Reckon both those boys will be in WA in 3 years time. One already is.

Yep, dollars will mean a lot going forward, with our young list and hopefully, our bunch of young stars.

Whilst I agree Kelly has yet to really do much, I think he's a far, far superior kick to Scully. The reason I think some MFC supporters might rate Kelly over Fyfe is because the type of player Kelly is seen as, is exactly the sort of player that is missing from our current midfield make up. Of course, if Fyfe wanted to come to Melbourne no one would say no, it's that we have the ball winners assembled, but lack the outside class of a Kelly. I should mention also that Kelly would come a lot cheaper than Fyfe too, so that may play into the thinking.

I don't think Sheedy has been right about anything for almost 15 years. Some Essendon supporters I know didn't rate him that highly when he was at the helm during their premierships. Of course, they think Sheedy underachieved with the lists he built. But since the mid-2000s, he's been a bit of a train wreck. He was finished in his last few years at Essendon and then took a pay cheque up in Sydney. As soon as he left GWS, they blossomed - and even now I'm not sure how good Cameron is. With the unprecedented access to talent they had, they still haven't achieved the ultimate. Is that at Sheedy's feet? Potentially partly. In regards to Tyson, Dom will be a very, very good player. He still has a gear or two to go and he averaged 25 possessions in 2015. He has also played 71 games, so in 2017/2018, he is due to take off. If he can improve again on his 2016 and average say 28-29 possessions, he'll be in the elite category of the competition. Like Oliver, he's a ball magnet extractor, who when unhampered by injury, is one of our most important players.

That was a bloody good draft wasn't it?

Anyone seen Tom Ford's new film NOCTURNAL ANIMALS? It's genius. He is a master. The film joins HYPERNORMALISATION and WHERE TO INVADE NEXT as one of my favourite films of 2016.

I love most of his films prior to the mid 90s and since, he's been very hit and miss. But then he is making a film every year. He also had his tv series this year too, which probably didn't help Cafe Society. The series has been panned unfortunately, but I'll still watch it at some point. Miley Cyrus is a very intriguing muse. I probably prefer his multi-relationship films ultimately though (Husbands and Wives, Hannah and her Sisters), but that's a style of filmmaking I really gel with, ala the sprawling ensembles of Altman and his protégé PT Anderson.

Saw Cafe Society and it's okay. Kristen Stewart is amazing. She really is one of the best actresses of her generation, but the rest is pretty cliche Woody without the moments of inspiration.

Marvel is very meh, so I doubt he'll have much to work with. But it's a nice pay day.

Shall try and get my hands on it. I did a bunch of research a couple of years ago for a series and I've only just worked out how to make it. Now it's just got to be accessible. The series makes sense from a financial point of view, because you can reuse sets, props, costumes etc. That's my thinking as well, but I think like a producer because I am one.

I prefer earlier, although the 1850s and 1860s is a fascinating time and place. I shall. You let me know about yours too. Omeo's beautiful! My biggest concern at the moment is making a colonial TV series accessible. Even Jimmy McGovern couldn't get it right. Our colonial history is bloody fascinating, but it's how you tell the story. I found Australian History dead boring in high school, but love reading about it myself.

Yeah, it's great, isn't it? And now he's directing the next Thor flick for Marvel.

It's not, but I've got another series that is.

Yeah, VDL is great. One of my editors cut it. Lovely looking film. I'm developing a series set in Tassie at the moment, so that was definitely an influence at some point.

True, although if we can spend 35 mill on Andy 'flogga' Carroll, we can spend 60 on de Gea. Haha. Foster wouldn't be the worst option though either. Mignolet is a hack though and shouldn't be near even second gloves. Karius is more confident in the air for mine, but if he seems iffy, it's probably more down to the ordinary defenders in front of him. They need to buy another CB or two in the Jan transfer market. Someone that's confident, solid and doesn't invite pressure with stupid passes or poor touches. To be honest, I was happy with the point. I said to a few Liverpool mates before the season started that the bus driver would park his bus and historically we've been unable to play around or through the bus. But we should have won. Can should have buried that shot on his wrong foot inside the box and if not for a brilliant de Gea save, we would have had another Coutinho special. I'd certainly prefer Klopp's style, but Mourinho has the EPL titles in his trophy cabinet. I hope we can say the same thing about Jürgen come the end of this season. Now, back to Man City.

Brilliant. One of the best team goals of the season. I saw a stat today that was illuminating. Since Klopp's arrival, we are the top scoring team in the EPL. We lead a few other stats as well, but the one we notably can never get right is the defence. I'd buy de Gea from the Mancs. Clyne was a lot better than he usually is this morning too. Get the defence right and we'll win the league this season - can't believe I'm saying that. I backed Man City to win it this season with the old Bet365, but we're a real chance. There's talk around that we might be in for Agüero in Jan too. We're great to watch. Lots of goals at either end. It's very much like the second placed finished under Rodgers. Brilliant in attack and frail in defence. Although, I like Karius and we work a lot harder defensively under Klopp and we have far more attacking options than under Rodgers. Lallana is a new player under Klopp. Henderson is still ordinary though. Will turn on the City game now! Awesome.

No, that is how you spell and pronounce it. Just read that intelligence is more likely apparently passed on by the mother. So he must have had an intelligent mother.

I didn't get a lot from Bronson. I don't love Chopper, but I can see its merits and it's certainly a better film. Tom Hardy is great though.

He's been in a bit of a blind spot for me. I've seen Bronson and have been meaning to see Drive and the Pusher films for years, but have never really wanted to enough. Love the Drive soundtrack though. I got into that at the time. Cliff Martinez is great.

Yeah, true, although I can often look past substance if the style is amazing. Hence my love of giallos, but I have never been able to with Burton. His first Batman film is good.

Yeah, I studied German Expressionism at Uni too. Haven't seen The Sniper, Ace In The Hole or Murder, My Sweet. I find it one of the great paradoxes that I love German Expressionism and noirs, but rarely like anything by Tim Burton.

Noirs are great. Roots in the German Expressionist period. I love the style. The Cabinet of Dr Caligari - the original Shutter Island. Double Indemnity, Laura, The Third Man, The Night of the Hunter and one of my all time favourite films, Vertigo. The top of the list for me of neo noirs is also considered a giallo, DePalma's Dressed To Kill. Love the Cohen's first film too, Blood Simple.

Just finished watching the genius that is Adam Curtis with his new film HyperNormalisation, which came out a couple of days ago in the UK. This film is incredible. If you haven't heard of Curtis, he makes documentary films for the BBC with their archive and often deals with international politics and masterfully weaves between political events in the West and the Middle East. Although terrifying, I'd have to say this film is the best film I've seen in 2016. It is incredible. The ideas blow my mind and the way he sums up complex ideas about society, the ways it functions and its problems is something I haven't seen from a filmmaker before. He's Michael Moore without humour and more intellectual. Has anyone seen it yet?

IMO Hibberd is a much better ball user. Hibberd is more defensive, plays as a defender, a good, long kick and is reasonably strong one-on-one. Melksham is a winger that could play off half back or half forward, use his pace and break some lines. But he's not extreme pace like Hunt. Personally, I think Melksham butchers it by foot, but can occasionally kick a good goal. A highly rated junior that crumbled a little bit IMO at AFL level. Will be interesting to see how he adjusts to Melbourne. Particularly with a year out of the game.
