Wow I actually gave Carlton a chance today, but this is just horrible. There could be a mass walk out at half time. This was a team that beat essenscum who have beaten teams like geelong and gws at there home ground. Well the loser out of the suns and saints could escape scrutiny because I think next week the focus will be on Carlton.

I haven't been to geelong since that horrible day. But can we just rock up and by a general admission ticket? It never seems to be a sellout.

We also have to come up against Lindsay Thomas next week as well. Great.

So who do we put on Wines next week? The games this weekend on free to air arent to bad. Tonights is ok, tomorrow night Sydney v WC will be a cracker and Saturday night Hawthorn Adelaide will be interesting and its a shame we don't get Geelong Richmond on sunday arvo.

I wonder if Roosy was asked an opinion about this as they are former teammates and good friends still. Anyway did not see this coming but good on melbourne because even the main footy reporters obviously didn't get the scoop. Maybe things arent leaking out anymore. When they talked about it on classified the other week Perts name wasn't mentioned. He has big shoes to fill.

Well just got home from the game. The way I saw it was collingwood were just to quick for us, they went up the middle all day, cox killed us, they had multiple goal kickers and shared it around, we over handballed in the first term, dropped simple marks lacked pressure, missed easy tackles and didn't have enough players kicking goals, some of our big name players didn't exist and again we were smashed in the clearances. Our midfield coach has a lot of work to do and viney on the radio after the game acknowledged its 2 weeks in a row we have been smashed in clearances. But this is a reality check. Im confident we will bounce back. Im not about to make ridiculous calls about trading players out or if goodwin is still the right guy. If we get thrashed by port in 2 weeks then I may ask questions. But its not time to over react. We have had a good 6 weeks.

Maybe we don't want 2nd spot. Collingwood just to quick and used the corridor well.

Maybe its the reality check we need.

Need petracca to lift to. Stick him in the forward 50 and see how he goes. But we need to lift big time.

What did people make of the Hodge heppell collision? A player goes off concussed and people go on a rage about it. All I saw was hodge go for the ball keep running and Heppell was exposed. I never saw Hodge deliberately raise an elbow or set to knock him out. Just one of those footy incidents.

Did anyone see Neale Daniher's speech to the Melbourne players that they showed after the footy last night on 7? I just found part of his talk here. It's interesting to see during the week when he spoke to collingwood and essendon he was joking around having a laugh but when he spoke to the Melbourne players and apparently the whole Melbourne staff were told to come in and listen, he was all serious and spoke about taking our opportunities and about why not. He said why not take our opportunity this year and have success. Why can't you go on and be premiers. Spoke about the last premiership being in 1964 and said its time for us to win it. You could just see the look in the players eye especially Jonseys that he gets it. Gee if that doesn't motivate the boys Im not sure what will. Neale is just amazing. You think after each Queen's birthday you are never sure if Neale will be around the following year but he is still fighting on. I think it's great for any 1st year player this year hears Neal speak and learn from him.

I only caught the 2nd half last night and cant believe port held on without kicking a goal in that final term. But I was going for port because now if we win we grab 2nd. But what was with ports game plan just to kick it down the boundary and aim for there. If they do that against us in a few weeks we will just plant Max there to mark the ball. On Rance I don't think he took another dive but gee Im telling you put him 1 on 1 and he gives away frees all the time. a couple of times last night he was penalised for holding. also how angry does he get when things don't go his way?
