THE 2024 AFL NATIONAL DRAFT - DAY ONE
Really interested to see how these two selections sit in our best 23, and the flow on effects to those that are there. Obviously, Lindsay allows Rivers to play permanent midfield if we want, it also enables us to potentially try McVee through the midfield, but I think it just gives us another kicker back there, which is handy. As for Langford, not only does he walk into our midfield IMO, he becomes really dangerous as a forward option alongside Trac and Fritta, those mid sized mobile forwards. I'm still fingers crossed for Riak Andrew too, so we can add another versatile tall to the back half, and follow it up next year with Kalani White as second ruck/forward. I still think we're a little light in the small forward department, but I hear we're looking at one with a later pick.

Does anyone know what time this bloody thing actually starts? 15 minutes of banging on about nothing so far...

Assuming we keep 5 & 9, who are you picking?
If we can't get Smith, I'd love Langford. If we can't get Allan, I'd be happy with Hynes. Might be a reach for Cooper though.

I reckon it's worth the risk. 👍

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
I love Smith, but would he very happy with two monster mids to go with Clarry, Viney and Trac.

Welcome to Demonland: Pick 9
I agree with the first bit. I think we targeted Houston for his ball use.

The player you're really looking for is Bo Allan. Smilie is big, but contest isn't really his go IMV.

Agree with this except for FOS. Will be interesting to see who's right over the next few years.

The Next CEO
Surely, mate. 😆 Signing the paperwork tomorrow. Not sure how SWYL got wind of it, but I'll make sure the seal is plugged by Monday.

The Curnow comparison is pretty superficial. It's more the way he moves than the way he plays. He's a dynamic half forward, so very unlike Ed Curnow.

2024 Phantom Drafts
Neither would I, but if JT does, I'll trust him.

I.dont understand mate. You want a centre square midfielder but you'd pick a tall like Tauru or Armstrong? Hotton reminds me of Ed Curnow, a lot. Probably more talented though. Ed did play a lot of games though and get the best out of himself.

The Cooper Hynes Thread
This is what I'm starting to believe. I think we'll simply snap Hynes up at 9.

And they were room mates!

Watching these clips again make me want Langford and Hynes. The latter is on the end of a lot of Langford's bullets. If Langford had pace he'd IMO be so far ahead of any of the others as a number pick 1. I think his lack of pace is overstated though. He's got that burst of acceleration when he hits the contest. He's got great hands, a beautiful kick, a great overhead mark and he kicks goals. He's very likely to be an A+ AFL player IMO.

Time to go Goody?
Me too mate.

Jeepers DS. You're a duffer sometimes. IMHO.
