Aaron Davey has been given two weeks for his retaliatory strike as reported on SEN. Hopefully he learns his lesson. I thought he'd only get a week. We will miss his speed but at least we aren't fighting for a finals spot. Meanwhile, in keeping with its policy of protecting those who hit Melboune taggers, Simon Black got a reprimand for his whack on Godfrey.

Fevola - a challenge for the new coach?
dees189227 replied to Pinball Wizard's topic in Melbourne Demons
No worries about Fevola this week - Not playing - hes been suspended - his future at Carlton in doubt. One less worry for Bomber Riley. -
I loved all his speeches he made at family days, best and fairest nights I always left feeling pumped. He loved the club so much. Loved when we knocked over geelong by 1 point at skilled, loved all his reactions in the coaches box, I loved it when we beat the bulldogs and he ran down down the stairs celebrating then hugged everyone and his sense of humour. Loved 2000 when we beat carlton and it was great how he handled the 2002 bali bombings with arma and febes and with the Troy Broadbridge tragedy. I'm sure there are many more but can't think of them.

Mark Riley is caretaker coach. Has been confirmed

Poor Neale, it sucks because there is no way he deserved to leave melbourne that way. The players have let him down. Thanks neale for everything. I didn't think your coaching career at melbourne would finish this wasy. Tomorrow will be a sad sad night.
-
Todd Viney. It would be great to have a melbourne person back at the club. He would soon toughen some of these players up.

NEALE DANIHER - TO FINISH AT END OF THE YEAR
dees189227 replied to beelzebub's topic in Melbourne Demons
Thanks Neale for your service. It's sad in a way. He is a great guy and he did not deserve to finish his last season like this. Hope some of the players see this as a wake up call. You have let him down by insipid performances. Now hopefully we can get someone who will toughen us up like a voss. We do not need Connolly or Harvey and not Pagan -
Last week they put it up on half time. Email the club because I bought some against adelaide and forget to look at the board. They will email you back. Just use the general enquiries address.

I was watching it takes two last night on channel 7 and they showed David Hobson who is an opera singer and a massive melbourne supporter in the melbourne rooms talking to robbo and neita. He took along his son and his partner on the show mimi mcpherson and they showed him sitting in the grandstand and all of that. After his performance he said he was all pumped up because the demons knocked off the pies who he hates. Then he said I invited a few players along tonight and then they went to flash wheels, and pickett. I just got a shock cause when I was watching it I didn't excpet 3 melbourne players to be shown in the audience.

http://afl.com.au/Season2007/News/NewsArti...px?newsId=44912 Neale should feel happy that captain has come out to support him not that Neita would ever come out to bag him. But it's good to see the support shown.

Here are some of mine. Robbo's 7 goals. Great to see him back. Matty Bate marking everything and kicking that beautiful goal from outside 50 Godders goal. Garry Lyon said at the time you know melbourne are in for a good day when Godders can kick a goal on his right foot Holland towelling up Rocca Neitz demanding to come on in the last quarter. What a leader. Did a few nice leads in the 4th term Brock. I just love him Bizzell- I love his run off the back line wheatley. i do like him and his long kicks are awesome. I feel more confident when he does the kick ins. Walking past the pies supporters after them game with the great satisfaction we beat them. and laghing at Joffa's tea cosy he had on his head when I watched the replay later on. I'm sure there are many more I've missed.

You can tell that the players love him. I reckon almost every senior player has come out and said don't blame the coach. After the game when Danners waited for them to come off they all ran up and hugged him and patted him on the back and stuff. You can tell that they really want to win for him. It will be interesting to see what they do.
-
Thanks for that. I annoyed I couldn't make it. Hope you really stirred up those pies ferals at young and jacksons. Could you tell a bit more with what danners said.

I was surrounded by collingwood supporters. today. I had a whole heap of them behind me, and I thought bloody hell I hope we win. Anyway they were pretty good. No swearing no abusing our players. They couldn't believe that Brock got a free against him in that last quarter and 50 when he threw the ball into the chair, they bagged wakelin and they told Rocca to get off the ground. When we won I turned around and they had all cleared off. Overall I was actually impressed with them. Not your typical pies supporters. By the way did anyone see Joffa's benaie on the replay. As Robert Walls said is Joffa wearing a tea cosy on his head.
-
It was at melbourne park. Come one someone that uses this board must have gone
-
I know he could have given some free kicks away because he kept holding onto roccas arm but apart from that he held Rocca to 2 kicks while collecting 11 disposals himself. Even the pies supporters were getting into rocca especially when he gave away that stupid free kick in the last quarter when he tried to jump over the pack. Well done benny! Two years in a row he has thrashed Rocca!

Unfortunately i couldn't make it after the game. But i'd like a report on it. How was it? Did Danners speak. I could imagine him being all happy and excited. Who else spoke? reports please

This was meant to be the weekend yze broke the record.
dees189227 replied to dees189227's topic in Melbourne Demons
Really i thought it was meant to be this weekend. I thought I read it on another forum somewhere. Oops my mistake. Sorry People's. Never the less he still should be there on monday. -
Nathan Brown will probably be thinking bloody hell now I have to face him in the two's. Hopefully wheels gets through the game and can come straight back in the team.

I know he has been out injured but this was meant to be the weekend yze broke the record for the most consecutive games. Which means he would have fired up an played well. However looking at his his last queen birthday games he kicked 4 last year and 3 the year before. We have to play him on monday, the game is set for him, plus it would be nice to have another crumber down there or another small to help Davey out. -
Who is Danihers current love child
dees189227 replied to demonsflag555657's topic in Melbourne Demons
I actually think it James McDonald. I remember reading about it once how he favours james. Also I think he has a soft spot for Godderes cause he is a battler. But McDonald is his favourite -
At the moment Tarkyn is Collingwoods best fielder and in all australian form. So far godders has done the job especially on saturday when he kept thommo to just 12 touches when he averages 25 a game. So I say throw him on Tarks and shut him down. Also forgive me if I'm wrong but last year did Benny do a magnificent job on Rocca?

I thought I heard last wekend that roo was coming through threw the adelaide reserves -
Well done Brocky!! he's my favourite player. Just love the way he goes in hard and doesn't bother that he's going to get knocked over in a contest. Has great skills and is definitely a future captain. Last week when he ran onto the ground for the 1st tiem the cheer and roar he got was awesome. A journo in the herald sun on monday said McLean must be loved by all demons fans because he couldn't believe the cheer he got. The journo said it was like Robbie Flower had returned. Go Brocky have a great game.

On the back it says that Bucks is due to come back against us. That's all we need, him to come back to lift the team and it will make the supporters even more feral. I wonder what he thought the other night when Harvey did his agian. I'm guessing he would be very nervous and wouldn't get a lot of game time if he was to return.
