  1. Needs a good game for casey and should replace an underdone Howe.
  2. Hey Werridee. Who's leading the votes above? Who did he play on? That is all. (Actually, not "all" but I'll be nice-[censored])
  3. Now, who else doubted our best back? Their best forward is clearly Cameron-when we have multiple defenders who could play on him, who is the one that plays from go to woe???
  4. Now, Werridee, FFS, bow to your superior. No arrogance, just common sense which clearly you lack. Thank Christ school holidays have finished in vic (please tell me they have finished...)
  5. #irony
  6. Seriously dude, you're being annoying. This is what I wrote; "TMc is our best key defender, Cameron is their best key forward. They match well with height, weight, size, etc. If TMc can play like he did last week, it will make Cameron accountable, which I think can be his biggest weakness." Read it as a full statement A team's best forward isn't always one that doesn't play as the true "KPF". Further, sometimes a team's best defender is not necessarily their "KPD". Example - there was a time when LeCras was arguably the Eagles' best forward. In this instance, we're not going to play our best defender on him (ie McDonald or Dunn), because the match up doesn't work. In this Saturday's case, their best forward (Cameron), and our best defender (McDonald) match up perfectly, and I expect them to play against each other (for reasons I have posted). It'll be the same when we play the likes of Richmond (McDonald vs Riewoldt), St Kilda (McDonald vs Riewoldt), West Coast (McDonald vs Kennedy), etc, etc. Please tell me that you understand now. Please.
  7. You're embarrassing yourself, and I can't believe I'm getting sucked in. 2014 was when Frawley played forward, which happened to be during our first GWS meeting (roughly Round 3) from memory. McDonald started on Cameron in the game, so your point is again irrelevant. Cameron didn't play the second time we played them in 2014. In 2013, Frawley played back, yet McDonald still played on Cameron, both games I believe. Cameron has the ability to kick a bag against Dunn. You need to ask yourself if you think the drive that TMc can offer by not playing on Cameron, is going to directly generate more goals than what Cameron will kick against Dunn. How I'm looking at the potential outcomes for Cameron; v Dunn = 4-6 goals v McDonald = 1-3 goals
  8. I had to give this it's own response...
  9. For your benefit, I've added my original post to this reply. Now how about you read it again, all of it. Did I say "You said best defender should play on best forward."? No. Now that we've cleared that up; who would've Dunn played on had Lynch and Dixon both played? More to the point, who would McDonald have played on? Roos saw a perfect opportunity to play our second best key defender on the opposition's third best key forward (who happened to be their "best" on the day due to number 1 and 2 being out), freeing up our number 1 to dominate, which he did.
  10. Good. H just needs to drop a bit deeper down back and take Palmer out of the game. Easy. We are fortunate that we have H, Howe, Garland AND McDonald that can zone off. FWIW, for at least the last three meetings against GWS, wanna take a guess at who has played on Cameron? Even last year when Roos was coaching, Cameron was their best forward, and we had the likes of Frawley, Dunn and McDonald to use.
  11. I'll answer them one at a time; 1. Arguably our best key defender 2. No, not after one game. Has proven himself before last week 3. Irrelevant 4. Presuming Dunn, given you used it as part of your argument. What does this have to do with McDonald playing on Cameron? Totally different players, and Cameron is a far, far better player than Day
  12. I'm expecting Kent to be given the job on Shaw. You're right about JKH. He will rarely have high possession games, but what he does with it will generally be high quality. Just have to look at his positioning when the ball comes in to know he'll win games for us in the future.
  13. Can see Lumumba dropping back to half back this week to zone off and provide the rebound that TMc provided last week. With Vince coming in, it's a luxury to be able to put H back, and provide the drive that you seek.
  14. It's about keeping it simple. TMc is our best key defender, Cameron is their best key forward. They match well with height, weight, size, etc. If TMc can play like he did last week, it will make Cameron accountable, which I think can be his biggest weakness.
  15. Injury you clown! And then you follow it up with "poor man's Toumpas". Wow. You're making it hard for me to respect your opinion.
  16. Welcome back, Cameron. Not sure how long you'll last back in here with the amount of abuse that gets thrown your way, but I wish you well.
  17. Ethan, I read a good "tweet" the other day, can't remember who posted it (was a sports journo), basically saying that while the pregame antics of clubs these days are a novelty, how about clubs save the money they spend on it and use that money to reduce membership prices. Was a fair point. That said, I don't think our club would be spending huge dollars on this sort of stuff from what I read in another thread on here the other day.
  18. As it stands, our first pick in the draft isn't until pick 15, so we're going to need some steak knives to get most of those deals across the line.
  19. McDonald is a certainty to go to Cameron.
  20. Closed case then, thanks for that. Did Tyson get many games ahead of the little brat?
  21. And have edited the above for Melbourne's "probable" nominations for 2015... Both will be nominated at some stage this year.
  22. Therein lies the problem, H. It sounds good in theory, but BBO gets to a whole new level of "aroused" when you tie him up, buckle him up, strap him in or strap one on...
  23. I believe Bitter But Optimistic is driving up from Romsey, you could try him. That said, you might feel more comfortable travelling up with Ivan Milat.
  24. Don't want to start a separate thread about this, but what is the story with Stephen Coniglio? I have always rated him, but for some reason he hasn't seemed to cement his spot in the GWS team (happy to be informed as to why this is the case, ie. due to injury). I know he injured his thumb a while back, which would explain some missed games, but going in to his fourth season, he's yet to play a full 22 games. He started as sub last week, so will be interesting to see what they do with him this week. Out of contract at the end of this season I believe. While he's a WA boy, I consider him a person of interest. I sit back with great smugness that some of the GWS kids will start to look elsewhere when they ask for a pay rise and it doesn't come. Is this bloke one we should tempt?
  25. Thought I had opened the "Changes to Next Week" thread. Any training reports?
