Collingwood had Pendlebury, Sidebottom, De Goey and Howe out against the Eagles. We had our best team in last night. It was unacceptable and only sustained performance over the course of a season and then multiple seasons will win back the trust of supporters.

The next 2 weeks prove nothing. They need to win both games comfortably and that won't be enough to win back the trust of supporters. That can only be gained by multiple YEARS of consistent performances. Until then it's same old Melbourne

Where is the coaching and development? Oliver came in with heaps of promise but hasn't improved and had gone backwards if anything. Brayshaw has not improved since coming to the club. Weideman hasn't improved other than natural development that comes with a more mature body. TMac never developed beyond the raw athleticism he had before his foot injury. Salem showed promise early and has not improved, no development since his first game against the Swans. Petracca and Gawn are the only two players on our list who can honestly say they've taken their game to another level in the last 5 years. Maybe Viney as well. Jones developed earlier on in his career. The evidence suggests that unless the players have the inner drive or footy IQ to develop off their own bat the club will not help them get there. It's an utter indictment on the culture of the club.

Only problem with that - it lets the players completely off the hook and we end up with the tail wagging the dog all over again. At this stage I'd rather ship off the likes of Brayshaw, TMac and Fritsch than sack the coach again.

I was born in the early 80s. As a kid watching the Demons was enjoyable, we made finals most years. Since 1994 I've enjoyed precisely 5 seasons of football. I always have faith that we'll be good one day, but when I read of people having watched for 50 years with the same results it makes me feel I'll. I couldn't handle another 20 plus years of this rubbish. My kids are 7 and 4 I swear they think I'm insane. Poor guys don't know what the hell they've been born into.

Laziness is the key thing I take from today's game. Goodwin should be giving the whole squad a massive rocket for just being plain lazy from the first bounce. Petracca seemed to be trying but couldn't get anything to work. Sparrow had a go, Lockhart tried. Hibberd and Lever seemed to be trying but were caught out too often. Pickett and Jackson excused for their inexoerience. The rest of them can get [censored].

The players have been pathetic tonight. No guts, no desire, no run, ****house disposal, just an absolutely rubbish performance. I don't know what Goodwin could do? I'm not saying he's not part of the problem but when the players are as pathetic as they've been tonight I don't know what a coach is expected to do. Clarkson the supercoach couldn't do a thing to turn the tide against us a few weeks back. Sometimes it's not the coach. The players need a massive rocket because this is just pathetic.
