trengove got best on for sturt...it's pretty massive considering he was named on the bench...i think he started on the bench too.

wells is 25 next year...mclean is 24 next year...why should we get wells? we should of tried harder to keep mclean

I'm very p!ssed at the notion melbourne is expecting sucess in 6yrs time. i'm expecting melbourne to start climbing off the ladder next year...i hope melb can be playing in the finals within 2-3yrs. And win a flag within 6yrs...so our window to really be 3-6yrs time...am i totally off the mark here? i'm thinking...please let me know if you think i'm being to hard on these young players...we are now going to have 4 top 18picks...in there first year i hope they play 5games, 2nd year play 15games, and 3rd year to play 20games...that is 40games...is that not enough development?

based on wat i've read....melb should take scully and trengove wit pick #1 and #2....this is consider to be taking the best available...which i agree... it is the best approach...melb then has pick #18....this is still a pretty good pick to have. even though it's in a 'weak' draft. my question is...should melb continue with taking best available or try and pickup a KPP? it's obvious melb has a hole for a KPP.... ie., butcher and Morabito are both available after we take scully and tregove...who would you take? personally...i'm now thinking we take best available with pick #18....regardless of being a midfield or power forward player....

you haven't read my original post properly...please re-read...it says....'if i was applying for a job...and i had three choices or could ask to speak with many companies...' That covers your first argument....of 10 choices and only speaking with 3 clubs/shortlist as you put it... personally i agree with you...Burgoyne can get stuffed and we will pay him what we want...he def needs to come via the PSD...why should melb bendover backwards to pay him 750 and give port our draft picks otherwise...

It's called being open minded. it doesn't take a genius to workout that going to hawks is easiest option for him...it's pretty easy money for him...the list is far more developed than melbs...going to melb he's going to be playing with a lesser level/inexperienced players...so based on that theory he's going to be working harder for his money...so that's why he's asking for more money...i would be too...

melb doesn't need to write a blank cheque for a midfielder and hawks still need to do the deal...

on the footy show...hutchy has said all three clubs must submit there best offer by 5pm today (friday)....so you'd expect to be reading about which club he goes to in saturdays paper
