So with the AFL's current fixture formula we will be in the same bracket as Gold Coast, Carlton, Brisbane, Essendon and St. Kilda. This means we will get double up games against 2-3 of these clubs. No doubt one will be St. Kilda. Any chance we may finally get a home game against Essendon or Carlton? I know asking for both is too much but surely we get at least one of them.

Seriously this guy is an absolute beast. He'll be one of the stars of the comp in a few years - and he's ours! He bloody ragdolled that sook Thompson today, one of the premier defenders in the comp. Will be dominating games Carey style in a year or two. And with Gus and Petracca feeding him the footy it's gonna be bloody formidable for other teams. None of this guarantees anything of course - look how the Saints went with Plugger - but it gives us a bloody good start.

The morning of a game I have my coffee in my Demons mug and sing "It's a Grand Old Flag" with my 2 year old son after eating breakfast. He pretty much knows the words now and his favourite colours are of course red and blue.

I was there swyl one of my favourite games I've attended. Was 10 years old and going off my nut singing Grand Old Flag walking out of the ground while my old man got dirty looks haha Also went to that game with my Collingwood uncle and his Demon mate. Used to love going to away games in the suburban days was always great if you could get a win at Windy Hill, Vic Park, Western Oval or Moorabbin.

Sorry to bust your bubble but that Windy Hill game was round 16, 1990. Jakovich came to the Demons in 1991. Bennett definitely played that day though and "used Van Der Haar like a stepladder" as the commentators said.

That Hawthorn game he missed a shot on the run from the top of the goal square with no one in front of him. Later that quarter snaps one from 50 out on the boundary with barely a look at the goals. That's Jakovich in a nutshell.
