  1. Given that there are no VFL matches this weekend, hard to know whether he would have been ready this weekend or not.
  2. There's no match for Casey this weekend, practise matches have finished, and opening VFL game is on Easter Monday. Not ideal for him, regardless of why he's out.
  3. Good selections, let's see how we do. Surprised for Brayshaw, not sure it's just about him having an off game last week, perhaps they're playing it safe with the head knock or other injury issues.
  4. You/we don't know what was said behind closed doors at the club, which is all that really matters.
  5. Yes and no. The medical profession isn't above dodgy practises, but even with mainly ethical doctors, you could still have a prescription drug epidemic.
  6. Obviously nothing. You needed to get confirmation of the question before making the assertions. No, he didn't play.
  7. Seeing he can't even get a game at the Pies, that's perhaps debatable.
  8. I wish we had a team full of players as awful as Hogan with his 21 possessions and 10 marks. No, he didn't get any goals, but he created opportunities for others, and his work further up the ground was consistently strong.
  9. Brayshaw's not going anywhere. Not unless there's an injury issue. It'll take more than one quiet match, and having him run round in the middle at Casey getting a lazy 25+ possessions doesn't help anyone. He's a mid being played out of position due to competition for spots, but equally, all part of his development.
  10. No. It shows that if he's collecting the pill, someone from the opposition isn't.
  11. You're only looking at what didn't work, and ignoring what did. 7 tackles, 12 marks, and amongst the leaders for clearances etc. Focusing only his clangers, while ignoring everyone else's, doesn't help give credibility to the anti-Tyson argument. Cripps and Gibbs, both (arguably) two champions of the game, each had 5 clangers, with efficiency around that of Tyson's ... but without the possessions or everything else Tyson contributed. Was he perfect? Far from it. But compared to the majority of our mids (and theirs), he made a substantial contribution. Incidentally, there was another player on the weekend who had high possessions, but at a kicking efficiency even lower than Tyson's and with almost as many clangers: Patrick Dangerfield
  12. Is it only on Demonland that supporters call for the guy who was arguably our best player to be dropped?
  13. 2 points to add to all that: - not enough respect for Stretch. 2nd game in a row with over 20 possessions, a few clearances, a few tackles. Nothing remarkable, but playing his role well and consistently, and whenever he gets the ball generally does something with it. - we need Vince. An older head, and gives us a lot of drive off half-back.
  14. We don't do anything about it because it didn't happen.
  15. This is what a work in progress looks like. It's still a young team.
  16. Disposal. Turning it over too often, keeping them in it.
  17. There is an App as well if you want to watch on phone or tablet: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/watch-afl/id1192125380?mt=8
  18. International: https://www.watchafl.com.au I have a yearly subscription, but believe you can do by shorter periods. They also have an App. Works well for the most part.
  19. Exactly. As opposed to a banging-on-about-my-pet-hobby-horse-every-chance-I-get-and-then-some thread. Tiresome, repetitive, shallow and tedious, and for the most part, OT.
  20. Your contribution to this thread, and every thread where the name of Oscar McDonald appears, would suggest otherwise.
  21. Wagner back training but will need a couple of weeks. Hibberd has an archilles problem, due to restart training, will also need a couple of weeks. Then, both will need games at Casey. Hard to see them being ready inside a month. Frost is close to resuming, was half-expected at Casey on the weekend, presumable will start playing again next week. But as above, then needs match fitness. Info on the site from last week, imagine we'll get an update over the next couple of days, together with news on Smith, but his looks much more long-term.
  22. Apparently not. Was mentioned somewhere here re the Casey game. Don't quote me though. Whatever happened, I'd be very surprised if Frost was ready.
  23. Oscar McDonald: You see what you want to see. He will line up every game this year unless injured/unavailable. Meanwhile ... Tyson for Smith. Kent is best 22, but hard to see who you could drop - unless there's something specific in matchups.
  24. Really think bringing Lewis in will be the making of Jones (and Vince). Everyone walks a little taller, and pushes themselves a little harder. Lewis is (still) elite in the way he goes about it, on field and off.
