
-
If he gets a game next year, we are f**ked.
-
Michie: Didn't get a go at Freo due to their strong midfield, hopefully he becomes a big part of ours next year
Blease: Has rare pace that our team sorely lacks, hope he can become consistent
Strauss: Would be nice if he cemented a spot in the backline with his kicking, than we wouldn't need the likes of Clisby
-
Freo had a brain fart letting him go.
It's not like they didn't want to keep him.

What happened to his stalker?

Nev has a lot in common with his 2008 draft mates Blease, Strauss & Bail.
They have all spent a lot of time injured and showed promise in patches, and have had to play in one of the worst sides of all time, so it's not unreasonable to give them another chance.
On the other hand, none of them have been able to sustain good performances for one reason or another. So 2014 is the make-or-break year for all 4 of them. Unfortunately, any who spend a lot of the season injured won't get another chance.
Strauss and Blease at least have attributes that could be considered elite in kicking and pace respectively, which makes it worth persisting with them. Jetta has nothing.

Ridiculous decision. The guy has shown nothing in five years and now we give him more chances.
Exactly. We know he's not up to it, so how about taking someone that might be?

Wouldn't be any better than Sellar you'd think.

No slider for us

I've heard a rumour that the Giants are keen on Boyd.
Rumour also has it that North are likely to select Luke McDonald

Cheers,
Good to see fatboy pederson running up the front of the pack.
More likely that he's about to be lapped

And I don't even remember that.
All I remember from his first game is him smashing Rhyce Shaw. Pretty much the best thing he's ever done!

Let's extend Hogan and re-sign Frawley first.

Jetta is very lucky to survive the cut.

Why would anyone want to go to StKilda?
-
Gotta say, just based on the video, Freeman's speed doesn't look that great, certainly not Judd-like which is what i was expecting, given the hype about it. Looked like he had just enough to stay ahead. Skills looked pretty average too.
-
Surely he can just put himself into the regular draft as well. If so, good for one of our low picks?
Yeah either way I guess, though if he wants to come to us, via the PSD guarantees it I suppose.

Miles is uncontracted, wouldn't mind getting him in the PSD, seems no one of note is available.

Shaun McKernan is an option, although I don't think we need a ruckman or KPF. I think he has more to offer than he has shown to date, but it still might not be enough.
He's a spud and he's contracted also so will be staying at Adelaide

Trade Frenzy - Saints trade period looking better by the minute.
Yep they've done well, getting Bruce, Delaney and Longer for close to SFA. Brisbane have been absolutely reamed.

I'm struggling with the fact that a VFL player somehow got a 3 year contract.
