  1. Grimes and McKenzie... why is it at Melbourne we have so many players actually go BACKWARDS in their careers? It is not supposed to happen that way, and it makes little sense when it does. We always go 'wow, if he's this good now, imagine him in a few years with a bigger body, bigger tank and some experience' yet they actually end up WORSE than they were in their first couple of years. Is the same thing going to happen to Brayshaw, Kent, Hogan and Salem?
  2. so who's writing garbage, Nathan Jones + Paul Roos + Tommy Mac and myself... or you? we were shocking sorry for disagreeing with your glowing assessment of the performance
  3. Just wondering if you agree or disagree with the captain? Or is he making a 'garbage' comment? http://www.sen.com.au/news/05-15/jones-disgusted-and-embarrassed-by-fremantle-loss “It was really embarrassing, we were pretty disgusted with the result, particularly that last 20 minutes of the game,” Jones said. “It was obviously really disappointing.” “One of the real keys with Roosey is team first, and as the game unfolded on the weekend we saw guys put their own individual goals and decisions above of the team,” he said.
  4. did pavlich take his kick when he went off? no, because the percentage play is to have someone else take it in that scenario not necessarily salem's fault, blame the runner, the coach, the skipper but a goal went begging at a time when we still had a pulse if it was Watts there would be a thread devoted to it
  5. his kick was a regulation set shot on goal (albeit a 40 metre penalty instead of 50) that he missed
  6. just wish anybody else in the side was even close to him even Jones hasn't been up there this year
  7. Correct. I keep comng back to this year after year. It does go a long way to explaining who wins games of football - our problem is that the average experience of our 22 stays low season after season. The reaosn is because we have players get to 50-100 games and instead of going on with careers , they fizzle out and get replaced by kids. This year it's Grimes, McKenzie, Pederson, etc etc etc
  8. yeah cos all ruckmen are the same talking up spencer i expect the knife will be out if he ever gets picked and plays poorly
  9. aww diddums "I think the boys can hang there heads high after that performance considering were we have come from." ill be on the lookout for more now, and i make no apologies if your precious little feelings get hurt hang their heads high. fmd hang yours in shame
  10. yes but as we all know, it's pointless if your midfield gets pantsed in the way ours has twice this year do we have the midfield cattle going forward?
  11. Funny that your analysis of the game differs greatly from Tommy Mac's - who was visibly filthy and stated in no uncertain terms that we were terrible yesterday
  12. He's correct though, it IS his fourth year. He's played 40 games, not 30, so that's a fact YOU didn't get right. Just because he only played 13 of a possible 44 in his first 2 years doesn't mean you just wipe them from the record. He was still around the club developing in developing in other ways, the way Hogan and now Petracca did. You can't just say he's on the same page as Salem, for example. He's gone backwards for sure. I hope it's because he's injured.
  13. almost unprecedented love it
  14. next thing you know I'll be up on my high horse randomly scolding posters with political diatribe like some social justice warrior who accidentally stumbled on a footy site sleep tight Helen
  15. shouldn't we have been able to see some evidence of SOMETHING changing? I'm not the first one to suggest that Roos might have a weakness in finding a plan B when we are getting smacked. You are right though, we can't know to what extent his orders are being followed. The other thing to think about is that maybe he has his plan in place, and he refuses to deviate it from it because of the scoreboard - on the rationale that the only way they can come to terms with it and eventually execute it properly is to get it wrong for a while and stick at it. It's just really frustrating watching us find nothing but traffic jams all over the field while our opponent is just running and going wherever they please, all day long
  16. yeah but like I keep saying, if you put aside how good our opponent was, we as a side were still putrid
  17. seriously man I apologise. I know the Iraq war is a sensitive topic for you. We're just lucky we have you to remind us of the seriousness of the situation when someone makes a throwaway joke on a footy website have a glass of concrete, on the house
  18. good thing that device you use to 'pencil things in' has an eraser on the other end an eraser you've worn down to the nub :D
  19. I can only imagine if I was in his position and had my apparent 'softness' called into question publicly on many, many occasions, that I would be doing my darndest to go out there and play like a maniac it's not just from his own supporters and the media, over the journey he MUST have had several coaches get into his ear about it but he doesn't change ps I usually back him in, time after time, but it's starting to wear very thin. It's just so frustrating watching talent get wasted
