  1. I don't need to be at any meetings mate. None of us do. The facts speak for themselves. I can't believe you are arguing 'we are carp anyway, whats the point of having an elite KPF' is that seriously what you are saying? He is deadset worth 6 wins at least on his own, anyone who says otherwise has no idea about football. I can't believe you are discussing some Hogan hypothetical, it is not relevant mate, we are talking about CLARK and WHAT HE DID
  2. Your personal work history has nothing to do with anything mate!
  3. I was typing as you were. Obviously I haven't been able to move on like you have.
  4. the difference between you and most of us is that you love the players more than you do the club. The club goes first. If anybody pulls a shifty on this club they go on my sh1tlist forever. Clark's shifty is one of the biggest in the history of the AFL and I really mean that. The idea that anyone could apologise for him is staggering to me. Have you stopped for a second to think how incredibly handy it would be to have a key forward of Coleman medal ability on our list right now? That could be worth who knows, 5 or 6 wins? Maybe more? What about having somebody for Hogan to come up alongside with? What's that worth? Given our precarious state of existence and urgent need to improve, this is a HUGE thing we have missed out on - if Clark had done the obvious, decent thing to do and rejoined us we would be deadset contenders for the finals and that is something all of us very much deserve after a decade of putting up with utter garbage - and we have missed out on not by bad luck but by the selfless actions of a despicable individual who has betrayed us all. It makes my blood boil every time I think about it.
  5. 'Ladies and Gentlemen of the court - I submit to you that Mitchell Clark has had his character defamed'... just working on my opener for this landmark case :I
  6. that's just fantastic, I'm glad we could have this chat. You should post more often. ffs. slow time of year
  7. I'm still allowed to point out how silly it is though Any grown adult who thinks it through for a few seconds would have to reach the same conclusion
  8. and of course, what sort of 'plan of action' is it when it is obvious that a by-product of such a move would be to attract a huge amount of contempt from the public? I'm not just talking about us, the whole comp outside of the Cats )of course) thinks the bloke is a complete dog for what he has done. This was obviously going to happen. How dangerous is that for somebody supposedly in recovery from depression? Clearly the thing to do was rejoin the club that supported him. I have never believed for a second that there is any merit at all to the 'change of environment' story. It doesn't make sense.
  9. Allan La Fontaine 4 1935, 1936, 1941, 1942 Jim Stynes 4 1991, 1995, 1996, 1997 So... if Jones gets #4 he'll be the first ever to do it (consecutively) in 80 years of the award
  10. The idea that Clark would sue this website is excessively silly
  11. LOL I googled 'Godwin's Law' My comment remains a perfect refutation to the notion that so-called 'karma' actually exists If it does, Clark will be hit by an ice cream truck that somehow crashes through the fence at Kardinia park
  12. Not sure if they exist. Plenty of Nazi war criminals escaped to South America and spent the rest of their days livin' it up.
  13. that's not even a response. How does that relate to him going to Geelong?
  14. Bottom line : Even if you believe his h0rsesh1t story about being depressed and needing to retire, you can't excuse him going to another club when he was 'well' again. You could talk for 1000 years and I wouldn't be convinced otherwise.
  15. not really, we're actually going OK. Only two of those are important players and the others aren't even injured AFAIK. However, there are others, such as Watts, who are in the squad but their ticket is secured. We still have three weeks for some lucky lads to snatch up some remaining tickets just for once, God, please, can we have something that is somewhere near our best 22 for round 1
  16. You going to start a thread bagging us for picking Petracca/Brayshaw instead? Quick, you can be the first
  17. What a number he has pulled on us! I'm the only person on this board that called out this weak dog for what he is on the day he 'retired' Of course I got howled at and called all sorts of things by most of you lot Never forget
  18. North has beaten us THIRTEEN times in a row, which goes back NINE years as a losing streak They have a W/L record of 38/28 over the last 3 years...plus 4 finals for 2 wins... we would kill for that
  19. what's so good about locking them in for those years anyway? It is really year 6/7/8/9 that the major damage is done on-field, and these kids will still get the opportunity to run for the big money at age 22 anyway
  20. surely he won't play the club knows if there is even the slightest doubt... and they sent him out there.. and something happened.. boy would there be some upset characters
  21. not named: brayshaw, harmes, howe, hunt, kent, king, o-mac, anb, petracca, spencer, riley, terlich, trengove, vince, white
  22. and brownlow votes, club best and fairest awards, all-australian selections etc etc etc you will still find on a near-daily basis someone on this site throwing out the 'lottery' line
  23. He might like it, but he probably likes money more Imagine getting a 4-year contract at age 18 with zero games to your name The players have really done a number on everybody and have way, way, way too much power these days
  24. I'm not being a smart arse. I am pointing out that in the year 2015 there is absolutely nothing 'new-fangled' about the internet. Perhaps the club disagrees with your position, given the proportion of revenue raised vs the overheads they have observed when comparing physical to online/phone sales that would explain the lack of importance placed on it, wouldn't it? Don't forget that the club staff is not myopic, but a mix of people who have worked at other AFL clubs and other sporting organisations. They know how things work, and it may well be that physical mebership stands are a thing of the past. It might be that the cost of setting them up and paying people to man them outside the ground on match day actually creates a loss on the balance sheet. I know that speaking personally it wouldn't occur to me to find a tent and line up on gameday when I can get the job done from my desk in about 3 seconds A lot of people like to use this site as a vessel to carp on the club without necessarily being aware of the facts
  25. I see you prefer to dish out it (as you do every time I see you post) rather than take it I have been to six training sessions, I don't show up for the one a year where there is a friggin sausage sizzle you featherweight
