  1. I'd rather his stupid antics stay as far away from our club as possible. As much as he's a good player, his behaviour is not even worth it. No thank you.
  2. Top kid. He should be happy he's coming into a team where his best years should see us in a premiership window. He's going to be a star.
  3. Absolutely brilliant news, no doubt about it. Glad this saga is over and now we can look forward to the draft.
  4. Can't see it happening, but who knows, football is a funny business.
  5. I'm just hoping for continued development of the young kids and improvement of game. I'm confident we wont be finishing on the bottom next year. There's no more priority picks to worry about, so from Round 1 we'll be coming out all guns blazing to win. It's going to be such a great feeling to finally WANT to win games next year instead of hoping we win no more than 4 games. I hated it, but we needed it to happen. So next year is the releasing of the shackles for the coach, players and supporters. I'd like to see about 8+ wins because going by last year's results and how we played against some teams, we really could have gotten close to that number. With good pre-seasons pumped into our players and more added young kids from the draft, I see no reason why we couldn't achieve this. It's a big year for Bailey to show us finally what he is made of. I'm not expecting to make the 8, but at the very best I think we are able to get very close if we have a consistent season and everything falls into place in terms of how far our developing kids have come.
  6. Great year from Ricky this year. Like to see his good form continue and hopefully we can hang onto him.
  7. Keane with 4 goals, wow. As for Chelsea, disgraceful performance. Absolutely DISGRACEFUL!
  8. Indeed. The Cats and Saints fans must have been feeling sick to the stomach in that last quarter. Great match for the neutral though. None of this boring Geelong-Port blowout crap.
  9. Great post, Jack7. I think there are some people who just wanted success as quickly as possible. With the list we had pre-Bailey, there was no way we were going anywhere. Most of their best days were behind them. We have a terrific list of quality young kids with a good mix of experienced heads. Bailey's job of rebuilding this team into what we can see will most likely be a great team in the future has been terrific thus far. We just all need to be patient about it. Next year and onwards we really see if Bails can coach this team up the ladder. I'd rather wait a few more years until we are genuine premiership contenders (hey, we've all waited long enough anyway), than to plod along with a very average list and achieve nothing of great notice.
  10. Where would people like to see him play? Up forward or in the middle?
  11. Still think he has a bit to show. Always liked him. Hope we don't trade him.
  12. I guess it evened out in the end. Hawkins hits the post, but gets the goal and the Saints get a second dubious shot in front of goal. Still doesn't excuse the umpires from making some bad decisions. Saints probably deserved to win on the day, but Geelong are still worthy winners. Would have been disappointing for them to have only one premiership to show for the last 3 years of dominance.
  13. He's had the job for two years where he's basically been rebuilding from the ground up. We seemed impressed with him when he hired him and there must have been a reason for it. Give him some time. Next year the real stuff starts.
  14. Why would we get rid of a 30 year old forward and replace him with another? No doubt Bradshaw is a great player and can kick goals, but I think we'll definitely pass.
  15. Melbourne, just do whatever you can do sign this bloke up. Not only would we lose our best player, but also his mentoring of the other aboriginal kids at the club. We don't want to see players like Jurrah and Wonna jumping ship down the track as well. I'd even give Davey the captaincy after Macca retires. I think he's more than up for it. Whilst I don't think he will be going, I said the same thing about Brock. The doubt is planted in the mind as a result. EDIT: If this is true, rejoice! A weight has been lifted off my shoulders. Still undecided about whether or not we should go for Burgoyne.
  16. Always haven't minded PJ. Hasn't set the world alight, but is solid when he actually performs. The review is very accurate, his consistency a problem. Still don't know if going with Jamar, Meesen and Spenser in ruck would be strong enough though. I guess we can put Martin there if need be.
  17. Definitely needs a change. As long as Davey, Jurrah and Grimes are on there I'm happy.
  18. Saw his attempt at Street Talk last night. Have to say it made me laugh, but only at how stupid he was acting. He'd have to be incredibly embarrassed looking back at his behaviour.
  19. Tough call for me to make on this. I think the Cats will get over the line, but at the same time, the Saints supporters have been waiting a long time for a premiership and they deserve it with the season they've had. That said, three grand finals and only one premiership for a team of the Cat's quality would be disappointing for their supporters. They have clearly been the best team for the last few seasons.
  20. He's an absolute moron. End of story.
  21. Unbelievable. Shocked at the news and I've always backed him up when people tell me he's no good. Let's just hope we can pick up a good player at pick 11 then. I guess it also frees up more spots in the midfield.
  22. In 2008 I have to be honest and say I saw a very limited amount of Melbourne matches (too many Sunday games, the same day I worked every week, and to be honest, the money was more desirable than to see us get smashed each week). This year was different as I don't do Sunday shifts anymore and enjoyed seeing our kids running around this year! What I'm getting at is that I have not seen much of Wonna at all; only highlights of his breakout match against Fremantle last year. How do people see him as part of our future? How good was his first year overall? Should we expect him to be a permanent part of our team? Sorry if I'm sounding really stupid here, but it's hard for me to make an assessment of our good he is and how he fits in the side without having much knowledge of him.
  23. Comfortable win for Chelsea. Drogba, Essien and Ashley Cole were outstanding today. Totally deserved the win. 6 wins out of 6!
